  1. The proposal would be something like 25 + 33 + Grundy pick to GC for 10. Gives them more points.
  2. I think that's very hard to believe. How did you like his SF game? We wanted to keep Bedford and we offered him a 3 year contract and were sorry to lose him. I'd be disappointed if we offered JJ a 3 year contract.
  3. Is that a fact? Pretty sure @Nudge and @Ethan Tremblay have their fingers on the pulse of something big. Come on guys - show your cards!
  4. Maybe we can throw in Bob Spargo and Bob Spargo Snr as well.
  5. Chris Newman is moving from Hawthorn to Richmond as Assistant Coach, that probably confirms McQualter is on the move.
  6. And fans are deserting the game in droves as a result.
  7. Jordan Croft is yet to nominate as F/S at The Dogs and with their tall forward stocks it's not a complete surprise. I wonder if they'll still chase GC's 4 with 10 + 18 + future something if he doesn't nominate them? He might fall in around our pick 13 if he doesn't nominate.
  8. Contract length is a factor too. Maybe a contract worth $4.5M is top 5%?
  9. Like this year when Oliver was out for 10 weeks?
  10. Gee if $750k x 6 years = $4.5M isn't band 1 then it's a very high bar.
  11. Next generation of KPBs coming through?
  12. It's a midfielders medal no doubt, but are you really suggesting that the top 10 - Neale, Bontempelli, N.Daicos, Gulden, Butters, Petracca, Serong, Viney, Cripps and Anderson are a set of "marketing" imposters and not a roll call of the top midfielders in the AFL in season 2023?
  13. Christian Petracca and Jack Viney in the top 8 in the Brownlow, then there's that fellow Oliver. Andrew Brayshaw's brother is there too and Tom Sparrow on the rise ...
  14. That was before Harrison Petty became a forward. I know the mantra is "best available" for developing lists, but with a contending list like ours I think we need to draft for needs.
  15. Don't need a KPB like O'Sullivan to apprentice May?
  16. If they're any good the AFL will 100% come up with a package to get them to kick start the Tasmanian team. Special "marketing" salary cap bonus. It's pretty rare to have such high quality in the draft from Tamania. They'll be in the perfect age range. It's an irresistible prospect for the AFL.
  17. There'll be a relevance spike if Collingwood loses tragically.
  18. We're not going to change our game style approach under Simon Goodwin, although at times during the year we did use the ball more creatively going inside 50 - e.g. the Carlton SF was better than the Collingwood QF. But it's still within the same approach of a contest/territory game and weight of numbers of i50s. And we're not going to trade Max, Clarrie, Christian or Jack for "better users". Given all that, I'm in the "we need better finishers forward" camp, and as @rpfc predicts - if we have them then delivery will also improve as a result - I think that was borne out when Petty was operating at his peak. It's the least disruptive change and we weren't far off. McAdam sounds like a good acquisition. Petty, JVR, Fritsch McAdam, Kossie, and we all know ANB will be in there. Another elite finishing small would be good but they're hard to acquire, maybe adding McAdam and getting full seasons out of Petty and Fritsch is enough. We can get some organic improvement too. I think Chandler is a good player who ran out of steam as the season progressed, maybe with another pre-season he can improve further. Laurie has some very nice skills and vision, and if he can get really fit over summer, like McVee did, then he could be a contributor. AMW shows some promise at Casey. I think Woey is a bit vanilla for the forward role and fits in the midfield depth roster in place of JJ and Harmes. If I was Spargo I'd be looking at my options elsewhere.
  19. Who do you want to get rid of, and who should replace them? "Jimmy wants to trade Petracca, Oliver and Gawn" is on a par with the ridiculous "3 of the worst 10 kicks" line.
  20. Wow maybe something to do with the quality of forwards in receipt of the kicks and the ones missing injured?
  21. I'm on record not wanting to draft McKercher and the better he is, the stronger my conviction. If he lives up to expectations he'll be off to captain the inaugural Tasmanian team just when we need him to take the reins from an aging midfield. Yes we'll get good draft compensation but we won't be in the phase needing an 18yo mid. Bookmark it.
  22. How about some explanation instead of the over the top gif. And how about a realistic alternative and the reasons they are better.
  23. Yes, maybe the Swans will get confused and not realise they get JJ for free as UFA.
