Once we shopped these players hard in trade period there was no going back - the message is we don't want you even though you're in contract. If that the case it's the right thing to do to move Stefan Martin on.

Farren Ray is a better version of Rohan Bail and having both would be very useful.

I'm on board with this trade too - we rate Pedersen and we don't rate Gysberts who WAS a first round pick - history is littered with them. Interesting to see if a pick is involved and what we want it for - hopefully trade for Farren Ray. FWIW surprised North went for Gysberts when they already have better versions in Ziebell and Cunnington.

Pederson deal looks like going down the the wire. North want Jacobs and don't want to do a deal with us only to see us snaffle 33 for Martin after that. Tippett uncertainty appears to be cruelling the Martin trade. I suspect Pederson for 49 to us and maybe Jacobs for 38 to North at the last minute on Friday.

It's tricky because the clubs have specific picks - something like this could work ... Brisbane out: 33 & 53 Brisbane in: Martin & 39 Melbourne out: Martin & 49 Melbourne in: Pederson & 53 North out Pederson & 39 North in: 33 & 49

Takes forever to get a game for MFC when coming back from injury - compared with Tapscott, Jetta and Strauss who were virtually straight in. Lasts one game after being promoted.

3, 14, 27 and 48 for Viney, Hogan, Dawes, Barry and 63 is good work IMO - I wouldn't change a thing.

If we have Dawes and Pedersen in the fwd line then Clark can go into the ruck for 20 minutes and, as someone observed, we really get a lot of drive when he's in there.

Martin is hopeless fwd.

IMO we've done very well so far in the F/S, mini-draft, FA and trade period and we're not done yet. Pick 3 for Viney, 13 for Dawes, no Hogan - that's a possible alternative scenario. 4, JV and a rookie upgrade or a mature player no-one else is after at that pick and there's been a lot of crying here over nothing.

Viney at pick 27?

Hopefully Pedersen is across the line and that makes Martin even more tradable. I'd like us to pick up a ready-to-go mid- I'd be happy with Ray. Wouldn't surprise me if we drafted a mature player from outside the AFL with our 3rd pick.
