nah not even close to correct. AFL reserve we are always outnumbered, would have been about 40K of us, 35K of them and the rest neutrals. Mcc was a 90/10 split our way, level 2A of the AFL was about 60:40 to them and level 4 GA areas were completely red. Our reserved seat areas were also 95% full. At a minimum we had 10K in our reserved seat areas, 18K in the MCC, 10K in GA/level 4. already at 38K with that. Northern side of the ground was nearly entirely Melbourne. Very difficult to judge when sitting in the AFL reserve because it feels louder for them because that's where they are sitting. Even the Level 1 reserved seats for general public had at least 25% Melbourne support in them.

They opened up afl members level 4 back to general admission overflow which is why it was full.
-
Well done dees fans, awesome crowd and outnumbered them too.
-
Ye they sold out all of M53 with the blockbuster memberships. They put the bay on sale yesterday with hat hadnt been sold and it was about 10 single seats. M4 is a melbourne only bay for tonight but not very full atm.
-
Absolutely ;) But if you want to be in the first few rows of the punt road end i would suggest getting to the ground before 6:30. The final GA areas have been announced and there isnt a lot

Updated Expected GA areas for Anzac Eve - All Level 4, ticket sales been good the last few days, a lot more reserved seat areas on level 4 now. GSS: Q1-Q7, Q8-Q15 1/2 rows U-DD Ponsford: Q31-Q36 rows U-MM Olympic: Q49-Q55 rows AA-MM Afl Reserve: Q15 1/2-Q27 rows U-DD, Q28 rows K-DD MCC, usual level 1,2,3. Level 4 may be completely ticketed at this rate. General Admission sales for non-members have also been exhausted in the MCC and General Public.
-
In response to your other question, yes the reserved seat would remain empty. it is highly unlikely that we outnumber Richmond. If we can break even that will be a good effort. I am thinks 35k of us and them and around 5k neutrals.

Updated Expected GA areas for Anzac Eve - All Level 4 GSS: Q1-Q7, Q8-Q15 1/2 rows P-DD Ponsford: Q29-Q30 all rows. Q31-Q36 rows M-MM Olympic: Q49-Q55 rows U-MM (might end up rows AA-MM) Afl Reserve: Q15 1/2-Q25 rows U-DD, Q26-Q28 rows K-DD MCC, usual level 1,2,3. Level 4 may be completely ticketed at this rate. General Admission sales for non-members have also been exhausted in the MCC and General Public. Will most likely be on MCG website on Saturday. Based on these sales, crowd should be above 75K.

Based on Current sales it will be: GSS: Q1-Q7, Q8-Q15 1/2 rows P-DD Ponsford: Q29-Q36 (maybe M30-M31) Olympic: Q49-Q55 rows U-MM (might end up rows AA-MM) Afl Reserve: Q15 1/2-Q23 rows U-DD, Q24-Q28 rows K-DD MCC, usual level 1,2,3. Level 4 may be completely ticketed at this rate. Will most likely be on MCG website on Saturday.

Yes i have read that, I am asking which bay it is in. Suspect its M53 which has not gone on sale and has been empty at both our home games.
-
Has anyone purchased a blockbuster membership and willing to share where on level 1 they are located? Imagine its M53 or M4? Richmond selling the blockbuster membership and they have Q15-Q12 for their seats.

parked at the g for a game against the suns in 2013, we could have had the whole gate 3 parking lot to ourselves :) Dees got done by 60 points too.
-
I am not arguing for people to buy reserved seats though? I am saying the club needs to give a greater incentive for people who dont want/cant afford the $550 for a demon seat plus membership to be able to buy more affordable reserved seats for bigger games. 4 level 1 wing reserved seats are nearly $300 with the service fee for our home games.

Keep checking ticketek, expect on Thursday for a few tickets to go on sale :)
-
No it does not work like that. GA areas are parts of the ground where you will be able to walk up on the night and sit anywhere in those bays. However, for games like Anzac Eve and Kings Birthday all of level 1 will be pre-purchased reserved seating and parts of level 4 will be too. The MCG puts the GA areas up on its website 24 hours before the game. The Demon Army will likely have all of bay M3 reserved for the Demon army and Melbourne supporters so you may be able to sit there. If you want to make sure that you are close to them, reserve a seat in bay M2 which still has a little bit of availability. The GA areas for Anzac Eve will likely be all on level 4: Q49-Q55 rows AA-MM, Q1-Q7, Q8-Q15 rows K-MM, Q29-Q36 (Based on current ticket sales)

I'm more talking about people looking on ticketek at reserved seats for individual games rather than buying a reserved seat membership. I don't expect people to reserve seats for smaller games and I think its wrong to have any reserved seat areas when they expect less then 30K but that's for a different discussion. But for a game against richmond, it is $70 to reserve a level 1 wing seat (which is actually forward pocket M8-M11 or M54-M57) for this game whereas other clubs charge $60 for them. Same applies for all levels of seating. I

Couldn't agree more we have the same 25K that seem to go to games regardless of the membership size. I would suggest at least 15-25K of the members are on 3 or 6 game memberships. Surely these people would pick Anzac Eve and King's Birthday as the games to go to. Would be great to get 40K of us to both these games and get both games over 80K. Also note that the price of reserved seats at Melbourne home games at the MCG is more expensive than all other clubs by around 10%. Our fanbase doesn't like to reserve seats so at big games they all end up on level 4 and the noise isn't as loud when we score. Potentially if they lowered the prices by more for our GA members they would be more willing to reserve seats.
-
Anyone brave enough to think we might get to 70K this year? I think we will fall just short but it is still amazing that in 10 years our membership figure has doubled when we are not a massive club.
-
Without being too stereotypical about Melbourne fans, we do have a high concentration of supporters in Bayside and Glen Eira. Not to say we don't live anywhere else because we are everywhere like every other club. However, Sandringham/Brighton/Hampton/Elsternwick/Caulfield/Armadale/Malvern type areas tend to have a lot of us - as is seen by Sandringham line and Frankston line on gameday (Yes I live in Brighton and am very much the stereotype of a Melbourne fan). But I go to games with people who live in Ringwood, Diamond Creek, Mount Martha so it is very hard to say that most Demons fans live in X location.

Additional tickets for gather round are going on sale at 12:30 Melbourne time today
-
Our home game, will be in M3 Punt Road End. All of level 1 will likely be reserved seating for Anzac Eve
-
I am going across on the Friday with 4 4-day passes on level 2. I will be at the Richmond game, our game, port game and the sunday games. There will be a lot of people I think doing something similar. Our crowd will officially be 50k as it will be combined with Port and there will probably be over 30k in the ground I think. Do not forget that Essendon have a massive amount of interstate latent support.
-
Afl reserve was full of them. Happy to go 30k of us 10 of them and 2k neutrals.
-
Not being at the game gonna completely ruin your perspective of the crowd then. Would have been about 28k of us, 10 of them and the rest neutrals. F1 probably stopped it being 45.
-
Currently sold out but they are expecting to release more for unused corporate allocation, just keep checking in the lead up to the game.
