Just the normal ups and downs any young, inexperienced footballer has. Takes time and some experience to build consistency.

I still have some concerns about Voss. He has some good qualities but he can also be stubborn, play favourites with certain players and can get caught out with in game tactical shifts at times. Actually, I think je has a lot of similarities with Goodwin. Some additional tactical support for him wouldn't go astray. If the Blues don't make the top 4 this season I suspect Voss will be on the way out ...

I think a quality tall defender to partner Weitering is more of a missing piece then a half back when we already have solid stocks there with Saad, Docherty (coming back from injury), McGovern, Boyd, young Cowan and young Ollie Hollands who can also play there. I know Houston is quality and his kicking into the forward 50 is what we want but if Weitering goes down our flag tilt is over before it starts. Now, Sam De Koning would fit into this jig-saw puzzle nicely IMHO ...

^^ he will be 28 years old next season.

Most definitely. They are trying to push an outcome. It is as clear as day. MFC should be digging in their heels. Its not like there is another huge incoming star trade so the cap space is desperately needed right now. If a decent offer is not on the table Clarry should be playing with the Dees in 2025. If he needs to spend time at Casey, so be it. Another alternative path is that Clarry gets his act together, Trac is back and the Dees start next year well ... then who knows ...
-
What are they smoking at Alberton, 1st round pick this year AND next year. Just not gling to happen, lol.
-
If Clarry plays like he did this season the Dees won't be contending anyway. Early in the season he had a few good games. He was a passenger for the rest of the year and in some games he was a mere shadow of his former self. He isn't Clarry from 2021. I question if he will ever get back to that but if he can get back to 80 or 85% of the old Clarry in time, he is still a good footballer. Clarry isn't the first star sportsman to drive their sporting career into the ground due to outside factors, won't be the last. The real question is how disruptive is he to the rest of the squad, team dynamic? I have no insights into that ... 🤔

Was talking about Owies to my cousins last night (fellow 'Baggers) and they were saying we might be exploring someone like Papley, yes he is a better forward and all round player but Papley has not stood up when it really counts, in a grand final! Despite some of his limitations Owies does actually kick goals regularly, consistently (which I quite like in a forward, lol). Reckon if he was in a grand final he could kick a couple and not go missing like some Swans "stars". We are hoping he stays in Navy Blue. Just give him another $100K and be done with it, he wants to remain in Navy Blue. If he does goes to the Dees, hope he kicks even more than this season to stick it to those at Princes Park that opened the door for him on the way out 😁

I rate Jimmy, was hoping he could be enticed to take Brad Lloyd's role at Princes Park 😁 Would be handy to have at the Dees ...

I think it was $280 this year but also going to $350 next year. Reckon I will just go for Kayo basic from Feb next year rather than a club digital membership. I don't really use it much over summer, might have caught a Serie A soccer game or MLB baseball occasionally but not must viewing for me. Then might just get a 3 game Dees membership in addition to my Blues membership instead.
-
I suspect Kayo have clamped down on this. I switched from direct Kayo subscription to a Demons Digital membership for a $120 saving this season.

SDK to join his brother TDK at Carlton for season 2026 is my bet.
-
Harry is not on the market and he doesn't want to go anywhere. This has been made clear to everyone recently when his name was floated (with no basis in reality) with Petracca possibly leaving the Dees. Barrett probably just wants to generate cheap clicks and views, a barrel scraper.
-
Partially true. Cripps was the Carlton midfield this season. Sam Walsh had a parial pre-season and ongoing back issues (and still got 16 votes) and Cerra had multiple hamstrings, barely played this season. If Walsh was fully fit, there is no way known Cripps could get 45 votes this season. Next season, Trac will take votes off Crippa so two Brownlows it will have to have to be for PC9. Hmmm #9, #5 ... 1995 ... its all starting to make sense now 😜

Barrett is a bottom feeder that tries to generate 'stories'. Just saw him on the Sunday Footy Show trying to trade Harry McKay out of Carlton again, this time to Brisbane Lions 🤦♂️
-
When playing for Carlton, I haven't found him lazy when playing. He tackles, chases, has intensity. I think there were question marks about his training work ethic though.
-
Definitely an issue at Princes Park. https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/1621986/russell-to-step-away-at-seasons-end

I think Bont was hard done by not to garner more votes but also Treloar had a great season and would have taken votes off him. IIRC Bont had a quiet start to the season but was huge in the middle/later part of the season. As for the Bont v Cripps question raised by some, I would always take Cripps. He carried Carlton on his lonesome in the disastrous years, Bont was playing in a Premiership winning team as a 3rd year footballer. Cripps has definitely faced more adversity in football. This isn't a sleight on Bont either, just recognition that Cripps has travelled a very bumpy footballing road in the early years.
-
Sam Walsh with 16 votes. He had an injury interupted season and on going back issues. If he was fully fit he would have pulled a fair few votes away from Cripps.
-
Cripps has been incredibly consistent this season. Only one or two so-so games. Has really improved on some areas of his game as well. I expected him to poll very well. Even in games where Carlton were poor overall, he usually stood out. Some of the other Blues 'stars' could learn something about consistency from the Captain ...

Gus is all class [watching the Brownlow right now] 🥂

Bingo. Accurate and succint summary 👍😊
-
Sam to Princes Park, simpler to orchestrate and cheaper for MFC too 😉 Carlton needs to shred the Houston file though.

I don't think MFC will be getting a 5 year lease with 1 option to renew. There will certainly be specific long term leasing arrangements made. Also, the land where the admin/training building is on may possibly not be Crown Land, some portions of land outside the race tract at Caulfield RC are held by the MRC as freehold. The two training ovals will certainly be on Crown Land though. Might even be subject to a specific Act of Parliament as Princes Park is. If you want freehold land then you have to look at urban fringe like Tullamarine or Dingley. If you want an inner urban area a long term lease is far more likely. As mentioned abive, people in the A.C.T. still purchase real estate on 100 year leases.

Christian, blink twice.
