Melbourne Football Club - The CEO
Was driving around on Saturday taxi service duty (picking up daughter from language school) and accidentally tuned in ... thought he did a pretty good job and liked how he said that Goodwin is one of only 4 MFC Premiership coaches and that whenever he comes back to visit the club the red carpet will always be rolled out for him. Take that Caro! ๐

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
I have no in depth knowledge of the world of assistant coaches but he seems to hsve good credentials and congrats on the Dees for going with a novice senior coach. Looking forward to seeing what style of play the Dees will have in 2026 ๐ PS - I reckon Buckley is Tasmania bound.

2025 Membership Ladder
Just on the Dogs and Saints, Doggies had deals like $1 memberships on the proviso thst the following year was full price and St Kilda had $7 3 game packages for 2026 recently. I would be curious what each club's full home adult membership numbers are? ๐ค Too often its a case of comparing apples with oranges.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Warner signed a 2 year extension earlier this year (so contracted to the end of 2027).
-
Marcus Windhager
Who would have thought that throwing obscene sums of money at Tom De Koning and Jack Silvagni might upset current, valued players at the Saints ๐

Mitch McGovern
Blues to keep Mitch McGovern on a reduced contract I reckon. He can have some good games and moments but hasn't played up to his potential most of the time. A 1 year contract might give him the focus he needs.
-
Jimmy Bartel
He would be a good pick up for the Dees I reckon.

Training Ground?
In the train heading in to town and passing Caulfield RC/Station precinct right now. This third proposed site at the Racecourse is the best of the options having been suggested. Finally looks like some real 'movement at the station' is occuring. Positive signs for the Dees ๐

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
They have been there, done that, not happening again ๐ Graham Wright has given Voss 2026 to see what he can do with some big changes in the Football Department and in the playing list to come too. Interesting times ahead ...

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Wasn't really a fan of Buckley when he was the C'Wood coach but I loathe everything connected to that club ๐ I have listened to him on SEN and on Foxtel and he does show some sound analysis and some introspection from his time as a senior coach. He certainly would have a burning desire to be a Premiership coach. I think the whole process is set up for him and he will be the Dees coach in 2026.

Training Ground?
Aren't they going to reuse elements and materials from the old Jack Dyer stand in the new stand? If it is well designed and executed with taste it could be a win for new modern facilities with a nod to its history as well. Lets see what it looks like when finished.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Only caught the 3rd & 4th quarters (still on euro time) and it was an entertaining game and the Dees can take lots of positives out of it. Any new prospective coach woulld be watching and thinking "I have something to work with here ...".

NON-MFC: Round 21
TDK has been [censored] ever since the Saints dangled that obscene contract in front of him.

NON-MFC: Round 21
Pleasantly positive start by the Blues. CFC have a pretty good record in the West against both clubs in the last few years, mind you ... lets see what the second quarter brings ..

NON-MFC: Round 21
