Farewell Brodie Grundy
I added information to my post above. Post the bye Grundy played in 4 games and we went 1-3 in those games. Overall the team went 7-3. We went 6-0 without Grundy ... Schache is more flexible than Grundy, he can play forward, back or ruck - that's why he made a better sub than Grundy. Simply saying we didn't pick Grundy because we thought the team had a better chance of winning is the simplest explanation based on the facts.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Because the FD thought the 23 they selected had the best chance of winning? Post the bye Grundy played in 4 games and we went 1-3 in those games. Overall the team went 7-3. We went 6-0 without Grundy ...

Harrison Petty
We won't trade Petty. Hold him to his contract and start negotiations on a great extension next year. If it doesn't work out then we've got a year to make alternative plans. He has 2 years to run so if he wants to go to the Crows at the end of next year they still have to pay up big for a contracted player.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Grundy didn't work out for us primarily because Max couldn't play effectively as a forward as he hoped. I think the insinuation that Grundy wouldn't play for us in the finals is far fetched. The criticism that he began discussing his future with other teams at that time is misplaced. He only had a few weeks to make a major life move. There's no doubt in my mind that he could have played for us and sorted his future simultaneously. It happens in RL all the time. He didn't play for us in the finals because the FD didn't select him.

Trade Rumours 2023
It could be that simple. We take O'Sullivan and Wilson. On the other hand we might really rate Duursma. 6 + 11 to North for 3. North give 2 + 11 to WC for 1. North get Reid and Sanders. WC get Curtin and one of those above at 11, or maybe Tholstrup, who seems to have tested well at the Combine.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
You're suggesting we upgrade 5 AND get 2 more top 10 picks with 13, a F1st which should be in the teens, and a bunch of 2nd and 3rd rounders. It's just not feasible IMO. @Slartibartfast is entitled to an "how?" Give us a scenario ...

Farewell James Harmes
Can't be a F2nd because the Dogs already traded their F1st to GC. They can trade their F4th due to revised AFL rules. I think it needs to be a pick this year. They're in a tight spot for picks to cover Croft and make trades. I wonder if they are trading anyone out?

I think Dan McKenzie OOC at St.Kilda can play. Has been injured for quite a while but if he passes a medical I'd be keen.

2023 List and Contract Details
I don't have confirmation on these, but I think I heard in association with the new CBA that: The extra Veterans list spot was not agreed Mid season Rookies can stay on the Rookie list for an extra year so it may not be compulsory to elevate Disco

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
I think there was some discussion associated with the new CBA that mid season rookies could stay on the rookie list for an extra year, so you might be right about Disco's elevation able to be delayed. Reports from the BnF, BBB told posters that he's playing on.

2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
At this stage I only see 3 primary list vacancies to take to the draft. Off (6): Harmes, Grundy, Hibberd, Melksham (re-rookied), Jordon, Dunstan On (3): D.Turner (elevated), McAdam, Fullarton One of those 3 will be Kynan Brown with a late pick, so we'll only be taking 2 live picks to the draft. We'll be trading up, trading out to 2024 or both.

Any word on Angus?
Gus would have finished a clear 3rd in the BnF too if the "accident" hadn't happened.

Any word on Angus?
Thanks, what is his alignment, do you know? I think this is an important consideration.
