The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Yep, their priority pick is pick 2. They are getting a great ride here by the AFL

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Massive news! this changes things considerably.. we keep pick 2 and get one of the guns or our Pick 2 is more valuable than any other pick.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Sadly, Tomlinson's seriously out of form at the wrong time when more eyes have been on the Giants than ever before. Its a 2 way street, because he has also played great games for them in the past in finals as well. He wont be a popular pick up, but its up to the FD to maximise his strengths.

Goal Kicking Coach
I think Brad would be fantastic.

Goal Kicking Coach
This feels like a light bulb moment for them in charge.. lets be honest, this is a position that should be full time and coveted just as much as any position, after all, to win a game, you have to kick goals. Not sure who it is, but its really important. Also so is 2 Assistant coaches that we have not filled yet or heard anything about. Must be news about these positions sooner rather than later.

Jamie Elliott
Be interested to see if there is another iron in a fire re: small fwds. I think Lockhart shows something, not to different to Elliott in a way (obviously long long way to go) but i think we need a classic crumber.

Josh Jenkins
Yep and that's a fair point and a really valid reason to stay away but i dont think its all doom and gloom if he landed and we negotiated a lower pay scale which he said he is willing to take.
-
Josh Jenkins
I think JJ has upside, he reads the play very well for a Fwd and it would allow Tom Mc to do what he does best and get on his bike. I wonder if there were the same reservations about recruiting Garlett when we did. Just for a minute imagine if JJ snags 30 goals for us, Tom gets 45, and Melk gets 25. That's a good spread, plus 20+ for Bailey, and hopefully Weid.

Re-Signings 2019
?? - you do know that 5 players have already either retired or been delisted?
-
List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
I have changed my opinion a little bit, i dont think we can delist 10 players : my thoughts on the re-signings ANB: baffles me - must be turned into a run with player over summer Joel Smith - Encouraging he re-signed - thought he was gone Wagners - Josh at time has been handy and i like Corey's aggression. Baker / Lockhart / Dunk / Chandler - Time needed. no drams with re-signings.

Billy Stretch
True mate, not much excited us about the year!!

Billy Stretch
And the fact that they have both been average footballers at best that really never delivered.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Not arguing with any of what you have written here RN, its all pretty much spot on, but should we have performed better this year on field, we wouldn't be talking about having to stand up for ourselves. Respect is the true reward for Winning. We worked hard to get it in 2018, we threw it away in 2019.

Small forwards - what are our trading and draft options?
I agree, we need to prioritis ethis, but maybe they feel like Chandler, Spargo Bedford are worth persevering, time will tell, but i for teh life of me cant see why we wouldn't have inquired about Sam Gray. it also really baffles me that we have spent the last however many year splaying in the NT and we cant identify a indigenous talent to add to our list.

Billy Stretch
all that might be true, but ultimately he isnt good enough, and like you i think it will be interesting to see what a change does for him, Great kid, great trainer, great work ethic, average footballer. we need to refresh those types.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
I just dont think Wines is the player we need, not saying it would be a bad result if he ended up in the side as he is good player, but i dont think he as a captain leaves. Hunt & Salem are trading away 2 things we dont have, pace and skill, but i like the spit balling. Interesting times. I wonder if we might get involved wit the Eagles if we split the pick. Could our pick 18/19 go to the Eagles for a player back, which gets the Eagles another first rounder for the Kelly trade.... probably not!!

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
The MFC needs to make a stand on the field.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Braysahw isn't moving. has a relationship in Melbourne which more than ever is very important that he doesn't leave..
-
List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Getting rid of Salem who is one of our very rare good ball users (all though that dropped off like the rest of the team as the year went on) is counter productive and pretty silly suggestion.
-
Billy Stretch
Billy has all the traits of a perfect clubman but sadly none of the traits that are going to make him a great footballer.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Splitting the pick will take us out of the top 10, i dont think that's good enough, to give up pick 3 position, we would need to get back inside the top 10, possibly top 8, but cant see that happening now. Take pick 3, get Young a beautiful left footer who moves well, take Langdon, take Tomlinson, go hard for Elliott. its a good hand.

The calumny of the AFL's priority pick policy
Same as when we got priority picks.. the next teams lose out. Its a stinker of a concept and im dirty at it as well but its the AFL rule son the run and not a lot we can do about it. SUNS need the help, they are a long way off any success and money has been invested in that side, they need all the help they can get.
