  1. Gawn's temporary new nickname: One or Two Good Games Max.
  2. I have a gangly black humanoid figure as an avatar so I clearly can't be racist. But your suggestion that I belt sweeping generalisations up my censored as a punitive measure rather than something that might be enjoyable makes me think that you could be possibly homophobic.
  3. Adversed; Momentum that existed in a direction away from that which was desired (like last year's game plan). You may still not be aversed but as far as I understand that condition would only be correct after the fact of Hogan not being selected and probably remains malappropriate with regard your intended meaning. Averse to. Sincere apologies for the pedantry.
  4. In Asia? Wouldn't want to make sweeping generalisations, like asking someone who believes in drug decriminalisation if they're a user, but sounds like you're quite accepting of the local laissez fair attitude toward prostitution.
  5. And before anyone chimes in, please note that I’m not basing this assessment on Colin’s general mien, which has admittedly changed little since his arrival. For all I know, Addam Maric was the happiest he’s ever been while at the Dees, and I’d be perfectly content if Hoges never once got caught in public cracking a smile. But it’s meaningless to discuss Garland’s relative merits without reference to a bottom-dollar framework, and if we want to keep Col at the club we must pay at least what others are willing to do so while also factoring in that the equivalent of his likely compo bought us a Frost last year for probably a lot less coin. The current admin has clear form on the matter of free agency and contract fishing; expect Colin to be low-balled by us and amicably walk in favour of ‘greener’ pastures in a win for all parties.
  6. Garland will walk for more $50s and less i50s if they're on offer - the poor guy looks semi-perma shell-shocked and who could possibly blame him? And we'll let him do so if it means some flexible trade currency through an additional second-rounder. It's been speculated that he's in our current upper-tier cap-bracket - is he in our top eleven players going forward? Would he be happy with the potential pay-cut?
  7. Edit: Forgot about Brock.
  8. It sickens me to think that the Demons playing group might also be harbouring a self-serving snitch.
  9. Why are people still talking about Hannerbery and Kennedy? We offered Spangher wtf? Is this just being dismissing this as patently false? And can't we just develop Fitz into our weird cult voodoo totem to sit in the stands and watch us win a flag?
  10. I hope we wouldn't offer 7 years to anyone outside of Hogan but if we were to scribble out Dan-Han's name at the top the alleged actual contract offer and insert JPK's instead - an offer akin or lesser to what people are suggesting we give Danger, - and considering his age profile and a possible parting with pick 5ish + ? - I think I would be elated.
  11. This sounds a far more convincing and reasonable scenario so I'm going to take it as gospel.
  12. Oh god - those idiots on the Gold Coast that draft him are going to market him as Schache-attack.
  13. I'm still convinced Roosy and co. were cooking up something re. Sydney last year before the AFL nixed their player-trades and we suddenly shopped Trengove out for a first-round pick. Just not sure what we might have been interested in in that section of the draft. Or maybe Roos just gets a kick out of trolling Collis - Perris, Dew, Heeney & maybe now Hannerbery. Though he does tend to compliment Kennedy every chance he gets.
  14. Strangely, I consider the loss to Port in Alice after the bye the best we'd played all year.
  15. Why are people still discussing Garland? Has this just been dismissed as patently false? It's massive if there's even a skerrick of truth to the rumour . . . A 24 y/o rejects a seven year contract at over 7million dollars in favour of a five year deal a year and a half out from the end of his current contract with free agency looming. With COLA coming to an end what could Sydney possibly be paying him? Has Roosy spooked his old club with a gambit to pry someone else loose? WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JOSH P KENNEDY
  16. Hogan gets hit by the regular bus. #fistedforever
  17. . . . this strange thing where I have to keep reminding myself that he isn’t one of our father-sons. There’s something almost destined or dynastic about Gus being at the Dees, like he’s been part of the fabric forever and there’s absolutely no question that he or Viney would ever go elsewhere. Maybe it’s because of his AIS stint with us and the sense that he was always our genuine first choice pick. Maybe I’m channeling the future. Or maybe he’s just a kid with ten games to his name who seems to actually give a stuff and the Geelong game has softened my brain?
  18. Fitzpatrick bagged more goals in his single game in the Top End than Dawes has managed so far this year and Spencer has for his entire career (and I still blame Dawes for losing us that same match against the Bears by getting outmuscled and dropping a couple sitters in the last). But if we want to use Dawes to crash the packs, which Hogan will provide as well – freeing Howe from that second role from last week – then we need the same level of crumb and Spencer misses out. Fitzy in for back-up ruck duties while Gawn rests forward and Howe covers in defence (with the possibility of switching with Fitz down back depending on the conditions/opposition). Garland in for Bail. One of the Glenelg besties back down to sub. In: Hogan, Fitzpatrick, Garland Out: Spencer, Bail, Riley
  19. No catharsis necessary. Give the lad a week off - just the standard managing the veterans. .
  20. Can't wait to finally witness those midfield explosions when Roosy sends JV over to take care of Ollie.
  21. How about playing Harry high? We're not getting a great return from his running off half-back and he would add some defensive pressure up forward. Already kicked more goals than Howe this year . . .
  22. Perhaps MFCSS speaking, but it seemed the only players on our list outside of Tmac to have shown some positive signs of individual improvement so far this year were Viney (426), Salem (426) and Kent (?).
