Gabs didn’t look happy when she came off the field and was talking with Tess (the W doc). It stood out because she’s usually super upbeat. I feel bad for her, she never gets a good run without issues.

You make a good point but geez it’s hard not to get excited. Andy runs without issue, he moves really well and he looks great. He hasn’t lost any of his enthusiasm and his smile is even bigger than before, if that’s even possible.

Kolt has gained a couple of years of maturity in the space of two months. Honestly, I’ve never seen a stronger case of “smartened up” ever. Idk what he was told in his exit meeting but whatever it was it’s working a treat. There’s residual cheekiness when talking to me in private but on the whole he’s grown up a bunch.

Just letting folks know that immediately following the men’s session this morning the W will be running out for a session. Their session goes from 10:30 - 12:30. It would be great to see spectators hang around for it, even part of it. I understand not everyone has the luxury of working around training sessions as I do, but the girls are currently in a finals campaign and need more love and support than ever. So, if you can, please stay around for the W.

Edo turns 26 today 🥳 And I have it on very good authority she will be re-signing with us. Here’s why: the reason for the delay is because her partner Nikita didn’t think she’d get a contract extension with her club - the MCC FC in the VAFA - and was thinking of going back to WA. Nikita has been given a contract therefore is staying put in Victoria. I’m still smarting from JuddGate so was loath to post this but as I said, my source is reliable.

I got a totally different vibe from Checkers and Jack (Steele). Both really lovely guys but both had the air of a kid at a new school. I warmly welcomed both and told them they’re gonna love it at our club and they’ll settle in soon enough. Two new players who are decency personified.

After training I hugged CJ and some of the boys were saying Hey, looks like Ghosty has a new favourite player! And I’m like Yep, I sure do! Then Oscar (Berry) said, “I thought I was your new favourite! You gave me a nice hug before.” (He’s new, he’s yet to learn I hug anything that moves 😁) I told them they’re both my new favourite players and we were all having a good laugh about it, until… on the other side of the tent I spotted Luker and he was shaking his head in disgust and muttering under his breath something something not loyal something something. He told CJ and Oscar “Don’t fall for it. You’ll be her favourite ‘til someone else comes along.” 😅. Then he really hammed it up, he said, “She has #44 on her jumper and wears my badge, and now she treats me like chopped liver!” 😅 I assured Luker I won’t be changing jumper numbers and Oscar said “Only because she doesn’t yet know what number I’ll be wearing.” 🤣

No soccer balls. No S&Gs. No clowning around. Serious AF training. Kingy has such a presence out there, he’s an imposing figure. But like with many man-mountains he’s a sweet person, to me anyways 😊

Taylor W will do a great job. He’s now head of development and Rory Atkins is development coach. Chappy said this is new since we didn’t have someone in Rory’s role before now.
