Moved to Melbourne from NZ in mid-1999. Hard core rugby fan, but realised pretty quickly I'd be an outcast in this town if I didn't follow the game and choose a team. Spent rest of the year learning what the sport was about and resisting recruitment attempts from Carlton, Collingwood & Essendon supporters. Entered a tipping competition in season 2000, still undecided. Settled on Melbourne a few weeks into the season cause I liked the colours, the themesong, the Demons name, loved Jeff Farmer, they were fun to watch and it annoyed the @#$% out of my friends who followed aforementioned teams. Won tipping competition. Got 3 tickets to each week of the finals, including Grand Final. (should have been 6 tickets, but I choked in the last round and half to split 1st prize with someone else 😭 ) Brought my Mum over from NZ and we saw the Dees play in 3 out of 4 weeks at the G. Solidified my/our hatred for Essendon. Signed my Mum up as a member, and she now comes over every year for a couple of games. For the most part I now find rugby boring as hell, except internationals involving the All Blacks. My Mum, who still lives in NZ is a full AFL convert and likes it more than rugby too. When telling her friends about the teams she follows and the teams she hates, she refers to Collingwood as "the filth".

Over the offseason, I have changed from club membership to AFL, with MFC obviously as my club of support. Does anyone with same membership as me have any idea (maybe from previous seasons) when the pack for AFL MFC members will arrive? And would it come via the club, or the AFL itself? I've gotten very used to having my pack from the MFC well before Xmas, and this is the first time in a long time that it's not been here by now.

After all the departures, retirements, trade ins & rookie upgrades, didn't that just leave us with 2 free spots on the list? Meaning if we get Billings, it'd now just be 1 ?

I'm just as interested to see how the Colli-[censored] supporters react the first time he gets his trademark free against them in a Hawks geurnsey. After all their carry on defending his knee dropping & shoulder raising, surely they wouldn't boo now, right? 😉

+1 Our current default style of bombing it to a pack would be perfect for AN, as he'd likely come down with it half the time. Then the rest of the time when we get it in fast and with more purpose, step up Petty/JVR/Fritsch.

Schache offeres nothing imo. I'd prefer keeping Chandler or bringing in Woey, having Petracca spend more time forward and Chandler/Woey picking up the slack in the middle.

LOL, when does Harmes ever not come up in the "has received interest from...." conversation? This would be at least the 3rd or 4th season straight. Is it legit this time, or are these just more unimaginative rumours from people who do nothing more than cast their eye over "ok" players who arent getting a game at the time? If it's true then good luck to him. He has been good for us, but I think he's fringe at best now and could do with more opportunity elsewhere if he can get it.

I don't like speculating on this sort of thing because it is so subjective, but to me his demeanor at the opening training didn't look like someone who was happy to be there. Just seemed to just be going through the motions. Cant blame him to be honest.
