  1. What about the young up and coming Australian Larry O’Dea
  2. My fathers business in Queensbridge street South Melbourne serviced the Mobil cars so I guess Hassa was a rep. I, as a young whipper snapper spent holidays doing the menial tasks. Funny these days to think of players having actual other jobs whilst still being idolised by a young supporter.
  3. Hassa, when he worked for I think Mobil was often at my father’s business and got me all the team autographs which is a treasured keepsake. I was also taught by Mrs. Mann in primary school. A true demon hero.
  4. I for one am much pleased to see Clarrie looking connected with his friends at both recent weddings. Good on you Gus, sure the future is bright, Danielle and family good people.
  5. Yeh, yeh, but, but … what have you done recently! Seriously that is an amazing amount of public service Redleg, commendations to you. Incidentally it matches up quite nicely against my own. I went to a match once.
  6. Just dropped a few dollars on us for Premiers. Optimism springs anew.
  7. First rate this and combined with the Norm McDonald bored / board reference has my day off to a positive start.
  8. Probably comes in with relationships and respect already established with many of the players. May be just as much about building cohesiveness and positivity as some radical new going to fix all the world’s problems midfield system.
  9. What a nice, typical Clarrie articulated positive story. Pity about the people on here who just want to argue and litigate their petty point making over and over ad nauseam.
  10. Clarrie, Trac, Kossie are MFC players. Media sucks.
  11. I don’t see Pert offering more goal assists than Clarrie next year, more like own goals.
  12. So over all this garbage. Koz, Clarrie and Trac are in the privileged position of being able to play the game they love for a lot of money. They all signed contracts. They can just harden the f up, honour their contracts and play their guts out for the team and their team mates. They don’t own the game, they are just a part of it.
  13. I’ve heard the entire playing list at Melbourne are showing interest in a variety of offers from rival clubs. The club has said it would be an innovative way to rebuild.
  14. If Trac wants some inspiration on coming back from serious injury he could do worse than wandering over to AAMI and have a chat to Ryan Papenhuyzen. Leg fractures, hammy and fractured kneecap which was a year out. Starred for Storm in their prelim.
  15. Must go to pies. Would love to be an observer (from a distance) when he, DeGoey and Maynard hit Bali.
  16. Looking forward to finding out if I can get 4 tyres for the price of 3.
  17. Worry not, make stuff up
  18. I reckon some budding Psychology or Social phd should do a thesis on the negative impact on players mental well being caused by a rapacious AFL media ecosystem.
  19. Since their early years with us I thought Gus, Clarrie and Trac would be the heart and soul of the club going forward. (Apologies Max and Vin) Appears I was at least partially wrong. Now can’t help but feel if we can get realistic trade value that may be the best way forward re Trac. Can’t see it happening though.
  20. For those calling for wholesale changes and sackings - it often doesn’t make for a quick fix. Also only works if the new people are better - hard to know and limited by suitably qualified, experienced and available personnel. There is a difference between rage induced scapegoating and sensible, well planned governance.
  21. I must also admit to being a bit concerned about his mental well being. Lot of pressure and every move scrutinised.
  22. Oh come on! “The club did this, the club didn’t do this, likewise the players … that’s why I want to trade out” … “But only to Carlton or Collingwood.” We are not fools!
  23. Really it all comes down to one of these options because a trade was never going to realistically happen and Trac knew it from his management (not social management) and went ahead anyway. 1. He wanted to force change at the club that he deems necessary for future success. Or 2. He decided to maliciously cause trouble for the club as some type of revenge for perceived wrongs. Or 3. He is unbelievably naive. Or 4. He is not in a fit state to make decisions.
  24. The only sense I can make of it is that he is listening to bad advice. Time for Nonna to have a stern conversation with young Christian about life priorities.
