  1. Full time and it's a Demons premiership 15.6.96 to 4.4.28. Well done lads and well done to Rollo! And off Supermercado's twitter: Maigod, I did the worst kick-in ever in footy. Impossible to describe in words.
  2. Rollo reports a convincing victory for Demonland/Demonology against Saintsational - 10.15.75 to 0.3.3. Goals to smita(2), scotty the ruckman, melbournefc, scotty the rover, deemitch, steve, wise, gus, madness. Bomber Blitz defeated Nick's Magpie Bulletin Board by 7 points. Waiting for the Grand Final Results v Bomber Blitz. Update: Dees have it well in hand at half time in the Grand Final with a 33 point lead.
  3. Word from Victoria Park is that the Demonland/Demonology leads Saintsational 27-3 at half time. It's starting to look like a repeat of the Grand Final for the Saints' boys.
  4. And here I was thinking the perpetrator was a Collingwood supporter on account of the set of dentures he/she left behind
  5. We'll carry out further updating of the OP when trade week's done and dusted. 6. Nor do we even know if he's available.
  7. I'd just like to take this opportunity to wish the boys in the team all the best for today. Please keep us updated with the scores and details if possible and enjoy the after game events ... PS Rollo, I just realised I have the Big Carl trophy still sitting in my office.
  8. I've heard Chris Connolly talk up Jake Spencer as a future ruck prospect on a number of occasions and there's no doubt in my mind that Jake was going to get a new contract and an upgrade from the rookie list. The timing of the new contract is co-incidental. This is the time of year clubs usually finalise rookie contracts. In any event, I thought the FD was looking at Hale principally as a forward with the capacity to do a bit of pinch hitting as a ruckman. Spencer's certainly not that sort of player at this stage of his career.
  9. First deal done - Patrick Veszpremi is a Doggie and Andrejs Everitt becomes the second member of his family to land at the Swans. Somebody threw in a late pick as well.
  10. North balked at that offer??? You're kidding! I've seen Hale move on a football field and he can't balk. Are North mad? Are our recruiters mad?
  11. Good disposal skills will be more important than ever in 2011 and beyond. Carlton people are critical of Grigg's foot skills and this is what the 2007 AFL Prospectus said about him:-
  12. Mitchell Johnson is the Dane Swan of the Aussie cricket team. Great job getting a five fer. On the other hand, Marcus North needs to produce when he comes out to bat tomorrow. If not, he should go out and buy some tickets for the Commonwealth Games events.
  13. My preference would be to secure a tall forward in this draft and it would seem that at pick # 12 we are well placed to snare a good one. However, it would appear that there are about half a dozen mid sized players likely to be taken in our range and if the quality is there, why not? I suppose that leads to the question whether we could collect another pick in the late teens or early 20s. Problem is nearly everyone else will want the same thing and these draft picks come at a cost. The question will be whether we want to pay.
  14. I answered the first question in favour of Max Gawn, not just because I'm his sponsor but because it would be great to see the 208cm ruckman run out onto the G and destroy those midget ruckmen like Jolly and co.
  15. Bad luck to the Redlegs. No grand old flag for Norwood. What a sensational run from Central District - 9 premierships in 11 seasons!!!
  16. Thanks for the updates guys. With a bit of luck the season could be well and truly saved for the red and the blue in Adelaide of all places!
  17. Great to see a black and white free grand final. Go Redlegs.
  18. The action starts officially on Tuesday (although there's obviously a lot going on in the background) and here's the rundown:- Tuesday October 5, 10am - Father/Son bidding meeting (Gold Coast Suns not entitled to participate). Three players have been nominated:- * Tom Liberatore (Western Bulldogs) * Mitch Wallis (Western Bulldogs) * Luke Brennan (West Coast) Tuesday October 5 - Monday October 11 - AFL exchange period (In addition to normally permitted exchanges, Gold Coast Suns may exchange players nominated as 17-year-olds in 2009 who have not accepted a contract offer, players nominated as rookies in 2009 who have not accepted a contract offer, the right to list a player who has previously nominated for the Draft under rule 35.5 and the right to list a priority zone selection from Queensland or the Northern Territory under rule 35.6). Thursday October 7, 2pm - Gold Coast FC may include on its primary list up to one listed player from each club (or more than one if the other club agrees) provided the player is uncontracted for the 2011 season.
  19. And best of luck to him tomorrow in his quest to win the most important grand final of 2010. Go Redlegs!!!
  20. It's half time, Collingw&%$ are dominating and Shane Watson just went out. I think I'll go walk the dog. Problem is I don't have a dog ... which is lucky for the dog the way I'm feeling ATM.
  21. Thankd Freddy. Looks like the Saints can't get into it either.
  22. Just can't get into it. Sunshine, Lionel Ritchie, no grand final sprint ... how's the cricket going?
  23. Robbo on SEN just said that if he was at Melbourne he would walk into Brisbane and say to them, "let's do a deal on Mich Clark!"
  24. The complex and tragic story of life in Liam Jurrah's home community of Yuendumu - A sorry tale of sorcery and payback in Yuendumu. The article relates to the tensions caused by the death of a young member of the community and mentions that the situation "can be traced to the death of his 18-year-old cousin, who had cancer and passed away two years ago at Yuendumu." From memory, Liam was originally brought to Melbourne two years ago to play with Collingwood's VFL team but returned home after playing only three games to be with a young friend who was dying of cancer. If it's the same person then Liam is surely very close to this conflict. One hopes the situation can be resolved appropriately without adding further sadness and grief to the people of Yuendumu.
  25. Test Match v Grand Final on 2nd October. What will you be watching?
