It is ironic that a game in which off-side is so pivotal has to be decided in a penalty shoot out which specifically dispenses with off-side.

I think most posters critiquing the game in this thread are drawing a line between its deficiencies and unruly crowd behaviour.
  3. How about 31yo and a bit beaten up over the years?
  4. Any evidence that this is the case or is he carrying an injury?

The World Cup decided by a penalty shoot out. There is no more damning criticism of the game than that.

Billions of people like McDonalds too. Just yesterday I saw a huge queue at a McDonalds' drive through.
  7. Thanks Sherlock! I was responding to Pickett's obeservation: "KYNAN BROWN, No 39 Really liked the look of this player, moved well has pace good skill set and plays not dissimilarly to his old man, terrific to see, "
  8. Excellent report Pickett and I agree with all of it My only observations were that I think it was Deakyn Smith running in rehab not AMW. I didn't see AMW there. But I could be wrong because @Demonland referenced him too. Kynan Brown really looked like a schoolboy amongst men to me. No doubt a year of growth and development will do him the world of good.
  9. Kye Turner is in the main training group and doesn't look out of place. Trent Burgoyne was in the rehab group and did a lot of running including a 6 minute fartlek. It was a very long and high intensity session. I got there at 9:30 and they were already into it and finished with a solid running session at noon. I think other posters have covered my main take aways. I didn't see AMW but I might have missed him. I think everyone else was there. Jefferson and Sestan are training with the main group. Sestan has a very mature body and ran out the match sim surprisingly well for someone off a low base. Adams and Verrall are in the rehab group running. They both have solid frames for development.
  10. Yes OK thanks, Kye definitely got a fly there.
  11. Jefferson got some very nice air in pics 16 and 44 which are from the same marking contest.
  12. Backline looks decent, including Hardwick and DGB on the bench. The ball is going to spend a lot of time down there with that young midfield.
  13. Nick Watson 169cm - who is the shortest ever to go top 10?
  14. I find it helps if you know the players' numbers.
  15. Looks like the tall son of Mr.Bean.
  16. We'll have 5 30+yo best 22 players at the start of the the 2023 season plus 3 who are 28yo and 7 who are 27yo. Geelong will have 12 30+yo best 22 players at the start of the 2023 season, plus 1 who is 29yo and 2 who are 27yo. Both teams have 15 best 22 who are 27+yo but there's a big difference in the detail with 10 of ours under 30 compared with only 3 of theirs.
  17. Some really great photos there. The Bowey kick and Viney mark with the terrace houses in the background are both superb. They capture the exact moment in precise focus.
  18. Ben has been great at the club Best wishes for the future!
  19. and will head straight back to Tasmania when the team starts up there in a few years ...
  20. Rubbish assessment. Jefferson won't make any impact until September 2025, which is fine.
  21. "Bet with jailmates"
  22. But will you "be happy to be wrong"? 😀
