  1. Like the idea of having a game the night before, but, it’s a public holiday in all other states except WA and QLD. Reckon the game should rotate between Sydney and Adelaide imo. Essendon and Carlton get enough marquee games.
  2. The Melbourne Supporter allocation now has about 150 seats available in M53 for Kings Birthday. $38 to upgrade.
  3. Yes that is going to be the case. We only get cheaper tickets, not first dibs. But on Anzac eve I would say 30% of the reserved seat areas (excluding our member reserved seat areas) were dees fans which is more than usual. GA on level 4 that night was completely red as was the MCC. We also have an extra 3 bays of reserved seating on level 1 this year (m13, m53 and m4) which are all sold out for KB and that makes a big difference. i think the crowd will be 45k of them, 40k of us and 5k neutrals. Unfortunately 45k of them make a hell of a lot more noise than 40k of us. i know I’m usually pessimistic about our supporters turning up but we’ve always outnumbered them at our home Queens birthday games and Anzac eve was a really good sign. So for me we can max out at 40k of us for non finals or flag unfurlings and I think that will be the case for round 13. Unfortunately for AFL members like myself it is going to be an absolute zoo surrounded by their most incoherent supporters in the afl reserve.
  4. First point is that I have never seen so many reserved seats sold a month before a game for a Melbourne ever. They are at row AA level 4 in the Olympic stand for bays Q49-Q55 with Q56-57 sold out. they are selling up to row V in the southern stand for Q5-Q15 and up to row Q for Q1-4. afl and mcc go on sale next Tuesday with both expected to sell out given our mcc support and their afl members. as a guess I would say GA areas are going to be Q31-Q36 rows AA-MM and Q1-Q4 rows T-DD. probably 87-89k for me
  5. The funny thing with melbourne supporters is that 99% of us want games to be Saturday 2:10pm or Sunday 1:10pm and not prime time night games. (I don't care, id be at the game if it was at 3am) We are likely to have a Friday night against Brisbane, Saturday night against St Kilda and Carlton. Saturday arvo against Adelaide, Hawthorn and North and Sunday arvo against Richmond. Personally I think our game against Adelaide deserves Friday night, but the Pies are going to get it that week and I think the Richmond game may end up Friday night as well (Collingwood v Carlton often ends up as the Sudnay 3:20pm).
  6. Ye there is a Fixture thread that discusses it :)
  7. Regular Melbourne members (excluding AFL members, MCC members and 3 game members) can add a GFG to their membership. It costs $295 but would likely have already been sold out. This is separate to Legends, Tridents, Redlegs and Demon Seats Plus members who already have the GFG in their membership
  8. More likely that we were involved in a garbage game against a team that doesn't metter. You will hear plenty about Melbourne games when we play Port, Carlton, Collingwood, Geelong in the next 6 weeks if we start losing
  9. Are you talking about adding a grand final guarantee to your membership? No way to "pre-purchase" through a membership. The only way that is possible is buying one of the AFL hospitality packages for the grand final (starts at about $1.2K)
  10. You had to request it with your membership when we were sent the sign up emails, am sure you can still do it in the afl membership portal. If not call the membership department at 9am and you’ll get through easily
  11. It is so hard to get to 90K these days but reserved seat sales are about 3 weeks ahead of where Anzac Eve reserved seats were at. I think it will be 87.5K-90K
  12. There are no bays available at the moment for Melbourne members to upgrade to, M4 may be available closer to the game but is unlikely.
  13. There are going to be extremely limited general admission areas. Something like Q1-Q6 rows Q-DD and Q31-Q36 rows AA-MM. Would be safer reserving for this game
  14. Everything I said is based on the 7afl post about the fixture which is that: Carlton won't get more than 1 Friday night (which is the round 20 game), Melbourne/Collingwood/Adelaide/Brisbane to be major beneficiaries. So on your point, Carlton v Port wont be, Collingwood game won't be clearly, Sydney aren't going to get good fixturing at 3-5, so it will be us or the Cats.
  15. The way they do sales is staggered and bay by bay. Currently they have sold all of level 1, level 4 Q1-Q15 bays A-J, Q49-Q55 rows A-U and Q56-Q57 are sold. They havent sold the back of Level 4 yet. They will put on Q49-Q55 rows V-MM soon and there will be no GA access in the Olympic stand and potentially also the Southern stand. Ponsford is yet to go on sale but only availability will be level 4 rows M-Back. It looks like the crowd is going to be close to 90,000, I have never seen so many reserved seats sold for a Melbourne game a month before the game. If you wait until closer to the game some seats in M4 and M53 may go on sale to Melbourne GA members if not all of those were reserved as part of the Blockbuster memberships. You can message the Demon Army on Facebook and see if they will have any availability, all of M3 will be reserved for them.
  16. As explained above, Richmond will be a Sunday because the Bledisloe game is on the Saturday night at the MCG and Carlton Collingwood are rumoured to have been given the Friday night in round 20. Carlton will be a Saturday night because apparently, they have only been given 1 Friday night game after round 16. I think Brisbane and Adelaide might both end up as Friday night games given the whispers Channel 7 have been talking about. Otherwise, Crows game is a lock for Saturday 2:10.
  17. Lets hope these three men - Wayne Henwood, Stephen Jurica, Richard Loveridge - have some form of common sense as ex-footballers/lawyers. They are the appeals board members.
  18. Not really strange considering the AFL told us there would be Thursday night games from round 1-6 and during the Byes. They aren't going to change their fixture format because everybody wants them to, if they operated like that Van Rooyen would be free to play already. We will have to wait till next year for Thursday nights every week.
  19. Round 20 game against Richmond all but confirmed to be Sunday 3:20 with Carlton Collingwood getting the Friday night and Bledisloe on Saturday.
  20. They may say that, but Ill eat grass if Steven May is actually 100% fit. Looks like hes playing with a dildo up his backside
  21. He was dreadful last year when rushed back into the side. Needs a month at Casey (considering their bye this week) and can come back after the bye, not sure we want his first game back against the Pies (or cats for that matter) where it will be extremely fast paced. We are not in a position where we are forced to play him underdone.
  22. Why are we surprised by Christian being a [censored]? He hates us and always has, look at Hogan and Lewis getting three weeks in 2017 against Carlton when Carlton lied about Cripps' broken jaw. Hope this is the shortest tribunal case of all time.
  23. Richmond has to be Friday night or Sunday because of the Bledisloe game at the MCG on the Saturday night. Carlton Collingwood is the other MCG game and they love putting that one at Sunday 3:20. Hawthorn should be Saturday 2:10pm imo as our last home game which will bring the greatest crowd.
  24. You have to wait for the bays to become available. For Anzac eve M4 only came up a couple weeks before the game. otherwise click on general public and reserve level 4 from there. Level 1 and level 4 front is exhausted for Collingwood. There is going to be very little GA for this game.
