    Farren Ray

We currently don't have 22 of them.
  2. 3, 14, 27 and 48 for Viney, Hogan, Dawes, Barry and 63 is good work IMO - I wouldn't change a thing.
  3. Wow a rumour that can't be shared from a source that can't be named from someone I don't know - wow, thanks!
  4. If we have Dawes and Pedersen in the fwd line then Clark can go into the ruck for 20 minutes and, as someone observed, we really get a lot of drive when he's in there.
  5. Clubs queueing up to get Moloney and a massive contract bidding war I must've missed?
  6. IMO we've done very well so far in the F/S, mini-draft, FA and trade period and we're not done yet. Pick 3 for Viney, 13 for Dawes, no Hogan - that's a possible alternative scenario. 4, JV and a rookie upgrade or a mature player no-one else is after at that pick and there's been a lot of crying here over nothing.
  7. Hopefully Pedersen is across the line and that makes Martin even more tradable. I'd like us to pick up a ready-to-go mid- I'd be happy with Ray. Wouldn't surprise me if we drafted a mature player from outside the AFL with our 3rd pick.
  8. If we waited longer we might not have got Byrnes - we're not exactly an attractive destination - we need to actively pursue the players we want, let the players we don't want go and let the compensation take care of itself.
  9. Err - it wasn't brought in to benefit the clubs. Scully compo pick 4 and 13 vs Ward compo pick 6 - tell it to the Dogs - next minute you'll be hammering on he AFL door to hand back that pick 4 I imagine. The same people whinging about FA compo were whinging about Scully compo. Port seems to have done well - but Chaplin did get 4 years. Hawthorn seems to have done poorly when Young got 3 years. It's no real surprise that Byrnes contract would be similar to Rivers and Moloney. Two year modest deals. The "handout" mentality here is amazing - Free Agency isn't the lazy man's trade bonanza.
  10. Agree they've done very well IMO Out: 24yo KPF - In: 28yo KPF/ruck + 1st rounder Out: 24yo mid - In: 28yo mid + 1st rounder By the time the 28yos move on the 1st rounders will be ready to go.
  11. mee too but must be at least 3 chars
  12. He didn't say he left because we tanked ...
  13. Good luck to Riv - hopefully a win-win. Scarlett - big shoes to fill ... Looks like a 3-way with McIntosh going to Geelong for 36 and our compo pick likely to go to North for Pedersen, which they'll on trade to Port for Jacobs http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/department-of-trades/jared-rivers-hamish-mcintosh-join-geelong-in-trade-coup/story-fn69a32t-1226498564307 If true, another very nice piece of work by Tim Harrington.
  14. GWS trying to (allegedly) trade picks now not collect them.
  15. Tim Harrington has been at pains in all the interviews I've heard to point out that we need to look at the overall result of our action in FA, trading and drafting ... In for Out = Result Hogan for ND3 = looks par Draftee for 4 = looks par Viney for 13 = looks value Dawes for 26 = looks par Barry + 58 for 45 = looks par Byrnes for Moloney = looks par It's too easy to take for granted that we got Viney in the 2nd round, secured a very highly rated key forward (THE hardest position to fill) in the mini-draft and attracted a mature KPF and a premiership small forward to our "untouchable club". I reckon we're going very well and we're not done yet.
  16. If we rate him that would be a good idea because the Cats won't use the pick because they don't have the list room to use it and could on trade it as part of the Hamish McIntosh deal.
  17. I'd be OK if the nett is: Out: 20, Moloney, Rivers, Martin In: Dawes, Byrnes, Pedersen, Ray altho many here will squark because we've lost so may champeeeens
  18. Probably because they don't want the clubs to manipulate it.
