  1. I find this brand stuff hard to stomach or believe. If so however, there there would be no brand without MFC. No one would be watching ordinary citizen Trac cooking his Nonna’s recipes. So much of this makes no sense. Trac must have realised that neither Carlton nor Pies have sufficient trade capital to make it happen so why bother bringing the subject up. What purpose is served other than to either try to force change or cause malicious disruption. Realistically none of the players being brought up for possible trades are likely to want it nor will their clubs cause their own internal disruption by forcing such trades. Again it makes no sense.
  2. Not sure clubs will be bashing down the door with offers given the information coming out if accurate.
  3. Prefaced by “I know nothing” Bit gutted by all this as I have always thought Trac to be a selfless, loyal, really nice person. Isn’t his fiancé a social media type person - wonder if in his traumatised state and realising the fragile nature of footy, injuries and recovery both mentally and physically he is being advised to look at maximising his online marketing through a large supporter base while he is able. Future post footy. I had imagined him to be the great support person during Clarrie’s troubles / recovery. Guess I have been wrong on a lot of fronts. Hard to see a hugely positive outcome for any stakeholders from the drama.
  4. Sad to be losing two very fine human beings in BBB and ANB. Both exemplify that footy clubs are about more than footy.
  5. I really thought Trac would be heart and soul Demons so pretty unhappy at what is playing out. If it is stuff like social media exposure would be even more disgusted. It appears to me the club looks after players welfare pretty well and are considerate of extenuating circumstances- see Langdon, ANB, Clarrie and Kossie. My worry is whether Trac will ever recover his brilliance after such a devastating injury and associated mental demons.
  6. Any weekend where we win while Pies and Dons lose is perfection so Happy Sunday everyone. Clever selections and in game coaching moves to take advantage of the conditions and unfolding play. We may see slight tweaks for a probably dry Freo game. Consider how good our guys were given a large number of the Don goals were a direct result of dodgy umpiring. The Mouse Pack are generating their own enthusiasm and culture. Probably 3 of the next 6 to make the eight, a couple more to make top four. Sitting watching on the Sunshine Coast thinking “gee it’s cold tonight.” Then watching the players, supporters and DA in real cold and rain makes me ponder if I may have become a tad soft. Go you Dees!
  7. Heeney needs to go to the “Tom Hawkins School of Accidental Contact.”
  8. Probably posted elsewhere but warm your heart:
  9. BBB in as ruck. Has the height and tank, ahh forgot the knees. TMac as ruck, done it before, ahh forgot the foot. Tommo as ruck. Has the tank but not the height. Maybe the new Pedo. Ferral as ruck. Big ask of a kid. Fullerton as ruck. Guess so.
  10. But who comes out for AMW in? Riv was in the midfield last week. Could be Bowie I guess.
  11. AMW in to me implies doubt over Salem getting up.
  12. The media should STFU. Clarrie has demons but he’s one of our demons. The effort he has put in to show support to others and positivity this season should be applauded.
  13. DeeMee replied to jane02's topic in Melbourne Demons
Very inspirational from Kathleen and good to see Clarrie giving of his own feelings in his own way. I’m in awe of the strength you all show and good on the club for the leadership role they take in supporting important causes.
  14. As much as I want Petty to succeed and be part of our forward line solution at the moment I think he is ranked near last on AFL player ratings so there’s not much to lose by playing Fullerton to have a look.
  15. I’m just wondering if we might put players in their natural positions as a crazy idea. Lingers on the wing instead of half forward. Petty and Disco in the backline instead of reinventing as forwards Sparrow in the middle instead of a wing. Put some of the players brought to the club as tall forwards / ruck chop out actually in that position - they could not be less effective than what is there now, Roo excepted.
  16. Sick of the media with their biased, toe the line reporting. Sick of all the talk. Sick of the innuendo. Sick of the compromised AFL organisation. Gutted for Trac. He is heart and soul. Hope he makes a full recovery. Really don’t see a lot of positives going forward this year but hope as always I’m wrong. Decades of hating Collingwood lives on but unfortunately can’t help having some begrudging admiration for how Moore conducts himself. Unlike the media darling Maynard scum don’t believe Moore went out to injure a player. Am way too invested in the fortunes of the MFC.
  17. Well this is sad
  18. My points are tongue in cheek - it is not possible that all these things are true
  19. I can’t find the thread for tonight’s podcast so putting it here. Please discuss the ridiculousness - So I think I understand it now after all the diagnosis here and elsewhere. Damned if I know how we’ve stayed top 4 most of the last few years given apparently: 1. The game plan has been stuffed up through attempts to change it. 2. The game plan needs to change to keep up with other teams. 3. Our recruiters are hopeless. 4. Our high performance staff are hopeless. The players lack condition and endurance. 5. Our players don’t care nor try. 6. The culture at the club is [censored] and there are mystery off field issues causing disconnects on game day. 7. Our players have sub standard skill levels. 8. We only have a backline and mids with a non existent forward line. 9. We suffer from chasing the dollar by selling games. 10. Our coach is a dud, plays favourites and has no imagination nor the much vaunted Plan B 11. We fail to keep good players or attract good players. 12. Our management team are useless and should have given us a home base by now, therefore we play like [censored]. 13. We have no depth. 14. The rest … I’m sure I missed some. I hated Sunday night but this era is the best I’ve experienced in many, many decades of Dee supporting so I take all the above with a large grain of salt. Go Dees
  20. Would have been a long trip home in that cattle truck, maybe next year they should fly up instead.
  21. My anger towards Maynard is enormous and the only time I have really wanted to see a player get hurt. However this anger pales into insignificance against the anger felt towards the AFL, McGuire and the toady media for their sycophantic coverage and predetermined, manufactured outcome. I truly hope the Frawley family and others pursue law suits against the AFL and the Gus incident is highlighted as an example of dereliction of a duty of care with individuals named.
  22. Realistically there are only two important points out of this: 1. Why only SOME coaches were aware (cue Scott bros.) 2. Why not release recordings to coaches if requested?
  23. I noticed the same thing and headband boy also has that rare ability to go tall or short depending on the circumstances.
  24. I 100% agree but the combined team would be the called the Melbourne Demons, the jumper would have a light blue dot under one armpit and we use Norths Homebase if they have one.
  25. On field leadership discussion. We are blessed having May and Lever to organise the backs. I assume Viney, Trac and Max provide leadership for the mids. However we don’t have a ready made leader to organise the forwards which I think is significant so there is a tendency for them to act more as individuals than a cohesive forward team. Your thoughts? Solutions? I see Melksham possibly taking that role but that’s probably not a long term solution.
