Unless its promotion from within and if that is the case this needs to be communicated, i feel its pretty worrying that we lose 3 senior positions and we only replace 1 of them.

I guess the big question for me now that' it been publicly stated that small forwards are an area of interest is who is plan B on the get a small forward list? would knock down the door of Sam Gray. I feel like we will miss out on Elliott.

The ting i found very intersting when Garry asked about Assistant and development coaches, JM said there will be no more coaches.. Just Richo and the Casey coach being a development coach... surely that cannot be correct.

You only had to listen to Clarry thanks macca in his B&F speech to realise how good he has been for the club. Great person who will be missed.

Pertinent questions that should be asked of all possible targets, hope they are asking them. IMO He would improve list (marginally) He does meet a need (Marginally - pace & fwd nous) there are probably a few better and he would not cost a lot.

I get the feeling we are going to split the pick, i dont want to and im in the camp of Hayden Young, a good ball user of half back with natural pace and skill. Lachie Whitfield mould and would suit us perfectly. Listening to the Cal Twomey from AFL.com.au this morning said its fairly even draft through to pick 30ish? he is confident of getting good players in that range and is why Dees, Saints and crows are all exploring the split pick sceanrio. ** Interestingly he also said next years crop is not rated that highly so doubts whether clubs would take a future second rounder in this trade period.

Fair enough AF, i hope he can grow into a player thats hard to match up and gives us an extra point of difference up forward. Time will tell.

He has only played 11 games.. but feel free to make that snap judgemnet. .. Frost has player over 90, i think Smith will improve and playing up forward will be a big asset

Problem is, he is worth more than 47 but not worth pick 27.. he is an early 30s pick.

We should look at all options, Eagles are the ones that are desperate for early pick to secure Tim Kelly. We hold the whip hand on all of this, pressure is on the FD to make hay while the sun shines.

in the end Joel Smith might be our biggest recruit for the year if he can get on the park. quick, agile, nice mark and kick.

Lets all be totally honest with ourselves here. Sam Frost is an at best Average Footballer, which in itself is ok, but he is not the messiah. He is a great athlete with great endeavor, but May and Lever and Hore are better footballers. Sam benefited from a year where we were a mess down back, but his pace and willingness to try was thrust into our awareness because such was the lack of class and chemistry down back. Its a shame you cant take Sam great qualities (pace, and endeavor) and combine them with Oscars good qualities (ball use and decision making) we would have a really good footballer. If we can get a pick in the 30s for Frost, take it, turn it into something and move on. Sam Frost is not our future.

So as i see it the main positions are 2 senior assistants (Rawlings & Jennings). You are saying these have been filled? strange it has not been released, even at the B&F last night. By god i hope they are reputable, innovative, strong, progressive coaches.

He is a big needs basis player, imagine we lose him for not giving our second rounder.

Would not be against getting him for a couple years.

Ive been critical of him, but only of late, he helped me have some pride in a team that was, lets be honest, embarrassing to support. His fight, his grit and his pride was a beacon and he will hold a special place in teh teams history. Hope he does a Travis Boak and finds a new lease on life without the burden of captaincy.

Just my weekly rant re: Assistant Coaches. And i know it will happen, I'm just even more intrigued that fact there is no talk about this at all. 2 main coaching positions still vacant, no one is talking about it, not the fans , not the media, not the club. Oh well, maybe next week when i post on this thread we might have news.

It will aslo maybe puta rocket up a couple players, get better or you wont get agame, ANB, Hannan these types, pressure will be on.

Take pick 3. I just dont think we will get the good end of the stick. Giants will not off load good talent to us, they will only sacrifice fringe players to go with basically 2 late first round picks. We will get laughed at now if we swap pick 3 unless sits for a bonafide star.

If we trade away pick 4 for a 13 & 19 then i give up. Lets just take pick 3 and be clever about other possible moves.
