  1. He was on crutches at the last match.
  2. Houston reportedly said to Rankine “the last time I saw you, you were horizontal” referring to their previous clash during which Houston knocked Rankine out. Rankine lashed out at this comment and Quaynor backed up Houston at which time Rankine made the offending comment. If Adelaide fans were to boo anyone for a reason other than the homophobic slur issue, wouldn’t it be Houston? Or wouldn’t they split the booing between Houston and Quaynor? Yeah, they were definitely booing Quaynor for being (in their eyes) the reason Rankine was suspended.
  3. Danika looked great, very impressive. Quick and light on her feet. Took on drills with enthusiasm and seemed to revel in being out there. At the end of the session her academy chaperone (for want of the proper term) was genuinely delighted with how she went. Lots of praise and she was super proud. She’s also a sweet kid and has an infectious smile.
  4. I reckon Lily wore her poor boyfriend out. 😅
  5. Ghosty thinks Meggs is too conservative. As Paxy Paxman said (quote) We’ll [censored] smash ‘em 😂
  6. The general vibe was awesome. Everyone’s quietly confident of a solid win tomorrow, with the exception of one who’s not so quiet… I said all the “right” things to Paxy about tomorrow… a win’s not a given, every game is a challenge, you can’t take oppo for granted etc. Paxy cuts me off and says “Yeah nah we’ll [censored] smash ‘em.” 😂
  7. It is. But it’s always serious. No S&Gs here, even though it’s a captain’s run. They train hard and they train long. The session was scheduled to run for an hour. When I left it had gone an extra half hour and they were still out there. I guess I make it sound like it’s a real hoot but that’s because I interact with them before and after the session and yeah, they’re so much fun. But once they hit the park… it’s serious and intense af.
  8. Was introduced to Mr Hore, father of Kate. We had an in-depth discussion on hand-warmers and whether you should put them in your shoes. We agreed to disagree 😁
  9. I met a new girl today, Danika McDonald, a 16yo from Alice Springs who trained with the team and will train with them for a couple of weeks. She’s an NGA product. She hopes to one day be on our list ❤️💙
  10. Lampy is training separately as though rehabbing 🤷‍♀️
  11. Each player has a family member/friend with them as a training partner. Banno’s mum Shaz is a crackup… so keen. A couple of dads getting shown up by their daughters 😅Lily Johnson’s boyfriend is her training partner.
  12. Paxy acknowledged they were bloody lucky to get away with the win, that they were complacent and let things happen that they usually wouldn’t let happen. Blaithin, Goldy and Tahls are in great spirits considering. The smile on Gabby’s face is gold. She’s so happy to be playing.
  13. Trigger alert: there’s a soccer ball here!!!
  14. The girls are due out on the park any minute now. I just got here (thanks PTV, you suck) to find out the VFL captain’s run just wrapped up and I missed it 😭
  15. Maynard took Nibs down in what looked like a dangerous spear-tackle. Ben Keays understandably took umbrage to this.
  16. That’s more like it. You’re a wise man, Layz 😊
  17. I watched the match but I can’t remember if the commentators mentioned the booing of Isaac. I mean, it was crystal clear, especially when you consider Adelaide supporters loves them a boo-fest. So you know the booing of Isaac was bad when it could be so easily discerned amongst the booing of, well, everything.
  18. You fixin’ for fisticuffs, Layz? 😜 They have 112,000 members. So they should have many travelling interstate!
  19. Jaded has explained above. We were just filthy on all the praise they got for making the trip. Of course fans make the trip for a final, especially when their club facilitates the means for getting there. I bet most of those same folks don’t get to H&A interstate games or interstate W games. We pride ourselves on being recognised by the AFL as the team whose cheer squad travels interstate the most frequently and in bigger numbers. And that’s us paying our own way. You never hear commentators remark on that. No, but they’ll kiss the Magpie Army’s filthy arze when they go all the way to faraway Adelaide…I’m outta control now… somebody slap me! 😅
  20. What irks me is that their club subsidised buses to take them to Adelaide. Booooo! And everyone commented on how many of them made the trip. Double Boooooooo!
  21. I just dismissed everything you said before this bit 😁
  22. I was thinking the other way around: I’d back GWS more so than Hawthorn to knock them off. That might be wishful thinking though, do NOT wanna see Hawthorn advance.
  23. And if it did happen, they’d get him off at the tribunal.
  24. You do realise pre-finals ladder position is determined by number of wins in the H&A season, not just the results of Round 24, right?
