Mitch's ruckwork seemed far more competitive than Weeds. He at least nullified the contest.
-
If Jackson is out again then all options are open. Weed's ruck work and lack of physicality in the air was dismal. He can't be given another game after that.
-
As mentioned, Mitch Brown's game was far superior to Weideman's. Weed goes out for Gawn. Bedford was disappointing but they might like his pace against Geelong.
-
The umpiring was a stitch up. Plenty to like though. Tracc 30 and 3, Oliver doing Oliver things, Langdon back to his best, May and Lever holding firm. Hated the easy misses in the third quarter though. Brown and Bedford shouldn't be spraying them from 20 out.

6. Tracc 5. Oliver 4. Langdon 3. Lever 2. May 1. Viney

Time to get Preussy back! :)

Agree. Ben McKay may be worth pursuing also. Seems an unfulfilled talent.

The one thing with Hutchy is that he has pretty good contacts around the footy world. It is well known in the industry that he gets half his stories from Liam Pickering. Being a player manager I wonder if Pickering any inside info? Just as an aside, Pickering manages Karl Amon.

Could Josh Frydenberg be the new AFL CEO?

Just give the job to Benny Gale and stop with the charade... -
If Jake Spencer is the standard then he didn't disgrace himself. Otherwise, a one mark, 10 disposal game with two relatively simple misses on goal doesn't quite do it for me.

Been good all year. Play with plenty of heart.

Great game this!

Was trying to tag Oliver, right?

Now there's a hyperbolic statement!

That brutality and bravery was prevalent on so many levels. The courage Fritsch shows in the air is incredible for a guy his size and weight. Lever's running with the flight spoils and marks. Viney's kamikaze attack on the ball and the man. Toughest hombre in the comp. Harmes' in and under work. The gut running of Langdon and Jordon. Petty's want to hurt opposition players in marking contests. Jackson's tackling.
-
Bowey is really struggling at the moment. Rivers might be a better option.
-
Mmmnn, Trac 800 metres gained, Clarry 35 and two goal assists, Harmes two goals and seven tackles. All more worthy than Hibberd who benefitted from excellent team defence.
-
That second quarter was as brutal as I've seen from any team in any era.

Close to best game I've seen Viney play. Incredible. Lever superb.
-
Brutal game. 22 up we need the next three.

If Harmes is going with Neale then we need to think again.

The content-hungry media bit you have right. This is a country that has more media covering AFL than federal politics. Such are our priorities. But that is the choice of supporters who buy newspapers for the AFL gossip/news or subscribe to Fox Sports. It is no coincidence that most of these are Murdoch owned. They are experts at manufactured outrage. The media isn't feeding off woke do-gooders. The media are reporting a story that they believe will sell papers or subscriptions. For radio, the sheer number of numpties ringing talkback means that this is a significant issue. Collingwood is big news, de Goey has history . The fact that his thread is 11 pages should tell you it is in the public interest. One other thing worth mentioning is public standards towards women have changed dramatically in recent years. What's happening in Australia is mild compared to Europe and the States. At some European or US clubs, de Goey would have been sacked without a second thought. And lastly, so many people have no idea what 'woke' is! It is being aware of racial prejudice and discrimination. De Goey created a situation of his own making. Stupid is as stupid does.

Not sure to be fair Dazzler! Last year we had Max, TMac and Jacko doing that...

Weed to ruck in the forward line. Jacko to ruck in midfield and drop back behind the ball? The important thing is we have someone this weekend that can take a contested mark around the ground. The talls of Collingwood, Freo and Swans have thrashed us in recent weeks.
