  1. Well, Ryan O'Keefe bleeds red and something, at least.
  2. Who gives a hoot about that? We won, and that's all that matters. Why ruin a victory by harping on about something that may or may not have happened.
  3. Do you all hate footy so much that you can't even enjoy a game once in a while? West Coast are terrible, and yesterday was not their worst game this year. They've only won 1 game at the MCG since they won the Grand Final in '06. I'm almost certain that tanking has never occurred on the field or in the coaches box. The only time it's ever happened is in the selection of players and the decision to put players in cotton wool, so that they can be 'Cherry Ripe' for the next year. Give it a break. The umpiring was actually okay. Supporters are always biased, and almost all of West Coast's frees were there, and ours were not there. We won the game anyway, so why ruin it by whining about the umpiring or whether our opponents were trying. Go dees!
  4. No problem.
  5. Our Average Age was 22.77, while West Coast's was 23.18. Not even six months in it. And I'm almost positive that our team today was at least a year or two younger than Hawthorn and Carlton's.
  6. Totally agree. Except I think the word you're looking for isn't anathema, it's antithesis. But that's not to detract from what is otherwise a fantastic post.
  7. I agree. It's not like they were suddenly crap in the last quarter, allowing us to run over the top of them. The were terrible all game - we were just worse in the first quarter.
  8. I'm not a fan of players changing their numbers, so I hope Aussie and Valenti keep theirs. I'd also retire Neita's for a while, and give the new guys jumpers in the order that they come to the club.
  9. Well, big Meesen was in the best for Sandy this week, so I'd give him a run if Whitey isn't right. If he plays, it's fitting that we're going over to Adelaide this week.
  10. I'm not sure what the problem is, but if it is intentionally bad umpiring, what would be the point? I mean, what do the umps have to gain by favouring one side over another?
  11. Good to see Meesen in the best. Great to see Petterd with 4 goals.
  12. This is totally off-topic, but is a goal from outside 50 counted as an inside-50? Does anyone even know what I mean. By the way, I assume it doesn't.
  13. 6. Cameron Bruce, for his clearances in a team that is terrible in that area. 5. Cale Morton, because of his marking, running and kicking. 4. Brad Green, for his courage and footy smarts. Would have come close to BoG if he had kicked straighter. 3. Paul Johnson. I'll miss him until next year. 2. Matthew Whelan. Superb tackling and defensive pressure. We're real lucky to have him teaching our younger defenders. 1. Paul Wheatley. Lots of positive, attacking disposals. Did well today. Honourable mentions to James McDonald, Nathan Jones, Matthew Bate, Brad Miller and Clint Bartram. I also liked Michael Newton's pressure in the first quarter, as well as his leading throughout the game.
  14. Everyone but you. Tool!
  15. It was a crappy, windy day. And the shots on goal I think you're referring to happened late in the game, when it was raining and the ball was harder to kick. Cast your minds back to the Western Bulldogs game a few rounds ago. Miller was slotting them from all angles that day. Just be happy with the win. Go Dees!
  16. But we don't want to create a team of Carr's and the like.
  17. I wonder what Christie Malthouse thinks of her dad.
  18. Top post. Totally agree.
  19. Not a chance. He's a dumber, slower, far less talented Michael Newton.
  20. Dude, I'm sorry but the point of the article was not "Colin Sylvia hasn't got a body that's capable of week in week out performance." Rather it was "Colin Sylvia has not been training in a way that addresses his weaknesses, but is now doing so." Since you've read the piece, I'm sure you remember how it mentioned that since he has been working on his weak core, Colin has been able to notch up his longest consecutive games streak. This would suggest to me that he's developing in the way that we want him to. The fact is that Colin Sylvia has great potential, is under the magical 24 years of age that we're looking for and is in a career best position regarding his fitness. But that's only my opinion.
  21. Ray Biffin is right up there with Luke Ball and Henry Playfair for players with suitable names. Kind of like Detective Bookman the Library Cop or Mr. Cone the ice cream salesman.
  22. Refresh my memory. Were we going for any of these guys? Good for them, but irrelevant for us.
  23. Fart? So are you not really a fan of footy in general?
  24. Yeah, I think it's 20 000 every week. You'd think we'd get a few people to come just because of the fact that it's on a Saturday, and it's one of the last chances to see us play this year. Not to mention the fact that we're a real chance of winning this week. By the way, who the heck's gonna line up on Quentin Linch?
