The Grundy in gave some excitement last year and if it worked then all good. It didn’t and we move on, however we are left in a precarious situation Re ruck for next year given Max’s age. I do however wish our messaging was better sometimes so as to not feed the AFL “media”. Examples - something like “Brodie is now playing for a club that values him” and “Gone back to learn forward craft.” We just end up looking amateurish and silly. I also can just not fathom signing Schache for another year and then doing everything possible to let him know we don’t value him at all. These things would not contribute to us being seen as a desirable destination when players are looking around.

Why did we sign Schache to another year given even in these dire tall forward times he does not seem to be considered for selection?

Been great for us Hibberd, always gives his all. I wonder if he can be given licence to channel his inner Frankston and get involved in some “footy acts” as the media loves to call them. …….. tongue in cheek!

I was thinking the same thing and wondering why we extended his contract a while ago for another year.

Yet again - All year the AFL have said if you choose a certain course of action such as leaving the ground and the head of an opponent is hit then you wear the consequences because you chose the course of action. It’s that simple, everything else is distraction. End of story.

Yes I know the narrative about Schache but we signed him for another year and TMac, really, are we confident he will win a one on one battle. At least Schache is a tall forward so could be novel to have one of those in our forward line given JvR is out.

The ex players, media and AFL are playing with fire here given Brayshaw’ concussion history, the high profile of the Brayshaw family and Gus’ direct connection to the Frawley family and the Danny Frawley Centre. Lip service only and total hypocrisy if it involves a star player or favoured team.

Very, very disappointed and stuffs the whole weekend … but it is nice to support a club that is playing finals with realistic chances of winning after decades of specialising in draft expectations. How good if we do go through and beat them in the GF - the ultimate! Does anyone seriously believe if it was May taking out a Daicos instead of Maynard on Brayshaw the media narrative would be the same? Pie also supporters living up to their scum reputation. Our forwards just do not win one on ones and our game plan allows for a totally clogged forward line. With JvR getting suspended TMac will have to stay in which sadly is less than inspiring but who else - we are down to Grundy or Schache. We have manufactured scores during the year but suddenly it seems much harder. Yuk day!
