  1. I tell you what. It ain't going to get much better than this. So lap it up.
  2. Highlights - and that trade involving Howe and Toumpas isn't included, probably because it hasn't been signed off. Steve Johnson will officially continue his career in 2016 after today being traded to the GWS Giants. The Giants say he will play in 2016 with the potential of playing again in 2017 should his form warrant it. Gold Coast ruckman Zac Smith has got his wish to play at Geelong next season after the two clubs agreed to a trade today. As part of the Smith trade, North Melbourne's Daniel Currie was traded from the Kangaroos to the Gold Coast Suns where he will continue his career next season. Adam Treloar looks certain to be a Collingwood player next season with GWS coach Leon Cameron indicating today that the deal between the Giants and the Pies was very close to being signed. Tom Bell will play at the Brisbane Lions next year after the Lions and the Blues agreed on a trade to see him move back to his home state next season. Josh Walker will also play at the Lions next year after he was part of a trade that saw him and Jarrad Jansen move to the Lions in exchange for a future pick at next year's draft. As part of the Jansen/Walker trade, the Cats will receive Brisbane's third round pick at the 2016 NAB AFL Draft.
  3. I'm happy to see Ben Kennedy at the club. I watched him play SANFL the ABC on a number of occasions two years ago and he looked very accomplished and a player with a terrific future. Like Jimmy Toumpas, he's been disappointing at Collingwood but I think he's a player of the type we're after and one who could play for us for a long time. He'll be happy to be at the same club as Billy Stretch and ANB as well having come from Glenelg.
  4. Or somehow pick up Dion (yes I know he has a contract to fulfil) Prestia subject to fitness?
  5. Callum Twomey's post Draft Combine Phantom Form Guide on the AFL website. I'm still not convinced that we should be shooting for pick 3 and in fact, I'm still more inclined to aim for a trade and a switch of draft picks that sees us with a couple of later but still relatively high picks.
  6. For the next 6½ hours it's still Saturday.Have I missed something?
  7. On topic please folks. And for those who want to issue personal abuse, please check the code of conduct.
  8. Highlights - pick 120 came into play North Melbourne has not given up hope of securing Brisbane midfielder James Aish. The Magpies remain the frontrunner, but the Roos have this week renewed their interest. St Kilda has tabled a new offer to Essendon for Jake Carlisle. It comes after Hawthorn's big play for him yesterday. The Saints say Carlisle is still committed to them. North Melbourne's Ryan Bastinac has met with Brisbane officials today about a possible move to the Lions. Jed Anderson was today officially traded from the Hawks to the Roos, with the Hawks receiving back a first round pick from the Roos, as well as another exchange of picks. Curtley Hampton was today traded from the GWS Giants to the Adelaide Crows in exchange for the club's second round pick in next year's NAB AFL Draft. Geelong ruckman Dawson Simpson today moved to the GWS Giants as a backup ruckman for Shane Mumford. He moves as an unrestricted free agent. Jacob Townsend will play for the Tigers next season after being traded to the Tigers, along with pick 120, in exchange for the club's pick 70. Hawthorn midfielder Brendan Whitecross has met with GWS this week as the Giants make a play for the unrestricted free agent. He has also met with the Lions.
  9. Highlights - the lack of real activity is shown up by the fact that we're getting a bit of old news mixed in with the few real highlights Hawthorn has made a shock move to snatch Jake Carlisle from St Kilda's grasp. The Hawks have come into the play with a three-way trade involving Jed Anderson which is expected to see Carlisle move to the Premiers. As part of the proposed Carlisle trade, Jed Anderson would move from Hawthorn to North Melbourne, while an exchange of picks would also take place to see the Bombers secure two extra first round picks. Essendon's Jake Melksham will play for the Demons next season after the two clubs agreed to a trade to see him move in exchange for pick 25. Lewis Jetta will play at the West Coast Eagles next season after tonight being traded by the Swans in a direct trade for Eagles ruckman Callum Sinclair. Richmond general manager of football Dan Richardson has slammed Harley Bennell as being "disrespectful" when he visited the club earlier this year. Collingwood's Paul Seedsman has nominated Adelaide as his destination club of choice, with the two clubs now set to head to the trade table. The Crows beat a number of clubs in attempting to lure Seedsman out of Collingwood. Matthew Leuenberger is officially an Essendon player after Brisbane elected not to match the club's three-year free agency offer. The Lions will now receive an end of second round compensation pick from the AFL for losing Leuenberger.
  10. Headed for the coast.
  11. Traded for Lewis Jetta to Sydney. See ya.
  12. Gorn to the Dockers. Good luck to them; they need it.
  13. Highlights - there's movement at the station but not at Jolimont. Harley Bennell will play for the Fremantle Dockers next season after they agreed to a trade today with the Gold Coast Suns. Bennell and pick 22 were sent to the Dockers in exchange for picks 16 and 35. Lachie Henderson is officially a Cat after Carlton and Geelong agreed on a trade to send Henderson to Geelong in exchange for the club's first round selection in next year's NAB AFL Draft. It is the first time ever that a club has traded a future pick. Steve Johnson could be a Giants player next season after meeting club officials and taking a tour of the club in Sydney today. It is believed any deal would involve a playing and coaching contract. The Giants confirmed the meeting tonight, but insisted no offer had been made yet. Lewis Jetta will play at the West Coast Eagles next season after tonight being traded by the Swans in a direct trade for Eagles ruckman Callum Sinclair. Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft says the club is still hopeful of securing more talent this NAB AFL Trade Period, with the club eyeing off Paul Seedsman (Collingwood) and Daniel Currie (North Melbourne) in possible trades. With Geelong securing so much talent this NAB AFL Trade Period, forward Josh Walker could be forced out. There have been reports today that the Brisbane Lions will make a big play for the 22-year-old. Interest continues from the GWS Giants for Geelong ruckman Dawson Simpson. The unrestricted free agent is expected to join the club this week.
  14. Highlights (ho hum): GWS says Adam Treloar is no certainty to get to Collingwood, with several clubs having made enquiries about him. That comes despite Treloar nominating the Pies as his destination of choice. GM of footy Graeme Allan telling NAB Trade Radio today the Giants were still in negotiations with several clubs. Interest continues to grow for contracted Carlton forward Levi Casboult. The latest club to throw its hat in the ring appears to be Fremantle, with the Dockers reportedly interested in the Blues forward. If they can't get Cam McCarthy from the Giants, expect the Dockers to go hard after Casboult. West Coast has lashed out at the AFL for what they believe to be inadequate compensation for losing free agent Scott Selwood. The Eagles received a second round pick, but they think it should have been at least a first round selection. Promising GWS player Adam Tomlinson is no guarantee to be at the club next season, with his manager confirming there had been significant interest from Melbourne clubs for the contracted GWS star. That comes despite the Giants saying today he would be going nowhere in 2016. Carlton is believed to have made a strong bid to lure out-of-contract Adelaide midfielder Sam Kerridge back home to Victoria. It has been reported that the Blues could offer Kerridge as much as a three year deal from next season. Brisbane Lions player Jack Redden last night became the fourth player to move clubs after a deal was secured to trade him to the West Coast Eagles in exchange for pick number 17. There could be good news on the horizon for Port Adelaide fans with Ollie Wines' manager confirming today that he is expected to start discussions on a new contract for his player with the Power before Christmas.
  15. Yet he was dropped from the team for the final against North Melbourne. Was a reason given?
  16. Highlights: Patrick Dangerfield is officially a Geelong player. He was the first player traded today along with pick 50 in exchange for Geelong's picks 9, 28 and player Dean Gore. Adelaide and Geelong avoided the free agency compensation system by electing to trade for Dangerfield instead. Geelong's Dean Gore has been traded from Geelong to Adelaide as part of the Patrick Dangerfield trade. Gore was taken at pick 55 in the 2014 NAB AFL National Draft. Scott Selwood will join his brother Joel in being a Geelong player next year after officially joining the club today as a free agent. The deal became final when the Eagles elected not to match the Cats' offer for Selwood as a free agent. Hawthorn midfielder Jed Anderson has officially asked the Hawks to be traded away from the club. List manager Graham Wright told NAB Trade Radio that while Anderson was contracted, the Hawks would look for a trade, but would hold onto Anderson should the deal not be satisfactory. Jeremy Howe has reportedly told Melbourne he wants to play elsewhere next season, with several clubs still hunting the services of the high-flying swingman. Jake Melksham appears certain to be a Melbourne player next season, with the deal to get him to the club on the verge of being signed. It is expected that a second round draft pick will get the job done in a straight swap between the Demons and the Bombers. Brisbane ruckman Matthew Leuenberger has nominated Essendon as his club of choice as he seeks to leave the Brisbane Lions as a restricted free agent. The Bombers have lodged the paperwork for Leuenberger and must now wait to see if the Lions match any deal. Hawthorn has ruled itself out of the running to secure Chris Yarran from the Blues, after being told it was highly likely he would end up at Richmond. List manager Graham Wright telling NAB Trade Radio they had spoken to Yarran's management, but were informed the deal was all but done with the Tigers.
  17. Is he the bloke who sounds like he's been inhaling helium?
  18. The 10 draft prospects you shouldn't be sleeping on
  19. Draft hopeful Wayne Milera ready for his chance, hand on heart
  20. Sudanese born ruckman equals Nik Nat combine record
  21. er, um ... he's coming along very nicely after a good season with South Melbourne Districts Under 10s ~ http://www.foxsportspulse.com/round_info.cgi?c=0-4901-0-360880-0&pool=1001&fixture=124531730&a=SELECT
  22. Taken. New contract with Hawks - well deserved for his perseverance and loyalty.
  23. GWS has a problem with the talent at the high end of its academy programme. It recently nominated eight players under the provisions of the AFL Club Academies Rule:-Jock Cornell (Mangoplah), Nicholas Coughlan (Albury Tigers), Matthew Flynn (Narrandera), Harrison Himmelberg (Mangoplah), Jacob Hopper (North Ballarat Rebels), Jack Irvine (Temora), Matthew Kennedy (Collingullie) and Lachlan Tiziani (Albury). The bidding system is likely to place the two players bolded inside the top ten and one would imagine the Giants would like to be able to draft at least three others. To do this they need to accumulate a certain number of points which they can only do by acquiring more draft picks. They also need to off load listed players to make room for these players, hence they are putting players like Bugg up for trade - it's an absolute necessity to enable them to take advantage of the strength of their academy crop at the same time as the draft pool is generally considered as shallow.
  24. The reality is we're not likely going to have the opportunity to take him over Curnow with pick 6, less so if we happen to trade that choice away.
