Tigers midfield is bog ordinary. They won't be able to compete against the top four teams, even if Dusty returns. There'll be surprises though. Always are.

Clayton Oliver now 2022 Brownlow favourite?
dee-tox replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I honestly think Neale will win it again. McCluggage is his only competition. If that scumbag Selwood didn't break Clarry's hand then I reckon he'd win it in a canter. -
Amazing game. As good as Curnow is he has six months to think what could have been.

Most well known Dees supporter amoungst the supporter base?

Rupert Murdoch is world famous for the wrong reasons! -
This sounds like Scott! He certainly enjoys himself at the footy...

Someone earlier mentioned in the thread 'rope a dope'. A reference, of course, to Ali absorbing a heap of punishment and taking all Foreman could give and then letting lose after George was worn out A tongue in cheek comment no doubt. But the way we lead out of the forward line, spotted up targets, created space, and broke forward efficiency records signalled to me we have plenty up our sleeves! Even some of the loopy kicks forward hit their leading target last night. I remember when playing we had set leading lanes for our FF and CHF. We practiced them week after week. We identified set positions our forwards could run to and we had to kick to space. As far as I've seen, we haven't seen any of the plays used last night in the first 22 rounds. Jackson spotting up Brown. Fritta and Melk leading to space... Maybe I'm giving Goodwin too much credit but I think he still has a few tricks up his sleeve! Game on!

Fair assessment! Kind to Gus but play on!

Looked, confident, assured and determined. Stepped up with the absence of Salem.

Have a look at Sparrow's second quarter. He was kamikaze in his attack on the ball and the man. Crazy good.

I wasn't that impressed with ANB tonight, particularly with the ball but I can't see him getting dropped. Works so hard. Salo for Bowey.

Mighty impressive performance. Trac was back tonight! Our barometer. Loved the straight kicking. Luke Jackson's best game since Gold Coast game. Beating up Brisbane is a good feeling! Clarry maybe a Brownlow vote or two? BBB brilliant. Hibbo's job on Cameron. May' physicality! Hunt great game for four quarters. Rivers excellent.

6. Trac 5. Jackson 4. Oliver 3. Kozzie 2. Lever. 1. Rivers. Special mention to May, BBB, Hibbo, Fritta, Langdon.

I thought up until Max took took those two late contested marks, that he and perhaps ANB and Spargo were the only ones just going. The rest have been scintillating. Jackson May, Kozzie, BBB, Rivers, Langdon, Harmes, Tracc, Gus...

Gee whiz!

Even if Clarko was genuinely interested in Essendon, the Bombers messed that up with loose cannons like Sheedy not knowing when to shut up.
-
Would have to be you'd reckon.
-
Surprising! Maybe a late change? If not, should consider himself unlucky with Charlie Spargo getting a gig in front of him...

With regard to Riccardi, if you're going to go after 23-year-olds you'd want to make sure they can play the game. In his first two games he kicked six goals and won rave reviews. Has pretty much done nothing since.

May was pretty darn good! McKay got a goal from a good tackle on Brayshaw. Got one over the back when the zone collapsed for some reason. Last one from a relay free? Can't remember. Given the intercept marks, massive spoils and great ball use May had a good game. Fyi, Matthew Lloyd had him second best on...

Played worse than last week and we won! But reading all the threads after the game I've established that Salem, BBB, May, Lever, Sparrow, Jordon Spargo, ANB, Jackson, Hunt etc. should be dropped or are no good! Weird that we can be so bad and beat a dog hungry Carlton!
-
Thought Jordon did some great things tonight. Won a heap of one-on-ones, brilliant tackle on Motlop, five intercepts, played the defensive wing really well. I don't know what else people want. He's paid to be boring!

Hibberd was on Jack Martin, right?

What?

Spargo out. Not sure what's happened to him. Gone from a solid contributor to invisible. In. Chandler.
