  1. Hang on. I thought the inside line was the signed and the reporting was just delayed? I hope we are not being held ransom by him or his management.
  2. Id love it to come back only if it was a competitive hit out. If it’s exhibition style ala Freo vs All stars it wont get anywhere. The AFL have to make a huge rivalry out of it. That is the only way it will succeed.
  3. Look i get we have had a lot - i mean - a lot of bad luck with contracts. in fact it has to be some sort of statistical anomaly - it seems like the Normmy is diversifying his curse and looking for new ways to royally screw us over. Some of our biggest and longest contracts: Brayshaw - medically retired Trac - Serious; potentially career ending injury >> never the same Oliver - can't put my finger on it, but he is struggling since the infamous hammy back in 22. Salem - Yes it was only a 5 year deal, but injuries and thyroid have plagued him ever since 2021. In hindsight, we have botched these deals. If (hypothetically) Trac and Oliver's contracts were to have concluded say last year - in the heart of our list crisis, i think they would have been RFA (not UFA). Given their salaries, would have netted us each a top 10 pick (pick 6 and pick 7). This would have given us so many options (5,6,7). Langford, Tauru, Lindsay and we would have kept 2026 pick 1. Now ill concede nobody would have predicted this downfall back in 2021 - i mean nobody, but boy i cant really see why we would be handing out long term contracts willy nilly after that. I love Kozzy and am glad he has stuck with us, but had he wanted to leave, he would have gotten us 2 maybe 3 first round picks. I just hope he doesn't succumb to any ill fate like the others we have signed up.
  4. Something in the water at Casey. I dont think i have seen any other club in modern AFL history take a premiership list full of mid 20's and a handful in their 30s and then have so many underperforming premiership players that are still 20 something. It actually beggars belief. And to then have salt rubbed into the wound, you see Collingwood with a playing list that is full of 30 somethings have an unbelievable season.
  5. If that were to happen, guaranteed it would happen to us and then the AFL would change the rules the year after.
  6. He was absolutely torn a new one when they tried him in the middle throughout the year.
  7. I have mixed feelings about Lever. You would have thought unreadable - backbone of the club etc etc. but in other ways he is emblematic of the broader issues at the club. The standards and leadership are severely lacking. Is it unfair he gets called out? No. We have all called out Oliver, Trac, Viney and others on their lack of impact and leadership, leaving it all up to Gawn. You just have to look at Melksham, the bloke is on the verge of retirement as is playing his best footy. If half the other players had come with him, we’d be playing finals, but far too many are miles off their best footy. Should we trade him? Who’d honesty take him is my view. The guy is in the way down. If we were able to get a first rounder, even a future first. Take it and run.
  8. We were talking with him.
  9. Capable being the key term. I can just as easily see us here in 5 years time entering another rebuild.
  10. Putting aside our dismal performance for the year but we have been on the end of some really poor umpiring decisions at critical moments
  11. Well you do me a better makeup then?
  12. Curtin looked like a deer in the headlights last year and very much looked a bust. My view is that a lot of our youth look miles behind the competition because they are part of a side that is critically underperforming.
  13. Next year midfield. I think the club know this is the direction. They cannot just let kids in there atm otherwise we will be absolutely smashed every week. Langford, Rivers, Kozzy. Rotations by: JV, Sparrow, Kolt Wings: Windsor, XL. Rotations: Chin, Langdon Sestan(?) Trac can either PO or spend the rest of his career in the Forward Line. Oliver: GONESKY.
  14. Where would we be this without Melksham. Its embarassing for the rest of our forwards that a nearly 35 year old is more dangerous than them.
  15. I tuned in for 5 minutes to watch Crows kick 3 on the fly and we couldn’t go inside 50. Switched it off.
  16. I’m convinced as well. You need skillful, athletic and smart players more than just contested beasts
  17. And that is what Goody is trying to find. Kudos to him for trying but I think the fractures in this list are too much to overcome. We were able to put aside the egos for a year or two and it worked. There is a lack of trust in a football sense.
  18. How was that not deliberate He’s protected if you try and get rough with him the umps will ping you … wasn’t a problem when they were a ragging Gawn, Trac and Oliver. But because it’s Nick, can’t have it.
  19. Am I a bad person to wish Collingwood a few season ending injuries?
  20. How that’s not a 50 against Maynard. Again Pies just get the 50/50 calls.
  21. Does Voss survive tonight if this blows out to 100pts
  22. How was Sam Darcy in his pre draft year? Can we dare to dream?
  23. Still amazes me how umps don’t miss a free when it’s Collingwood. Have seen half a dozen not paid to Carlton
  24. Im with you 100% on the players too. They have been really poor from attitude perspective. Goody made a massive bet on the love & connection & healing. In hindsight, he should have just stuck to footy and the gameplan. I reckon Goody has had his chance to turn this around. Im not calling for his head right this instant. I think we let him coach until the end of the year. if we can finish with a positive ledger for the remaining games, knock off Collingwood and ultimately start to see something to give us hope into next year, particularly around i50 method, improvement on scores against and overall defensive profile. Then i could buy into the idea that we have turned it around and the new game plan is starting to take effect. Anything failing that, in particular, if we have a few beltings in the order of 10 goals, have more quarters like we did against GCS, then im afraid change is needed. That goes for the players too. Anyone that is not invested 100% in the remaining part of the season, murmurings of trade desires etc. Put them straight on the trade block. Dont care who it is - we cannot continue to have disharmony in the playing group.
  25. The other element is we could load the backed of the new coaches contract somewhat allowing us to pay less in year 1 in order to move Goody on. It means we will likely forgo an additional assistant with increase in FD cap but I don’t mind the idea of the new coach having a year with the assistants to work out what he needs from ‘27 and beyond. This is why it’s critical to move on Goody now. First year of a new coach is always going to be somewhat a waste.
