No body could be worse than what ANB has been over the past month. Fumble, fumble, lose possession, fumble. Hunter will be rubbed out. Think we have to stick with JVR. Every game is experience and we have little else.
-
I want a six foot two, hard running guy with outside skills that can complement Oliver, Viney and Tracc. We don't have enough classy users on the outside. Sparrow, Jordon, ANB, Rivers, Brayshaw, etc don't do it for me. Kozzie has potential but can't get the pill
-
Is in terrible form! But then again so is Langdon, ANB, Chandler and others...
-
Ridiculous.

It's not that simple unfortunately. One or two mids can have good game and the whole midfield thrashed. Oliver, Viney and Petracca at least got us back in the third quarter. Supporting your argument May and Fritta were the only ones to really win their positions. Melb's problem is the depth of it's midfield compared to the good sides. Butters, Drew, Rozee, Boak, Horne Francis, Wines, etc are better than us. Collingwood has even better depth.
-
6. May 5. Fritta. 4. Tracc (but selfish around goals) 3. Oliver 2. Salem 1. Hunter.

Losing by less than a goal in the wet isn't the end of the world. First half was disappointing though given the importance of the game. However, the form of a few guys is a huge concern. Chandler can't get a kick any more. ANB is horrible JvR's two free kicks against plus having little impact is a worry. Grundy is not as good as many think he is. Kozzie has played one decent game for the season. Our much vaunted midfield doesn't have the depth of the best midfield.
-
My hates. 1. PA can easily go through the corridor with little pressure. 2. Gawn and Grundy are virtually a liability. 3. Kids getting shown up. McVee, Roo, Rivers, Pickett, etc MIA. 4. If we have ANB in our midfiled we are not in the top echelon of teams. Fumbles, fumbles, headless chicken. 5. May and Fritta only guys that appreciate the step up in pressure. 6. Drew flogging Tracc.
-
As predicted, its all about the midfield. Drew, Butters, Rozee, Wines, etc well on top.
-
Pretty big game this :) Will be interesting to see if the more attacking game plan stands up to decent opposition. Weaknesses tend to get exposed under high pressure. Port's midfield works very hard.
-
Sounds better every report! If we structure our picks well we might get a real bargain come draft time.
-
Pies appear to be so even all over the ground. Their midfield of De Goey, Crisp, Mitchell, Daicos, etc. bat deeper than probably every team including us. They may be vulnerable against our dual rucks though...
-
Shame for Tommy but he did sling him and Day did hit his head...
-
Absolute drivel. Hunter was terrific yesterday. What I liked was he played a more contested game this week. Attacked the ball and the man with more ferocity than the previous week. Gave a couple of frees away but i don't mind that.Number of people game him votes.
-
Quite a few gave Sparrow votes last week!

What I liked. Dynamic first quarter. Upped the pressure and Hawks folded. Petty looking like a CHF. Tracc creative but brutal. May unpassable. Only time Lewis won a one on one was a massive push in the back. Backline worked well particularly in first half. Hibbo was particularly good against Breust. Hunter looked much more physical this week. McVee again.Such a smooth mover who does everything at speed. Dislikes: Langdon is struggling. Maybe injured. Kozzie, yet to really break a game open. He threatens. ANB's fumbling.
-
6. Tracc 5. Clarry 4. Hunter. 3. Riv 2. May 1. Hibbo
-
Langers and ANB are not in very good form. Wrested back control when Max went in ruck. Tracc and Oliver good. Petty off messes up structure.
-
Good quarter! Backline excellent. Petracca on fire. Fritta looks on. May won every contest. Hibbo excellent. Pressure great.
-
Well there's 4.5 days I won't get back!

What they are saying at Waverley Park Drive

When I think Frosty (not Miller) I think of him being confused and letting Schoemakers kick the first goal only to launch a 65-metre torpedo minutes later from the kick-in to set up our first goal in the 2018 semi final against the Hawks. -
Think Jordon is a touch unlucky. Been solid without starring. That said, his first game back was excellent. Since then, it just been OK. But it is hard to know exactly what role he's been asked to play. Jordon for Spargo isn't a direct positional swap. What will mean for Kozzie, Sparrow, etc.?

Couple of random thoughts: 1. Disappointing how well GC were able to move the ball through the corridor at times. 2. Anderson was incredibly impressive especially in the third. 3. Fritsch makes our fwd line so much better/more dangerous. That he could hardly get a touch was a big factor in us only sneaking home. 4. Turner was the wrong match up for Casboult. 5. Pickett in the midfield is doing OK but needs to have much more impact. 6. Langdon had his worst game for Melbourne. 7. ANB was also virtually invisible. 8. Bailey Humphrey will be a real player. Brayshaw (?) had a lot of trouble with him late. 9. Defensively our midfield really struggled. Tracc seemed to be our biggest offender letting GC just waltz out of congestion?
-
Thought McVee was decent.

6. Viney 5. Sparrow. 4 Max 3. McVee 2. Tracc 1. Oliver?
