AFL announces gather round dates and the hotels decide to [censored] over anyone who wants to come. $600 night for an Ibis what a joke. $500 for the Hilton which is normally $220 per night. Can't get a brand name hotel for under $450 a night unless you want to stay in Port Adelaide for the night. What is the point of the ACCC if hotels can rob 30,000 people who want to go across for the weekend.

Ye flights are well over 2K to the Alice and it just doesnt work with my job because id have to fly home on the Monday.
-
Yes me and I got hopeful, Alice Springs the only game i'm missing this year coz of the costs involved in getting there.
-
They will want it against Collingwood, like they requested for this year. Suspect it will be Essendon/Richmond so they are only outnumbered 3:1 at the G rather than 4:1 against the Pies
-
Standing room was sold out
-
They sold GA on ticketek and in theory said all GA tickets were sold but when they said everyone needs a ticket there would have been people who then reserved a seat.
-
Haven't said anything but reasons are: Collingwood reserved seating in the Ponsford had about 1,000 empty seats MCC level 4 was 70% full thanks to people double dipping by reserving seats but then walking up to level 1 3 Bays didn't go on sale and wasn't rectified (900 seats) Top of GA in the Olympic was not full Thats about 5K all up and is the difference between 88.5K which is what I would have expected and what it actually got.

Alright, tickets for Geelong: https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/25005E7892462759?did=awaymember Code is awaymember23
-
Ye that was me, I am waiting for them to send me the link and will post again when I get it
-
no, those tickets that were identified by ticketek went on sale two weeks ago and could only be accessed with a Melbourne member barcode (essentially to allow GA members who missed out to buy a reserved seat amongst our reserved seat members. In theory there will be no Collingwood in the tridents/Redlegs/demon seats plus areas unless a Melbourne member brings a Collingwood guest.
-
put your barcode in ticketek in general public and click melbourne allocation. Youll be able to get 4 single seats near each other
-
P1-P4 level 2A
-
Idk OCD probably. Those seats are now gone though :)
-
100 seats have just gone on sale in bay Q32 rows CC-FF, looks like another case of someone forgetting to put them on sale or Collingwood giving back member allocations in the ponsford

Thank you, greatly appreciated, I spend far too much time of my life obsessing over weird things. i agree that the atmosphere is far more pro Melbourne but I come from the AFL reserve where the atmosphere is full of hostile barracking and I am one of the few Melbourne supporters in there that that stick up for us. Unfortunately the MCC wouldn’t appreciated my shouting so I stick to the southern stand with all the ferals like me :)

I think the simplest solution to stop fights is to bad drinking in standing areas where it seems to get the most rowdy as well as having dry bays around the ground. Would also help if mcg staff policed people who are being abusive properly
-
42 is 50 year members bay and they are silent anyway and 46 is committee who are silent too. 37-40 is dining bays. So really only 43,44,45 and 47 who can drink. All they can have is mid strength in cups. i have sat in the mcc twice for Melbourne games and the atmosphere sucks one being Anzac eve last year. It’s dead and quiet and is the reason our crowd seems so quiet compared to other Melbourne sides. personally prefer the zoo of the afl reserve.
-
There are heaps of dry bays in the mcc?? N41, n48, m45 q42-q45 rows a-f are all alcohols free. standing room behind punt road is also going to be dry on Monday
-
I’ll be doing a perusal of the level 2a tridents and redlegs and see if any of us are missing teeth or shoes
-
Well my reserved seats are being given to Melbourne supporters (I assume so given his grandfather is a multiple Brownlow medal winner for the club). I am in the afl so more of us can go together. funnily enough all my friends go for Richmond and Carlton which I sometimes think is worse.
-
the problem is that Melbourne reserved seat holders give it to their Collingwood mates - they simply show the ticket and MCG staff don't give a rat's backside to do anything. This year i am hoping that because 95%+ of our reserved seat members are going to be attending and reserved seats that arent purchased that are currently being sold require a Melbourne GA member's barcode to be purchased will result in no Collingwood supporters in them.
-
Unused Corporate allocations, Corporate boxes arent full, dining rooms arent all full, reserved seat areas arent full, extra standing room for the grand final all contribute. The 95K on Anzac Day this year is about the biggest non-PF/GF crowd you will ever see.
-
I’ll be in the afl members too, 4 dees in P25, probably 110 of the 120 people in the bay will be black and white but ah well we going to be loud and obnoxious. Helps when you go with a couple of 6,4 blokes
-
This argument I don’t understand. The opposition supporters should have no bearing on whether you got to games. Upgrade your seat on Ticketek and you will be in one of the Melbourne only bays in m50-m54 or m13-m16 or p1-p15. There are currently 102 single seats available and there will be no Collingwood supporters near you. We need all the support we can get this week.

It’s an obsession I can’t help myself, I think I even broken the Ticketek app on my phone rip
