Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
Jackson wouldn't be the first West Australian player to head home to Perth to then find out they actually miss life in Melbourne. One of the reasons Carlton were able to pick up Blake Acres from Freo. If a Kozzy for Jackson swap was actually on the cards, I would go for it.

NON-MFC: Opening Round 2025
I have been saying for some time that the Pies will fall off a cliff with their age structure, hopefully I will finally be right 😁 They only had a few flashes of the Collingwood of yesteryear and generally looked like a plodding lower mid table side and not a real contender. Only Round 1 but good to see a heavy loss to kick the season off. I took my son to Princes Park this morning for the open training session, watched the Pies in a 50+ point loss on TV this arvo and had a beer and a swim at the beach this evening. What an awesome day! (with a public holiday tomorrow) 😀

NON MFC: 2025 Practice Matches
Watching Giants v Blues. I don't take too much stock in practice games but liking the endeavour and mindset from Carlton. Looking better defensively. Silvagni down back makes sense. Young Lucas Camporeale looks like he belongs. Kemp filling on for Curnow up forwards looks alright. I think McGovern rolled an ankle rather than pulling a hammy. Roll on Round 1 against the Tigers, hopefully it will be a safari ...

Information for Rd 01 vs GWS
It certainly doesn't have the character and charm of the MCG.

Information for Rd 01 vs GWS
Agreed that the roof should be open on sunny days. The flipside is I have watched games where it is raining and or blowing a gale outside, the roof is very welcome then.

Information for Rd 01 vs GWS
I don't get the Marvel Stadium hostility (yes I go to plenty of Carlton home games there). I too prefer the MCG but Marvel is still a decent place to watch footy. Especially if it is bad weather. Its also great for accessing drinks/,food/bathrooms, better than the MCG in that aspect. Transport is easy too being next to Southern Cross Station. If you get say 30K+ you can get a pretty good atmosphere too.

Digital Membership
There used to be really good deals available for digital club memberships that included Kayo. Last season I ditched my usual Kayo subscription for a Demons Digital Membership. I saved $100 and helped out the Dees. Seems that Kayo tightened this 'loophole' so cheaper Kayo is no longer available via club digital memberships.

Jeez how good is Harvey Langford looking!
I know the Blues were looking at him very closely and rated him highly. I agree that he will probably be in the mould of a Cripps rather than a Petracca. Time will tell though. He looks like one that will be ready to go now in terms of senior AFL football. The Dees did well with him.

Dees being seriously underrated
There is still the nucleus of 2021 Premiership side, Tracc and Clarrie should be back into it wanting to prove points and there has been good young draftee recruiting over the last few years. I am expecting JVR to step up a notch now. I am tipping the Dees to be in the top 4 mix.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Wednesday 22nd January 2025
Still on holidays from work and looking after my son before kindergarten resumes for him next week so I took him to the training session this morning as he complained to me recently that he misses football. He enjoyed the outing and watching the players train and scored a free Viney drink cup when we bought some snags from the DA stand. Events like this will be much better when a real home base (hopefully Caulfield) can be established as there you can have permanent established facilities like a fan shop, cafe, club museum etc. I couldn't catch much on the field as I was looking after my son but Clarry did stand out and was looking good. Tipping him for a big year.

MEMBERSHIP TALLY 2025
I ended up stuck in that same loop. Wasn't too fussed about a scarf but wanted the membership ticket given that I had issues with my electronic membership in 2023. When the membership pack arrived it came with scarf and membership card. Now at the multiverse MCG, Blues No.31 can shout at No.31 wearing a Dees scarf 😁

Trac cracked rib
Sounds relatively minor. It should have minimal impact on his pre-season. Carry on ...

Training Ground?
Wouldn't it be owned by the State of Victoria as Crown Land (and goverened by the Racecourse Reserve Trust)? Agreed on Waverley, if it was any good as a training facility in 2025 the Hawks would not be ditching it. If Caulfield was to fall through, staying put at Gosch's/AAMI would make sense.

Training Ground?
Police investigate suspicious fire in stands at Caulfield Racecourse in Melbourne's south-east I can't see it having any real impact on MFC's plans on the Glen Huntly side of the precinct.

Compliments of the Season
Happy Feativus all 🥂 May you feats be strong and your grievances few! 😁

Training Ground?
If you want government funding, you need the AFLW angle. Also using it for NGA purposes might be an idea. As for the second oval, I think Freo has a digital line marking machine. They can select the dimension of say Marvel Stadium and it will set out the dimensions for Marvel so in the lead up to an away game there, they can practice on it. A good idea. Something the Dees should consider.

Training Ground?
Gone are the days when 1 oval is sufficient, now it is minimum 2 ovals. Each club has two male teams (AFL & VFL) and two female teams (AFLW and VFLW). Ideally one oval has the dimensions of the MCG.

Training Ground?
Waverley Park is inferior to Gosch's Paddock/AAMI: centrality, transport links and scope for improvement (Melb Rebels are no more and Melb Storm are moving to a new facility). 1. Caulfield; 2. Gosch's/AAMI; 3. Daylight; 4. Hawks hand me down in Mulgrave.

Training Ground?
He shortened it from Kangalaris. If he was in the North Melbourne cheer squad I might smile, he isn't. It just sounds tacky to me.

Training Ground?
I have always thought that if the Dees can pull off a training base at Caulfield that would be an amazing outcome. Relatively close to the city, near train and tram lines, located in a historic MFC metropolitan recruiting zone (so there actually is a local history and connection there) and consequently already has a strong local following in nearby suburbs. This will be as important as the 2021 flag in re-establishing the Demons as a real force in footy again. Should not overlook the marketing possibilities and connection with the other nearby neighbour, Monash University (Caulfield Campus). It is a chance to cultivate potential new supporters amongst international students.

Training Ground?
I was listening to SEN on my way to the beach yesterday afternoon. Mr. Kanga, newly minted MRC chairman was being interviewed. Was certainly not enthused with the idea of the Demons moving into the precinct but was guarded in his comments and I got the impression from his comments that both the Scopus acquisition and MFC had been in the pipeline for quite some time and were well advanced. I suspect some had suggested to him to tone down the rhetoric. BTW, the bay was quite nice, sea temps fairly warm for December 👌

Training Ground?
Pert & MFC most definitely would have known about the incoming Scopus deal.
