  1. The MCC was disappointingly empty I though in round 1. I said as low as 40 and high as 60 and we got 48. MCC reserved seating is a broken system imo, half the people who pre book go and sit in better walk-up areas and makes the reserve look threadbare.
  2. Oh no i do :) Viney is the one player in this team that I really do not like, I cant stand Nibbler's dispoasal but understand that he plays a role for the team. Viney: Takes on too many tacklers and always getting caught Awful kicking inside 50 Sidestepping at the most stupid times Gives away dumb free kicks Cannot be in the same team as Harmes and Brayshaw - too many of the same player - and Jack is unfortunately the least skilled of the three (and that says something considering how appalling Harmes was on friday) Think he tries to do too much because he feels like there's still a burden on him. On the other hand, I hope Rick is the next Captain of the side. Just my opinion but know there's quite a few who share it
  3. Is the point of this thread not saying that he will be captain for the next 6 weeks at least so who will be his vice? Would think it would be Lever.
  4. Jake Lever and he should replace Viney as VC anyway.
  5. I think it’s great. Our problem is that are 2017 jumper is the best special jumper ever made by any club. So it will never be as good as that one was.
  6. If you want to be at the football you will be there, very simple isn't it? Hate all the excuses. Rain, hail, lightening or darkness I am at the games in Melbourne and interstate, because I love the club and game and want to barrack. Just think we need a few more ferals that are willing to make the noise that the pies/blues/tigers fans make.
  7. Agree with you re Swans fans, suspect there will be about 12K of them. But we will most likely regress to our norm of 20-25K Dees supporters at the game. So I think 35K is the max but happy to be wrong. MCC reserved seats are also selling very slowly for Sunday, hoping for 10k walk ups.
  8. Yes they have a right to be confident, but their comments are arrogant rather than confident. Their melbourne based South Melbourne supporters in the AFL reserve are some of the most foul-mouthed angry ferals going around. Im not confident, but hope we give them a bloody tough match.
  9. That 51K was only because of the pink lady on the G before the game. There were less then 40K in the ground for the game I think it would be 40K but GP will bring it below 35K
  10. Think you may have missed my point. I just want to discuss our crowds with people rather than go on Bigfooty and watch people bash us all day :) I disagree, legit questions about ticketing tend to be impacted by expected crowds and what bays are put up as reserved seats and. Example will be Anzac Eve when people ask if there will be level 1 GA but the reality will be a crowd of 70K+ means that all of level 1 will be reserved and taken by Richmond supporters and our GA members will be on level 4. But I do get where you are coming from.
  11. I would argue that we only sold out our reserved seat areas last year because a whole bunch of people bought them just to get a grand final ticket. Those areas were empty every week. M15 and M16 are particularly sparce imo and I don't know what is going on with M53 this year but it doesn't go on sale for general public and isn't part of the M50-M52 reserved seat areas and was empty last week. Noted that M13, M14 were packed against the dogs so hopefully the turnout is better this year. I believe that people who just buy a reserved seat for a GFG are the worst because they don't go to games but then take a grand final ticket that someone who attends every game doesn't get.
  12. I said I hope it doesn't, if you don't like it you don't have to post here. But if we get 45K on Sunday I hope you make a comment on how good it was to see the MCG full of Dees fans. Or if there's 25K you might get where I'm coming from.
  13. To be determined but I have a bad feeling it will be the second one more so than the first. Think the Round 7 game against North will be a good indiication of how many of us are turning up to games. Anzac Eve we will be outnumbered anyways.
  14. Absolutely agree that Melbourne fans prefer day games to night games. F1 might take away over 5K from the attendance though.
  15. Considering Bigfooty has a thread to discuss crowds that ends up with 150+ pages every year, there are people that like thinking about that sort of thing. Its fascinating to see how many people choose to go to football week in, week out. Certainly cleaner than having a new chat each week for tickets for Sydney game, tickets for Anzac Eve, tickets for KB. It might seem pointless to you, but other people may like to discuss why only 30K turn up against the Swans, or why we might get 75K for Anzac Eve. Also believe we have a right to bemoan our reserved seat members not showing up to games, or all the excuses people come up with every game. if you like what Caro says about our club then that's fine, but when she always gets her facts wrong about us, I have no respect for her and think she should be called out..
  16. Starting this thread so we can discuss when our fanbase inevitably gets slammed for not having the same crowds as Collingwood or Richmond. (Yes Caro, Im looking at you, you old bat). Personally thought that 48K against the dogs was very good considering they just never show up at G. Wonder how many Dees fans will be at the F1 who would otherwise be at the footy on Sunday? I reckon we will be lucky to get over 35K now.
  17. They did say these are preliminary ratings which are expected to change. We all know the game will likely be bad and yet will still buy it because its a footy game and Trac is on the cover. The biggest problem imo is that the worst teams are still rated too highly. The lowest ranked team should be nowhere near 83. If we compare to FIFA, the lowest premier league teams are rated in the low 70s. All it means is that in your season mode teams like Hawthorn are going to have too many wins and make it feel even less realistic than its going to be anyway.
  18. There will be a couple of demons in bay 320, flying up 6am to work from Brisbane. Thank heavens for work from home, allowing me to go to all Friday Night interstate trips this year. Hoping to tick off 21/23 games if I'm lucky.
  19. The Alice game has become a Sunday 3:20 regular so that channel 7 broadcast the game and it is not as hot in the late afternoon.
  20. Winery Lunch in Red Hill, drive up the highway, train to the G, stand behind M19, drink lots of beer, hurtle abuse at Neal Bullen and the men in yellow no doubt, and be happy that footy is back.
  21. I read somewhere that they had changed it to 24 hours this year. The only decent thing the AFL membership has done is bring back physical membership cards, mobile ticketing isnt for everyone and the club should know we have an older fan base (like my old man) and he likes to hold his card and scan it in.
  22. The Watts goal in 2017 QB game was indeed the loudest I have ever heard our fan base in a Home and away game. However, your point is irrelevant to what I am saying. Where was the roar when Neal Bullen put us in front in the 4th quarter last year? All I am saying is that despite us having the 5th highest attendances last year, they were greatly inflated by opposition fans at the MCG against Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond. I go on ticketek and see that the areas they have put on sale as reserved seats M7-M12, M54-M57, M1-M2 are at best 50% sold. The MCC has only opened up 4 bays on level 4 and the AFL reserved is barely touched (I am an afl member and MCC member). We will be lucky to get over 45,000 imo, I hope we get way more, but I am not unrealistic and the Footscray fans don't like to cross the Westgate. The game against Geelong in 2018 was an EF not a semi.
  23. No mate, they have only put Q45-Q48 rows A-X on sale. Row X is not high up level 4, its a little over half-way up (goes up to row MM). Most of level 4 has not gone on sale so we are relying on most MCC members to be walking up on the night Level 1 reserved seating is sold out but over half of level 1 is for walk ups.
  24. There will be more tickets that go on sale closer to the game. There will be unallocated corporate allocations and these normally go on sale a few days before the games.
  25. Thought they are meant to become available 24 hours before the game
