  1. Gresham steals the show at draft combine's skills testing Also - http://www.foxsportspulse.com/assoc_page.cgi?client=1-3020-0-0-0&&news_task=DETAIL&articleID=36493590 Daniel Rioli testing well according to reports.
  2. Finished 3rd and paid $2.80 for the place. When does it run next Redleg?
  3. I made the point earlier but really, the sum total of everything new over the first week of Trade Radio discussion has been a poofteenth above zero. We learned very little that wasn't known before the week started. The real stuff starts the day after tomorrow and what I think will be interesting is whether the clubs have used the week to conduct discussions to allow them to complete some of the more obvious trades and deals. The frustrating thing about past trade weeks is that nothing happens in the first few days and so many trades are held up to the last day because some clubs are interested in posturing while others are delayed because they're waiting on one deal to be finalised down the line. It remains to be seen whether what's gone on in the background has helped clubs put these deals together which in turn might allow for an increased amount of player movement over what's taken place in the past.
  4. Yep, just an observation but there do seem to be some similarities based on the description below from Emma Quayle's Combine Draft Harvester:- I think both are around the same size and light weight and play a similar type of game. According to reports, Daniel Rioli has been testing well at the Draft Combine (I don't think Cyril tested all that well BTW) - perhaps he also has that Rioli Magic - he certainly impressed me in the Grand Final curtain raiser.
  5. The last indigenous small forward we got from St. Pats Ballarat was Dom Barry BTW.
  6. Not just you Bub.Both O'Meara and Prestia are said to be responding slowly to their injuries with Prestia the more advanced of the two. My mail is that O'Meara would be lucky to play half a season next year unless his condition makes a rapid improvement. Prestia, as alluded to by Dazzle is in the gym which means he's in the very early stages of his recovery. At the very best, he is going to miss most of the preseason. The information I had came from a person previously connected with the Suns who's words to me initially were that if a club was after either of them, they should "closely examine their scans". Which of course, every club would and should do. My guess would be that pursuing O'Meara at this point in time would be high risk, Prestia, less so but still more of an investment for 2017 and beyond.
  7. I watched the Allies v Aussie U17 game on live streaming on the AFL website and Rioli was very impressive. He has a lot of Cyril in him. Question is at what point do you select him? I suspect he's a second rounder but I really haven't seen enough of him.
  8. Any danger of staying on topic people? FYI, this is the Jäeger O'Meara thread.
  9. Highlights:- Fremantle is set to table its first-round picks in the next two NAB AFL Drafts in an attempt to secure forward Cam McCarthy from the GWS Giants. McCarthy's manager said the Giants want him to stay, but "you never know" what can happen in trade period. West Coast vice-captain Scott Selwood has walked out on the club, formally requesting a move to Geelong as a restricted free agent tonight. As a restricted free agent, the Eagles can match any offer on Selwood by the Cats. Adelaide has announced Don Pyke as its new senior coach for the next three years. The Crows coaching sub-committee appointed the former West Coast premiership player after working under Adam Simpson at the Eagles for the past two seasons. He was an assistant coach at the Crows in 2005-06. Jeremy Howe is more likely to leave Melbourne than he is to stay, according to his manager Ben Niall. Niall told NAB Trade Radio that three other clubs had made offers for Howe (Gold Coast and two Melbourne-based teams). Adam Treloar is absolutely committed to getting to Collingwood, according to his manager Peter Blucher. Blucher said the offer coming from Collingwood to the Giants was more than reasonable and he expected the deal to get done next week when the trade period begins. Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro says from the club's perspective, he thinks it's quite clear Jake Carlisle is worth pick five from St Kilda. Dodoro said he had already had discussions with the Saints regarding the move of Carlisle to St Kilda. Sydney ruckman Mike Pyke is set to retire at the end of the season, despite having a year to run on his contract. His manager Ben Niall telling NAB Trade Radio today that business opportunities could see Pyke finish in the game a year earlier than expected.
  10. The 2015 AFL National Draft Combine is upon us without the usual fanfare. Here are a few good articles that provide some good resource material:- 2015 AFL Draft: Combine Harvester Road to the Draft: Draft Combine Preview Who will be this year's peak performers? 17 draft prospects to watch at the Combine
  11. Highlights: Jake Carlisle wants to be a Saint. In an exclusive interview this morning with NAB Trade Radio, Carlisle told us that he'd agreed to a "lengthy deal". This afternoon though, the Saints confirmed there was no way they would trade pick 5 as a direct swap for Carlisle, with the two clubs set to head to the negotiating table to get the deal done. James Aish has officially requested a trade to Collingwood. His manager Liam Pickering telling NAB Trade Radio tonight he wishes to come to Melbourne and play for the Pies. However, the Lions say they have no intention in trading Aish. Ben Lennon's future at the Tigers remains in limbo, with the Tigers forward still yet to sign a new contract. His manager Anthony McConville telling NAB Trade Radio that while he wants to stay at the Tigers, there was still a lot to work through before that happened. Unrestricted free agent Jarrad Grant remains out of contract, with the Western Bulldogs yet to offer him a new deal, despite playing his best season. His manager Anthony McConville telling NAB Trade Radio it was disappointing the club hadn't yet offered him a new deal. There is plenty of interest in the AFL circles for Carlton forward Levi Casboult. While he is contracted for next season, his manager Anthony McConville confirmed that he had received a number of enquiries from clubs regarding his services for next season. Hawthorn's Ryan Schoenmakers says he wants to stay at the Hawks, despite growing interest from rival clubs. While he is out of contract, Schoenmakers told 5AA he hoped his management could sort out a new deal to keep him at the Hawks in 2016 and beyond. There are reports that Hawthorn has emerged as a late contender to secure the services of Chris Yarran. There were reports that the Hawks spoke to Yarran's management this week, in a move that could spark Richmond into action.
  12. Fixed. The original information was quoted direct from a Trade Radio email.
  13. I spent two years between the ages of 2 and 4 at Elmore where the family had a textile farm so it's the place of my earliest memories. The bridge over the railway station and picnics by the river. How does it look these days?
  14. Highlights: Gold Coast midfielder Harley Bennell has chosen Fremantle as his preferred new club for 2016. The Dockers and the Giants Suns will now head to the trade table to try to negotiate for the troubled former number two draft pick. Former Geelong forward Stevie Johnson could be lured north to the Brisbane Lions next season with Lions list manager Peter Schwab indicating this morning that the club had spoken with Johnson's management. The club could look to bring him in on a playing/coaching contract. Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett has signed a new six year contract with the Power. The deal will tie Hartlett with the club until the end of 2021. Hartlett ignored strong interest to move to Victoria next season. Gold Coast ruckman Zac Smith has nominated Geelong as his preferred destination in 2016. Smith also attracted interest from Sydney and Essendon recently. He will now seek a trade between the two clubs. GWS forward Jed Lamb will either remain at the Giants in 2016 - or move to Carlton. His manager Matt Bain telling NAB Trade Radio today that Lamb was yet to make his decision, but indicated it was likely he would move to the Blues next season. Port Adelaide has revealed they will offer forward John Butcher a new contract shortly. There had been talk that Butcher wouldn't be at the Power next season, but GM of football Chris Davies told NAB Trade Radio a strong finish to the season meant a new deal was imminent. Restricted free agent Colin Garland has ignored offers from other clubs to announce a new three-year deal with the Demons. The defender said success wouldn't mean anything unless he was playing for the Demons. Melbourne's former pick four Jimmy Toumpas could be on the move from the club, with reports emerging that a move home to South Australia could be on the cards. Port Adelaide told NAB Trade Radio tonight they would be interested in talking to any South Australian talent wishing to move home. Former Geelong player Mitch Brown says he could revive his AFL career next season after receiving interest from AFL clubs this off-season. Brown spent time as a top-up player with Essendon in this year's NAB Challenge.
  15. With Melbourne's third round pick, Paige has gone for Sam Skinner - I can't see her second and third round picks coming to fruition. If we take a midfielder at this stage, he won't be a small bodied type. As for Skinner, I think we have his type of player around already - not overly gifted for a tall forward/ruckman. We're already developing Max King.
  16. For our second pick at 27, Paige has us going small to find Kieren Lovell (believed to be a distant cousin of Andy) -
  17. Paige Cardona's Phantom Draft - Edition One She has us down for our first selection at Pick 8 (with Sydney and GWS forced to pick Mills and Hopper earlier through the bidding system) where she regards Charlie Curnow as our likely choice - I'm still going with my hunch that our first pick will be traded but if not, Curnow sounds like a likely type.
  18. Draft Profile: Darcy Parish
  19. Therapy? You should see what it's like in the workplace here at Demonland. We're just going through our performance reviews ...
  20. Highlights [6.10.15] The Saints have confirmed that Jake Carlisle has undergone a medical at the club and that they are very interested in recruiting the 24-year-old. Chief Operating Offer Ameet Bains told NAB Trade Radio it was down to the Saints or Blues for Carlisle. Luke Parker is going nowhere! Despite rumours circulating this week that the Swan wanted to leave the club, his manager Ned Guy has told NAB Trade Radio today that he is looking to sign a contract extension before Christmas. Hawthorn duo David Hale and Brian Lake have officially announced their retirements from football. Hale said he would look to move into coaching post-career. Brian Lake said he had pitched his case to the Hawks to play again, but would now look to play local footy, and was interested in remaining in the admin and coaching side of the game. Melbourne list manager Josh Mahoney has confirmed that Jake Melksham wants to go to the Demons. Mahoney also confirmed the club was monitoring Collingwood's Ben Kennedy. Meanwhile, Ameet Bains said the Saints were confident the club could secure a deal with Collingwood midfielder Nathan Freeman, indicating the conversations with him had been so far positive. Steve Johnson says he is open to playing at a club outside of Victoria, but he is yet to fully decide whether he wants to extend his career into 2016. Geelong's Josh Walker could be on the move, with the Blues being touted as a potential suitor. His manager Ned Guy telling NAB Trade Radio he could potentially be part of the Henderson trade to Carlton. Conclusion: Quite frankly, I don't think anything new was revealed today and I suspect the rest of the week is going to remain much the same. When the clubs are able to do some real trading then we might see some action but so far, it's all white noise.

Carlton footy boss Andrew McKay has also revealed the Blues will consider recruiting Jake Carlisle in the pre-season draft, should they not be able to secure a trade with the Bombers. New Essendon coach John Worsfold has indicated the Bombers may be interested in recruiting Harley Bennell from the Suns. Worsfold told NAB Trade Radio today the Bombers were interested, but would need to research his commitment into upholding the club's standards first. Patrick Dangerfield's manager Paul Connors says Dangerfield "will be playing for the Cats next year". Connors has also called on the Crows to accept the free agency compensation (currently pick 14) in exchange for losing Dangerfield. Quote from Damian Barrett on Twitter "@traderadio: Barrett: It's absolutely locked in the Buddy deal will have to be portioned to the Swans cap to the end of the deal until '22 #NABTradeRadio"
