Wonder whether Scott will again defend the Weed?
-
Not sure this guy is up to it. No real x factor. Mid sized, mid paced, OK kick. And do we want another winger?
-
Jack's come of the ground in consecutive games with a shoulder. Both times in considerable pain. First time it was described as a 'stinger' but that sounds like a ruse.
-
Mac Andrew four contested marks so far...Great signs.
-
Reckon the Bombers new game plan is much more attractive than ours!
-
Daniel Turner 14 marks! Wow.
-
Rohan had a hand in five of 11 goals for Geelong. That's shambolic.
-
This is absolutely correct. I am sick of the narrative ooh, ANB runs hard. Ooh, ANB is crucial to structures. Ooh, is such a great teammate. The guy is an absolute liability. Has no skill. No point of difference. A momentum killer in its worst form. Probably the worst outside mid in the comp. A protected species that needs to go. Now.
-
So, some observations: Hibberd played on Rohan (3 goals and 2 goal assists)? Got flogged but Demonland reckon he was one of our the best?! Max took 1 mark for the game? Angus went at 50 percent disposal efficiency. Langdon squibbed so many contests tonight. Petty earned one contested possession for the game Fumbles ANB keeps getting a game? Oh, I forgot he has an important role! Kozzie improved his output from 6 possessions in the past 2 games to 10 possessions. Woohoo!

Making a contest. All you can do in these conditions
-
Good/decent: Hunter, Smith, Salem, Grundy, Rivers and Viney. Bad: Brayshaw, Tracc, Max, the umpiring and whoever is playing on Rowan!
-
Signs are ominous If Tracc, Brayshaw, etc Al keep turning the ball over under little pressure we are going to be very disappointed.
-
Maybe some of these side gigs like Traccs cooking show and Max's media gigs are offsetting salary cap pressure! :)
-
Not sure which Cats will turn up... so more nervous than usual.
-
No BBB, no free kicks in front of goal!
-
Kicked three in a nine-goal win to Freo. Modra kicked 10!
-
Interesting that second among the bests for Vic Country was Kobe Shipp who is the son of former Freo player Andrew Shipp.

Just trying to be objective but it is the depth of Collingwood's midfield that makes them so dangerous. As much as we dislike him, Degoey is a dynamic player that can break lines and Sidebum is an elite user of the ball. They complement the other Pie midfielders. The more the ball was in the hands of Taylor Adams, Noble, etc. the better it was for us.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
dee-tox replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Absolutely. Their list is talent-laden perhaps like no other. Add a key position defender, maybe someone to replace Witts and another goal sneak and they are there. May still be two years before being top four but for the first time it looks sustainable. -
I may be wrong here, but the main reason we stifled Collingwood's ball movement is we condensed our first line of defence in the middle of the ground not our half forward line. So we didn't push our zone up too high and allow them to stream forward with their run and carry. Credit to all our half forwards/wingers, etc. As a result if they were able to break that first line through dump kicks, the likes of Salem, McVee, Brayshaw and Rivers were there to defend and then counter attack. I think other teams will use this as a template when they play Collingwood.

We are a much better team when Salo is up and going. It's one of the reasons we bombed last year. This time round he looks fit. I've said it before but he is as important as Clarry, Trac, May and Gawn.
-
Would love a rookie pick like Nick Martin. 192cm classy, hard running midfielder who can kick. Maybe Howes will get there but someone like Finn Callahan...
-
Why do supporters even care what ex-players or commentators say? Do we need positive affirmation from these fools and take it personally when we don't get it? Most supporters on here have far greater knowledge of our team than these buffoons. Analysis from the AFL media is atrocious (Jordan Lewis, Daisy Pearce and Montagna being the possible exceptions). Ignore it, laugh at it, whatever but don't worry about it.

He is a much better player than just someone that lays tackles...He can do it all, but at the moment is doing very little.
-
Think you are generous with the B grade. Regular six possession games don't cut it...
