But maybe not sacking our coach this time around is the key to finally breaking our Norm Smith Curse. Like in a Disney movie about redemption. Have we ever not sacked a coach since? I can't remember/(be arsed looking it up).

I'd personally prefer he spent his time at training practicing his field-kicking.

Current footballers - Who is the ugliest?

Skuit the social justice warrior demands this thread closed . . . though Angus Brayshaw would probably be better served by a different haircut. -
How did you end up following the Mighty Dees?

I nominate that a non-game/current team-related distraction thread be started after every loss. -
An argument could be made that Tommy actually cost us the game, that the urgency lifted and some of the delivery improved out of the center in the last, or, that the mere structural reshuffle and having an extra competitive body up front, any body, threw the opposition off their game, and that, really, TMac’s terrible kicking skills blew the only chance we had when we finally got a run-on. An argument could also be made that when the delivery is as bad as it was, an intercept styled defender promoted up front has an advantage in not having to worry about such silly things as leading patterns and being where the ball is meant to be, but can basically play as a forward in the style of a loose defender and just assess where it will probably arrive instead – the same uncanny way that errant forward entries always seem as if deliberately kicked directly down the throat of an unmarked opposition sweeper.

These are good points. If they're just going to stand around, we should get Jeremy to just stand around at about 40m on the left half-forward flank boundary-line and Chris on the right (where they have each kicked them from before) to occupy two defenders and instruct them to spoil over the line for a forward stoppage if it comes their way and to then quickly drop a kick behind play.

Fitzpatrick was injured

We can play Tmac as a defender up forward on Dawes. With his mobility, he can lead Dawes up the ground to the ball and create space for Hogan, and if the ball is bombed in as per usual Tommy can defend against Dawes' attempts to split the contest and spoil toward one of our crumbers.

My auntie was a mad Glenelg supporter and took my older brother to his first SANFL match against Norwood shortly before I was born. She also gave him 50c to lay a bet and when it returned $1.50 on a Redlegs win she reclaimed her stake and then split the winnings. Feeling financially aggrieved as a kid he decided out of spite to support the Leggies from thereon in. I followed suit and then carried the colour scheme to the VFL, wondering so often since how much that 50c quibble from before my existence has ended up costing me in real terms. I suppose it at least saved me from being a Richmond fan. Jakovich & Tingay. The 1998 season backing up from the spoon. Mark Neeld 2011 was fun. -
Let's one by one move all our backmen forward and then out the door through free agency so we can replace them with inexperienced compo picks in a self-regenerating cycle of eternal cellar-dwelling.

'Electric' obviously refers to AC/DC - i.e Adam Cooney/Daniel Cross, or more specifically, recycled Dogs, and then 'mouse' must clearly then be rhyming slang for Luke Dahlhaus, which in German translates to 'dull house full of dread' - otherwise Etihad, and then naturally 'Eddie had', as in an ex-Magpies player, such as say Lamumba, which is Swahili for 'he who is gifted games and rode in on a white horse' with 'rode in' most likely being Rodan, who played for the Power, and horse referring to both heroin and the 'Long Mire' of addiction as well as those clockers who service them = Clark is a junkie? -
One of the knocks in our wins last year was commonly inferior numbers as to scoring shots but I think it was a matter of guarding space and pushing opposition forward possessions deep and wide. Without a careful study, I suspect we're still trying to attempt this but with a lot less success. And you got about as much nibbler as we did today.

Apologies. Fair enough. But I thought slander referred to false statements? -
T'Mac forward? Really? It's not even a left-field speculative suggestion as we saw the evidence first-hand today. How about we teach our forwards how to mark a ball before we try to teach our backs how to kick straight in the forward line?

Just say it already. I live overseas and don't have a network of bitter gossipy Victorian private-school hint hint mates who didn't make the grade. Are people worried about getting done for libel on an anonymous internet site? If not depression or injury, why did Clark leave us, what was he being sledged for by the Hawks, and why is he out now? -
And apparently old Biffen gave up the [censored] this week as well. Poor sod.

Somewhere back around the late 90's teams started to win premierships off half-back. Our slingshot seems to be jammed.

I'll have you know that I'm actually a corporate lawyer and part-time seal-clubber. Not sure why I stir up your grumpy side more than others. Joe the supposed spud kicked half their score today while our Great White Hogan caught a case of the Dawes.
-
I'm not superstitious but I just don't see the need to call anyone in the AFL a spud from the sanctity of my couch. Must hurt more for those who do when those such termed players inevitably play well against the Dees.

And Watts can go and sit on a selfie-stick for that last effort. Quoteth Jack: We’ll look at the game from last weekend and see how St Kilda did it. We’ve had a quick look and the way they defended with their intensity and pressure was probably the key point, so we’re going to have to bring that.

For those who felt it necessary to call Daniher a spud before the match - serves you right. As for me saying I was happy that Baguley was playing, well . . .
