Yep that is my thought process as well, he tries really hard but the skill fundamentals of the game are not his strong suit, but he can run, he can tackle and he is competitive.

ANBs only weapon is his running, he really offers not much more, and he needs to work on so many aspects of his game. With his tank i think they should look at making him into a run with player.

Just take teh 3 picks my god, we need really the best talent we can get, i still think taking Jackson at 3 is a mistake, but use 10, to get the next best available of who hasn't already been drafted and pick 28 is chance to take more of a speculative pick. Lets not mess around anymore, Bennell is the risk we are taking, bank the talent and get on with it.

Blues 4th rounder has to be involved in a further upgrade to a team who needs the points. Otherwise why do it.?

3, 10, & 28 now plus a 4th rounder. Lets hope we get the player we wanted at 10 that we would have got at 8 and then go for Pickett at 28.

yep they will take Green and Young. Young is a natural replacement for Shaw, he is also a natural replacement for Hibbo as well but it looks like teh FD dont see that!

If we split pick 8 and one of those become a pick in teh 20's then its a bad move. We hole all teh aces, pick 8 should become Geelong's 14 & 17 at the very least. we dont give up a first round selection next year not to give it up easily again. It appear Jackson is going at P3 which i dont agree on, not saying he wont be a good player, but its a draft that we surely pick players for needs basis, like Young a skilled HBF that will release players. Time will tell.

With Port now having picks 12, 16 & 18 i wonder if they will try to get inside teh top 10, i think they will. Our Pick 8 is becoming very valuable. Could pick 8 become 12 & 16.. better that 14 & 17, albeit just.

Yeah it can probably be broken down in 2 ways.. the negative of where are the young blokes or the positive of a proud ex captain who will lead with or without a title. I have been critical of Jones leadership in the past, but you can only comment whats in front of you and its a great effort.

What a strong athlete Jones is, physically and mentally. that is a great effort and sign that he is up and about, great work by young Bedford as well.

This. Are we drafting for the future or are we drafting for now. Young plays R1 and impacts with great skills. Jackson might play R1 but history will say big blokes take a while. Draft the kid who can kick, after all its is called football.

If we take a bloke who is going to take years to develop over a an absolute need that we have who is also rated as teh third best player in teh draft by some in Young then we will make a mess of this.

This is really good news and like others have said, this is where professionalism is important, get the right people to assess and make the decisions. You have to review, ask questions find out for yourself, adapt, it feels like we are doing that. Bennell is no doubt about it a high risk high reward proposition but when there are 44 spots on the list, 1 being taken up by a player with immense upside is worth it.

Imagine being good at something you love and then it gets taken away from you because of concussion. Really heartbreaking for him. I hope the heroes that have had a crack at him take breath and go away. I for one hope he just finds a place where he is happy and can function, footy should be secondary to quality of a life.

This is the thing, Young plays R1 and is almost our best by foot, his impact is immediate, it has flow on affect, it releases Salem which adds another class player to the mid, takes pressure of Hibbo and Nev, they can just lock down a bit more. Lever intercepting and giving off to a guy that can pin point a 40m kick on his left out of the danger zone. Thats gold right there.

Id argue that Young is almost the perfect pick, he is a top 5 talent and he is what we need.

We do need another big forward, but this guy is going to take 3 years minimum to make a real big impact. I will be FILTHY if we ignore what we need so desperately, skill, poise and pace off half back. its right there for us, we desperately need skill in the side. if we pas sup Young then i will be seriously disillusioned with my club.

A player that would have made our bottom 6 better. i hope they have plan to add another hardened player on the list.

I'm team Jack. I love his attitude, i love his desire, i love his aggressive nature. I think it takes a while to be a good captain, and i think he can be that, he has plenty of footy left in him and i think he will thrive now that there is no Nathan Jones, it's his capatincy now, Max might join, but its his. Go back and watch his finals in 2018, coming off hardly any gametime or prep, he was huge.

To be pragmatic about this, of course the club should be wary of injuries and baggage that comes with him, the upside is of course pretty big, imagine if he plays 15-20 games, the impact would be significant, But we are not that club. I want him, but the club will go with others.
