  1. Similarly experienced line up didn’t help us vs Richmond at Casey 2 weeks ago, but last week was a good win vs Box Hill away, so who knows?
  2. I expect Harmes and Schache to be held over for the MFC games in case, Harmes as sub again. I think it still means about 15 listed MFC players in the Casey team. If Spargo plays then the forward line is pretty much all listed players: BBB, TMac, J.Smith, Jefferson, Spargo, Sestan, AMW.
  3. Competition at HF is pretty tight with Kossie, ANB, Chin in there and Spargo out. When Salem is fit there will may be someone else injured in the backline to ease his path. If not I'd prefer him to push Gus to the midfield but that's probably at the expense of JJ.
  4. The thread is really about his character not his record. His continual references to "Mrs. Hardwick's advice" looked pretty hollow when they split up.
  5. I'm hoping he stays on at Richmond and drives them further down the Clarkson-Hawthorn road with a failed attempt at topping up. As has been pointed out Taranto and Hopper is looking like Mitchell and O'Meara already. No draft picks for 2 years and then Tasmania coming in. I don't like him but as I've posted before, the smart move by the AFL would be to get him up to GC. He could make a difference there.
  6. Since last year? North granted extra draft picks, list spots by the AFL - https://www.afl.com.au/news/847042
  7. I think we need to get the chant going long and strong on KB. You just know those moronic Magpie fans will boo him continuously.
  8. Changes in the last 30 years: Zone defence instead of man-on man. All 18 opposition team members in the attacking half. More effective blocking of forwards. More pressure on the kicker. These are some of the things that explain the difference in goals scored in the 1990s and today. You really going to try to argue that nothing has changed ?? Fair enough. We differ
  9. If it hasn't changed then we must have had a batch of hopeless forwards for the last 10 years - the Coleman Medal winner hasn't scored more than 80 goals, with 8 of the last 10 years below 70. Compared with the 1990s when the lowest was 81 goals and there were 6 years above 110 goals. 8 below 70 vs 6 above 110.
  10. Could add the "blockbuster round" where teams play their state rival and Victorian teams their "traditional rival" whoever that actually is. Gather round would also add another round of games. That would be 21×10 H&A games. Right now I think it's 23×9 games equivalent = 207 H&A games
  11. It's 8 years and top 25% for RFA otherwise UFA. 10 years UFA. Delisted and redrafted is UFA for life - that's JJ, he was delisted and then rookied.
  12. Yes it's a tough call to identify the top 10 paid players on the list. Kossie could well be in there along with Petty so both RFA? Harmes and Spargo are almost certainly not in there. Rivers too. So all UFA. Maybe a question mark or asterisk on the presumed RFAs and keep the UFAs as-is because they look safe to me.
  13. Love your work @Lucifers Hero it's great we have very few concerning FAs in the list. Petty RFA and Spargo UFA in 2025 are the only two I can see. I assume you've allocated them that way because you've guessed a salary differential? I'm not overly concerned with Harmes UFA next year, he may want to look elsewhere for more consistent midfield opportunities and I think we would be OK with that. We do have a swathe of 10 year UFAs but that can't be avoided.
  14. And laughed about it while Bernie was doubled over on the ground.
  15. No I don't like him, dirty sniper. I am pleased he has overcome his health issues and I'm pleased he experienced a 90pt defeat at our hands.
  16. Pies off a 5 day break. Burgo?
  17. All I said was "coming for DS" not that you've gone "against the sites code of conduct" Like I said DS is in the opinion business and he aways provides reasoning for his position. I don't always agree and sometimes I strongly disagree, but overall I appreciate his content and that's why I highlighted his thoughtful Spargo vs JJ post and defended him. Players are not immune from reasoned critique. I've argued against him on Brayshaw too but I defend his right to his reasoned opinions. There's a hundred posters here posting ill-thought-through hip-shooting nonsense. DS isn't one of them in my book.
  18. "Blinkered, triggered, hopelessly compromised, unintelligent nonsense"
  19. R1 you're right Kossie, Spargo and Chandler all played and Fritsch was out injured. R2 & 3 Kossie out suspended. R4 & 5 All 4 played in the 22 R6 & 7 Spargo out with concussion. In the two matches where all 4 were available they all played.
  20. I like this post. It's quality analysis. A few a coming for @DeeSpencer here but I think he provides well thought out material. I don't always agree, for example I'm a big fan of Gus, but there is also a grain of truth in DS view on him. I agree with him on Lewis. DS is the opinion business like Hannibal ( @Gator?) - you won't agree with everything but you'll get value for your time reading him.
  21. Keen for you to explain how Kossie, Chandler and Spargo all played together this year when JJ was sub.
  22. Not me, no way. I vividly remember 17 consecutive defeats to this mob (pun intended) Ibetween 2007-17 including by 122pts at Docklands in 2013. We couldn't have beaten them by enough last night. I was very happy with our 90pt margin off a 5 day break. I'll just add that we're playing the MCG better this season.
