  1. I think you'll find that if he's traded they decided it can't.
  2. That's right. IMO what this is all about is GWS getting incentive not to nominate him.
  3. That would be very hard to argue with. Barry would be relying on them going on to successful careers elsewhere.
  4. Cook in Casey 2s at this stage of the year, his development and our injury list. That looks "gorn" to me. Fitzpatrick contracted.
  5. You're over-complicating it, Neeld clearly isn't happy with him. 97% gone.
  6. He's probably thinking of making space to draft Michael Tuck, Kevin Bartlett and Teddy Whitten to increase the average ...
  7. I don't agree with these assumptions at all ... Chances of Gold Coast nominating Jacky Viney 5% - GC have had a horrible year and can't afford to get too smart and they don't want Viney full stop. Chances of GWS nominating Jack Viney 95% - Sheedy, Silvagni and Allan's modus-operandi is being too smart, vindictive and conniving. And just for good measure ... Chances of MFC taking Viney at pick 3 if he's nominated = 100%
  8. wowee-wee-wow - unprecedented! You left out not fit or experienced enough. Gold in hyperbole - you're giving the Olympic long-jump record a nudge. Utterly incredible!
  9. Where's your evidence for this? Please list the dispirited players and the evidence that that informs you they are dispirited.
  10. The FA compensation is not based on the same formula as the GWS OOC compensation.
  11. The formula is an AFL secret, just like the PP formula is now a secret too.
  12. Jack Viney may well be a "culture changer", but that's not how "culture" is a primarily impacted by this situation. MFC uphold their agreement to draft the talented son of a club legend - that's the key "culture" part. The bad "culture" is keeping our options open to take some other player who may be a slightly better player than Viney.
  13. Whose monty? Wanna bet your house on it? I wouldn't. Ol' Lynden and ol' Joel have been consistently playing senior football this year and Neeld is on record wanting a more mature list. I don't know what's going to happen, it's not easy to predict,
  14. The theorists who think that the recent allegations are a conspiracy to get CS fired are either missing the point or those perpetrating the conspiracy are feeble-minded. As rpfc has pointed out - that type of attack only works to cement the bonds between board and CEO who will defend the allegations strenuously in a united front.
  15. I think there's ties that bind the board and CS together just at the moment.
  16. Possibly. Or they might want some more concrete evidence on the positives the players bring. Can Gysberts really extract at AFL level? Or they might be show-casing those positives to clubs in the trade market. Those Blease goals sure look purrty. I do think the reverse of your suggestion probably applies - those players not in the 22 are on shaky ground - for example if Lucas Cook can't get a game angainst GC or GWS then there's cause for concern.
  17. Joel Macdonald has played a lot of senior football this year for someone about to be delisted. Unsure that "disposal worries" are at the top of Neeld's worries - they might be, but I get the impression that intensity at the contest and engine may rank higher. I've got my own ideas on who I'd delist but they're just that. I expect Mark Neeld has different ideas.
  18. Agree, it seems to me from the outside that he was "meddling" in the football department because he didn't rate the direction that Bailey was taking us in but no-one was listening to him. I don't see that as a failing. Some don't like that and say he focuses too much on our past, but I see that he has a plan for differentiating us in a crowded market. Maybe he should have changed our name to iMelbourne and got us trending?
  19. I'll be surprised if Macdonald and Spencer are delisted - I think they have the approach Neeld appreciates. Jetta, Bail and Davis too. Less certain about Moloney, Blease and Cook. Jurrah's a tough one to call too. It's going to be fascinating to see who the FD rate.
  20. Gysberts and Blease have both got some good attributes and did some nice things yesterday, Gysberts inside and Blease outside but neither is fit enough for AFL football. Dunno if they can get there but Neeld, Misson and Craig will. If they can they'll be handy. The other 2 10-20 picks Tapscott and Strauss are safer bets to make it at MFC. I've had my doubts about Tapscott but he was good yesterday, Strauss needs to wind up to the confidence he established before his injury and he''l be a solid player.
