and?

No, they played Windsor straight away because they saw he was ready even though for example to me it looked like Kolt was far more ready at pre-season training, they held Kolt back until he played well in the midfield at Casey and he is doing well now. They didn't play McVee in his first year when he looked miles off but played him round one in his second year when he had shown readiness on the back of a big pre-season. They held back JVR in his first year and unleashed him when he was ready in his second year and he has been a continuous selection every since, unlike KPFs at other clubs who are in and out. There are many other examples. Perhaps you prefer the Jack Watts QB experience or Michael Tucks 100 games in the 2s ...

Barass and McGovern would be putting on the bid and licking their lips. If Petty doesn't get up then Fullarton or BBB are next in line. IMO Jefferson needs to maintain continuity at Casey.
-
I think the FD has a good record of knowing when players are ready.
-
Yeah no comparison really - Goodwin a premiership coach with a 58% win record vs Mitchell a rookie coach, yet to coach finals and with a 38% win record. I recall we beat Hawthorn 93-38 earlier this year.
-
Like JVR pick 19 in his first season with us?
-
Friday to Sunday week should give Petty time to recover unless it's another serious injury.
-
You'd get sick of it.

I thought Petty played very well apart from his finishing in front of goal, which he's shown before he can do. Got up and down the ground providing a target and took many contested marks. He's Ok at ground level for his role too. He's getting back to his capability and is definitely a keeper.

So we got JVR in lieu of Andrew which is fine by me - we'realready trying to turn key backs into forwards. And we avoided paying Windsor, Kolt, this year's and next year's firsts for Reid, yeah he's good but not that good.
-
And JVR fell in our lap as a result

The woes are in the midfield. Berry will probably go to Clarry, I think we should send ANB to Neale a la the Nick Daicos tag, that leaves Viney head to head with Dunkley and Rivers head to head with McCluggage. The damage may be able to be limited somewhat.

Took Norf and the line as insurance
-
I thought you said North at the line looked good?
-
I won't be surprised if it's a reasonably even contest with North Melbourne tomorrow on that basis.
-
We should have a reasonable contingent of listed MFC players available: Billings, Laurie, Schache, Jefferson, McAdam, Adams, Verrall, Fullarton, Sestan, Woewodin, AMW, B.Brown and maybe the MFC sub depending on how musch AFL game time they get.
-
9 changes from the 2021 flag 23 tomorrow, in jumper number order: In: JVR, McVee, Windsor, Tomlinson, Howes, Chandler, Tholstrup, K.Brown, Turner Out: Harmes, Petracca, Jackson, Lever, Spargo, Brayshaw, Hibberd, Jordon, B.Brown 8 of the 9 replacements have less than 50 games, 3 have less than 10, 5 have less than 20.

A Moyle trade should be number one priority IMO. Battle and Parfitt are good UFA targets.
-
Could be lonely since we have the bye.
-
I'm guessing they want to see Tommo vs McCreery tomorrow. It's a horror movie ...
-
It's not ideal but I think it's workable if the midfield takes advantage of the ruck disadvantage.
-
Agree. It would have to be some combination of Fullarton/Verrall, JVR and Petty.
-
Not as first ruck 70% in the AFL at present no. And it's doubtful ever for the size reasons I posted, but he has other valuable attributes.
-
Kolt can play. He'll make it as a mid or mid-fwd.
