I think there's a difference in development strategies for different roles. We've got Frost, OMac, Hunt, Wagner playing at MFC in the backline because the important development there is to gel as an AFL unit with TMac and Jetta. They're not going to get that at VFL level. Meanwhile we've got Weideman, Hulett and Oliver working on specific individual attributes e.g. defensive play, spread, that they can learn at VFL level

Agree. Prendergast was par on early and late picks (great teams are better than this of course - hopefully Taylor is). Prendergast's big failure was these picks in the 10-20 range. 0% hit rate is an absolute shocker - we should have 3 or 4 very good players in their mid 20s from these picks and that would be very handy right now.

I don't think Dawes has ever shown the talent that Hogan has and with Dawes is now in his late 20s while Hogan is in his his early 20s, I don't think we can rely on Dawes to cover the loss of Hogan.
