The Aidan Schubert Thread
Don’t think he fits into the narrative “we aim to be playing final in the short term” He would be a longer term prospect who could be very good or not.

Bailey Humphrey
Of course the counterpoint to my own argument is - if Bailey is off the table and only picks are involved why hasn’t the deal been closed already. (maybe waiting on Clarry pick to give back?)

Well I thought if there is anything to this Humphrey story he would nominate the Dees or at least request a trade today, no reason not to, but … crickets. Think the WOW deal may be lacking WOW.

Bailey Humphrey
Getting 7 and 8 and giving Petracca and picks back does seem to lack the “WOW” factor that was spoken of. Essentially we lose Petracca and Judd for 7 and 8 in a weak draft …. WOW!

Bailey Humphrey
Not one media outlet or trade pod mentioning Bailey in relation to the Trac trade so really not holding my breath but some BBQ diversion therapy is good I guess.

Ignore him, we come on here hoping for any little bit of information that’s the whole point. Thanks for your posts

Love the Eeyore reference, sums it up perfectly- gotta get me some of that Tigger bounce going!

He will probably go to Hawks for some picks and Suns will offer those picks to us for Petracca. It is possible I am looking through a half empty glass.

Trade Targets
Maybe pick 7 and that Bedford guy, he seems to go ok.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Oliver clears from the centre, Bedford runs onto it and delivers to Hogan in the square and goals! Go Dees ……oh

Farewell Clayton Oliver
My somewhat optimistic view of Clarry’s future would appear a tad unrealistic now. Sees his time out with the Dees, content with his at least 2 premierships and being one of the best ever in red and blue. Reunites with Soph (or other country lass), retires to his newly purchased farm, has the kids he loves being around and hosts the ex players once a year where he, Petts and Chin battle it out in the haybale throwing comp. Have a good life Clarry, no matter what transpires from here, you brought hope to us supporters starting from your debut game on. Yeh, yeh, I know, sunshine, rainbows and unicorns!

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Believe his off field standards are very good as well. Who’d have thought … Collingwood!

In a dark mood soooo. My predictions: Flanders to Saints - Done Humphrey stays at Suns Deal for Trac falls through or we backdown and accept a couple of picks and no decent player Disgruntled, disinterested Trac at Dees 2026 Clarry resets at GWS, has a great year and plays finals while we pay half his wage and we watch whatever draft kid we get with his pick in the 20s. Happy Days.

I fear this will all end up being a further disruptive exercise in futility. With Flanders nominating Saints I find it really hard to believe Humphrey or any other decent player is going to nominate us so deal off and hi Trac for preseason 2026. Out of all the angst and posturing all that may happen is we watch Clarry dominate at GWS while we decide what to do with whatever crappy pick we get. Hope I’m wrong.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
We have said no trade unless we get wowed by an offer. Morris says pick 6. Not much wow there.

Bit sad today. So our generational talent are no more. Where are the future stars coming from, especially with no draft capital, no incoming trades and Tas draft in two years.

Some posters need to turn up their sarcasm alert meter - reference Binman’s message.

Farewell Judd McVee
It is posters like Dannyz and Ghosty I come on here to read. Being in another state their insight and personal stories allow me to feel more a part of the supporter base and closer to the goings on so please keep on a posting. Snipers will snipe, haters will hate and a desire to “I told you so” is just bloody annoying. As for Juddy I reckon he is a significant loss but not disastrous. He also had a chance to be a part of our baby demons coming through but has chosen not to be. Just hope we get decent compensation.

Yep, according to our new coach, confirmed in press conference.

Goody to be Tasmania’s inaugural coach - now that would amuse me. Take us forward Kingy.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
What is the exact genesis of all this trade talk. I know there were issues off field with Clayton in the past but is this still evident? He seems pretty invested to me, he can’t be the only player in the afl who deals with issues that are common in the general population. Trac has stated, paraphrasing, he is all in for the Dees. Both have long term contracts with us which as the cap goes up won’t seem so over the top money wise. Why the speculation, they are both good, probably great players. From within it can’t be to improve the list because what we would get would not be enough to obtain top liners.

POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
Oh well, back to waiting on training sessions for next year. See how our new recruits are going. I do so hate the pies, hate them I say, always have. Hope Clarry keeps going forward over the off season, hope the injection of the “all new people” can freshen us up. Pretty sure the high performance team needs a flush out. See no future for May or bless maybe forward, a bit too much yelling and pointing not backed up by performance like it used to be. Random thoughts

Does anyone else think Kossie doesn’t seem quite right at the moment.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
Against the trend here but I want Clarry and Trac to stay. We have committed the money which as caps increase will not seem as huge. In Clarry I see a player who only has one thing he does and footy is his life. Say what you want but he always busts his guts with endeavour and despite not achieving previous heights still had a serviceable year. I don’t see any likely replacements. He may have issues but I like his somewhat innocent, enthusiastic nature. As for Trac I think his recovery from that injury will naturally take more time, I anticipate him being even better next year after having a very serviceable 2025. Again, who will come in that is better. I would rather see a turnover of the likes of May, TMac and Melky as the start of a new generation. Melky, a possible one more year proposition to lead the young forward line. Just my thoughts and probably based on emotion but a positive gelling within the club is an emotion driven thing anyway. I always look back on the lack of respect shown to Junior - getting rid of him didn’t improve our club.
