We better not have a concussion given afl rigged Thurs night preference for Dees Pies. Would be one day short and pies get 3 more days than us.

How much would Port have to win by to take 2nd off Brisbane?

I reckon Schache suffers a bit from confirmation bias from supporters. I’ve seen him play very decent games at Casey, kick multiple goals in games, be an effective second ruck and show courage backing into packs. He just seems to lack intensity so is unlikely to be selected because the team demands that attribute. It’s a shame because he could be our forward line temporary solution if it can all come together for him. I would not be devastated for him to get a game.

Hopefully not season deciding!

My fear and looking more probable is playing a great season, finishing third and playing first final against Lions in Brisbane.

I can understand Umpires missing frees and making mistakes, it is the nature of the game. I cannot understand umpires looking directly at blatant frees right in front of them and not paying them. They know the rules. We were shafted last night.

Well I certainly hope this week the media give the pies the fawning attention they rightly deserve as the greatest team ever

I personally have for some time thought AFL House would be much better located in Moolap. Fairer for all.

I get this feeling that MFC is a very professional organisation. We are just quietly going about our business whilst the media keeps looking for the next shiny thing.

Goody did say Grundy won’t play this week so not sure why he is named - emergency I guess. I favour him being on the bench to share ruck duties against their two rucks.

I also reckon Grundy could be on bench to help Max in coming weeks as opposed to being forward.

Have also been an advocate of this going into the future. Unfortunately BBB seems to have succumbed to injury and TMac is not the future. A forward line using Petty, Kossie, Chandler, Melksham, Fritta, JvR looks potent. Trac rolling through makes it more scary. Woey will get his chances going forward and Melky is coming to the end of his career. We need to make sure we have the third tall in defence still whether that be Tommo, Turner, even TMac in short term. Long thought Smith is the ultimate sub. Looking positive methinks.

Makes me sad but don’t see BBB viable going forward. Therefore either Grundy or Schache in. Smith too short for the role and is the perfect sub. Forward talk for Grundy may just mean Max ruck and his traditional intercept marking in backline while Grundy ruck and Forward. Get the negative talk around Schache not going hard but I’ve seen him backing into packs at Casey so don’t agree he is soft and he has been kicking goals.

Love Brown, great Dee premiership player who used to be at some other club but seems to me he struggles to see games out given his physical problems. Don’t think Smith is a replacement, just not tall enough for the key position and he is after all the Super Sub. Really don’t know who else though, Grundy not a forward, Schache despite going well in the twos just not in favour, TMac injured and it’s maybe past time for him, Petty forward seems a thing of the past despite Goody being hot on it mid season. Personally I would like Tommo to stay in and Petty up forward but realise that ship has sailed.

Thought it was a great effort by the Dees. My only concern is BBB. He has started the last few games well but drops off, presumably due to his body not being up to a whole game. This is not sustainable yet we need the tall. Any suggestions?

Really 4th or 2nd is our ideal finish I think.

So from what I have gleaned from AFL media this week Brisbane played brilliantly and have shown there is no MCG hoodoo and some other team got lucky to unfairly beat them. Oh… and Brodie Grundy.

Nothing burger except to give some media the opportunity to not talk about our great win. The club public messaging baffles me though. “Grundy rested, sore” - no story.
