  1. The media should STFU. Clarrie has demons but he’s one of our demons. The effort he has put in to show support to others and positivity this season should be applauded.

Very inspirational from Kathleen and good to see Clarrie giving of his own feelings in his own way. I’m in awe of the strength you all show and good on the club for the leadership role they take in supporting important causes.
  3. As much as I want Petty to succeed and be part of our forward line solution at the moment I think he is ranked near last on AFL player ratings so there’s not much to lose by playing Fullerton to have a look.
  4. I’m just wondering if we might put players in their natural positions as a crazy idea. Lingers on the wing instead of half forward. Petty and Disco in the backline instead of reinventing as forwards Sparrow in the middle instead of a wing. Put some of the players brought to the club as tall forwards / ruck chop out actually in that position - they could not be less effective than what is there now, Roo excepted.
  5. Sick of the media with their biased, toe the line reporting. Sick of all the talk. Sick of the innuendo. Sick of the compromised AFL organisation. Gutted for Trac. He is heart and soul. Hope he makes a full recovery. Really don’t see a lot of positives going forward this year but hope as always I’m wrong. Decades of hating Collingwood lives on but unfortunately can’t help having some begrudging admiration for how Moore conducts himself. Unlike the media darling Maynard scum don’t believe Moore went out to injure a player. Am way too invested in the fortunes of the MFC.
  6. Well this is sad
  7. My points are tongue in cheek - it is not possible that all these things are true
  8. I can’t find the thread for tonight’s podcast so putting it here. Please discuss the ridiculousness - So I think I understand it now after all the diagnosis here and elsewhere. Damned if I know how we’ve stayed top 4 most of the last few years given apparently: 1. The game plan has been stuffed up through attempts to change it. 2. The game plan needs to change to keep up with other teams. 3. Our recruiters are hopeless. 4. Our high performance staff are hopeless. The players lack condition and endurance. 5. Our players don’t care nor try. 6. The culture at the club is [censored] and there are mystery off field issues causing disconnects on game day. 7. Our players have sub standard skill levels. 8. We only have a backline and mids with a non existent forward line. 9. We suffer from chasing the dollar by selling games. 10. Our coach is a dud, plays favourites and has no imagination nor the much vaunted Plan B 11. We fail to keep good players or attract good players. 12. Our management team are useless and should have given us a home base by now, therefore we play like [censored]. 13. We have no depth. 14. The rest … I’m sure I missed some. I hated Sunday night but this era is the best I’ve experienced in many, many decades of Dee supporting so I take all the above with a large grain of salt. Go Dees
  9. Would have been a long trip home in that cattle truck, maybe next year they should fly up instead.
  10. My anger towards Maynard is enormous and the only time I have really wanted to see a player get hurt. However this anger pales into insignificance against the anger felt towards the AFL, McGuire and the toady media for their sycophantic coverage and predetermined, manufactured outcome. I truly hope the Frawley family and others pursue law suits against the AFL and the Gus incident is highlighted as an example of dereliction of a duty of care with individuals named.
  11. Realistically there are only two important points out of this: 1. Why only SOME coaches were aware (cue Scott bros.) 2. Why not release recordings to coaches if requested?
  12. I noticed the same thing and headband boy also has that rare ability to go tall or short depending on the circumstances.
  13. I 100% agree but the combined team would be the called the Melbourne Demons, the jumper would have a light blue dot under one armpit and we use Norths Homebase if they have one.
  14. On field leadership discussion. We are blessed having May and Lever to organise the backs. I assume Viney, Trac and Max provide leadership for the mids. However we don’t have a ready made leader to organise the forwards which I think is significant so there is a tendency for them to act more as individuals than a cohesive forward team. Your thoughts? Solutions? I see Melksham possibly taking that role but that’s probably not a long term solution.
  15. I reckon our forward line just needs a strong leader to guide and organise during play much like we have in the backline. I wouldn’t be surprised if the other backs refer to them as Mr. Lever and Mr. May.
  16. I read the game day thread before I was able to watch the match. Correlation factor about equal to our percentage gain. Good win and great to see older stars like Lever and May play well and possible emerging new talent on display.
  17. Worry not. The AFL will find wriggle room for any Blues, Pies or late season potential Brownlow recipients.
  18. Um

Hmmmmmmmm! What a silly boy. Made me realise what a cheap slacker I’ve been having listened to the pod since Grapeviney days so just took out a D’Land subscription. Thanks for prompting me Dee Blood
  19. Probably, i was just wallowing in self pity and playing the Dees victim card.
  20. Hi impact, careless, they must have made it moderate as opposed to low contact. Could be argued either way. Great to see the first player suspended under the Maynard Protocol is a Dee. Thanks AFL.
  21. I think Axis was laying out a bit of sardonic humour, not being literal.
  22. A great couple of wins. Another happy start to a weekend. Professional approach by this group has a good feel to it. umpiring … seriously! Kozzie will 100% get one week minimum, we are not Collingwood.
  23. Interesting proposal to replace Hore who has sore ribs with May who has broken ribs Edit - Just saw thumb report
  24. Thinking the club might be grooming Hore as our regular sub unless injuries call for him to play. Offers a fair bit of flexibility.
