What to do on the weekend after the grand final?
Getting my COVID shot on Saturday, so that might blow my whole weekend depending on my reaction. If so, I'll be laying in bed watching the replay ad nauseam with every commentary under the sun, one by one.

Melbourne Demons - The movie/documentary?
This would have to be a Lord of the Rings style trilogy there's so much content. The 2021 season would just be the end bit when they get home from Mount Doom.

Need a new user name
Might be a bit too long but how about: You know that thing I questioned would ever happen in my lifetime? Well it happened!

Back to Back?
Not sure about veils, but they come in glasses form (with a lovely rose tint to boot).

It's Home
We'll surely be the most motivated team in history to go back-to-back I would have thought.

"Luke Jackson won't make it as a ruckman" Dwayne Russell 3/12/20
Ruck/Rover.

It's Home
So, basically exactly like me this whole week.

It's Home
I notice the cup still doesn't have WON BY MELBOURNE on it. When does that happen?
-
It's Home
Am I the only one who has no desire to touch the cup itself? To me it's like the ark of the covenant - only the truly worthy may place their hands upon it.

It's Home
Old mate should know how to wear a mask by now!

It's Home
I expected the players would be remaining in WA for longer to holiday post-season, given the mess Victoria is in. Have only some of them come back or all of them?

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Also I'd say they were only in the game for an hour, so perhaps it worked.

The Quotes
If more were done than said, the people who get things done wouldn't be so valuable. The MFC got stuff done this year - on that we can all agree.

Most Improved Player
Angus Brayshaw. Never has my opinion of a player shifted more dramatically in a single year. I wanted him shipped to Freo and actually thought he was a culture killer last year. The way he has embraced and led that team-first ethos from a wing (the position we needed to fill the most) is possibly the single biggest thing that got us to this point. Future captain if he wants it.

Grand Final Violence and the Rules in Finals in general.
A Youtube rabbit hole led me to the 1992 GF last night, and the first 15 minutes especially from Gary Ablett were unlike anything you could possibly see these days in terms of illegal hits. Not sure how a modern team would respond to that, and I could see it winning a flag out of the blue (with major controversy coming from it). I think a player or team will go full 1990s one year and cause a red card or something similar to have to come into play in future years.

Your favourite grand final photo
Hey how did Jacko get early access to that 2021 Premiers Tee? They're not due till December. Some folks get all the luck!

The Quotes
If this weren't the biggest game of my life and I had not had bigger things to worry about going on at the time, BT's call of "Frothies May" would have sent me into overdrive.

An awakening
I think it's the raw number of supporters that people point at when they say Melbourne is a small club. Our conversion rate of supporters to members is huge, but again it costs money to be a member. It costs even more to be an MCC member or AFL member, and that's the group where all this merchandise is coming from I reckon (or a lot of it anyway).

An awakening
You don't get a reputation for being private school going, Bulla skiing, Range Rover driving, grange drinking, Brie scarfing snobs without a bit of cash to back it up. Demons fans might be smaller in number but when we really get going the money is there no doubt.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
Can't say I'd be particularly flattered at the likeness if I were Max, but hey it has a premiership cup in his beard so that earns it a lot of points.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
- Farewell Neville Jetta
That this video is a bizarre mix of small forward magic and "umm no you'll not get past me" small defender godliness is so unique, but the defender portion of Jetta's career was just so good. Imagine Nev from 3-4 years ago in this defence. The other team would never score.- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
And there it is, the first post-flag controversy!- POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
I filmed myself for the whole game, but that ain't seeing the light of day! This one goes alright though. Caden MacDonald, professional footy nuffy but still pretty raw in his reactions:- Jack Viney not being loved enough?
Clearly this is a cunning and targeted recruiting strategy by the Saints after seeing the dearth of Jacks that cost them a premiership during Nick Reiwoldt's time (his cousin Jack going on to be a triple premiership player for the Tigers). - Farewell Neville Jetta
