    Game Day

Thanks for the quick answer. Looking forward to something . . . anything from Cale Morton and Aaron Davey today. And it would be nice to see Mitch Clark pick up a couple of strong contested marks one on one inside the forward fifty.
  2. I just thought I'd kick off the game day thread with a question. Does anyone have any inside info on whether our jumpers will be covered in stickers and masking tape like last week, or will they have had enough time to get them professionally altered?
  3. Loving your posts, Yoss. Lots of interesting comments.
  4. It really is bizarre that we've elevated Tom Couch on the back of consistent good results in the VFL, and yet we've neglected to play him in one of the least promising Melbourne sides I've ever seen.
  5. I'm hoping to see none of the following: Token chasing Misskicks High tackles Out on the fulls Losing 1-on-1 marking contests Long, blind bombs to the forward 50 Casually taking kick-ins Attempted speccies with no-one to crumb the ball at ground level Being drawn to the ball like little-leaguers Ruck taps to disadvantage More behinds than goals
  6. Agreed. Not many Pies did, and all the while Bucks was going mental and I was loving it!
  7. My jury has been well and truly in on Davey and Bennell for about two years. I just want to see Jetta's body let him string a couple of games together before I judge him, and the jury literally is out on Liam Jurrah.
  8. He's too busy being a fantastic assistant coach at yet another successful South Australian side.
  9. At least he tried. He could teach that work ethic to a couple of our players. What about the "great" Travis Cloke, who couldn't take a mark to save himself? I would have preferred Dawes' performance over Cloke's tonight.
  10. Because Betts, Yarran and Garlett are hungry, but Davey and Bennell are not. Jurrah's going through some tough times and Jetta's injured, so the jury's still out on them.
  11. I have Pendles, but my opponent has him as Captain. I'm happy to take the hit this week if it means my enemy's captain is out of the equation.
  12. Maybe we should campaign to get Dane Swan on The Biggest Loser. He's looking a little porky.
  13. He's out of contract at the end of next year.
  14. If Bate's the sub again, then Mark Neeld is clearly an imbecile. He won't be the sub, so Neeld's reputation will be intact.
  15. I have been thinking for a while that we should have a thread where people can put all the interesting twitter updates the Dees boys come up with. Maybe Jonesy's surfing tweets aren't all that interesting, but Brad Green's reaction to his being dropped is. Same with Sellar's early call that he'll be selected to play his "first game for the Dees on the G" this week. Some of us aren't up with the "twitter machine" as Brian Taylor calls it, so it would be nice to provide a thread for anyone to place the tweets they hear from the players. Talk is cheap, but most of the time, it's better than nothing. I'll start off with two from Brad Green tonight. I posted them on another thread, but I'll put them here too: "Get behind the boys on Sat, I want to see a huge demon crowd at the MCG... I will be doing everything I can to get back in the side...." "Thank's for the msg's. I have the utmost respect for Neeldy, we always have open and honest discussions. The reason I am not picked is form."
  16. Greeny's a classy guy. His twitter reactions speak for themselves: "Thank's for the msg's. I have the utmost respect for Neeldy, we always have open and honest discussions. The reason I am not picked is form." "Get behind the boys on Sat, I want to see a huge demon crowd at the MCG... I will be doing everything I can to get back in the side...." Hopefully he can recapture some of his form from 2010. There's a reason we were all clamouring for him to be given the captaincy at the end of that year.
  17. That can't be right. Several usually means three or more. It's a one year contract, and the old one was for an unprecedented 2 million dollars. Unless the two-year extension is included in the "several million dollar" figure, this report appears incorrect.
  18. Surely they'd at least be willing to match the shade of red to our jumper. I know it's not the exact colour, but it's still red. Having said that, priority 1 is a back of jumper sponsor. Priority 2 is making sure the logos work well with our existing colour scheme.
  19. I wish I could just casually bring up my plans for a $10 000 holiday . . .
  20. They mentioned Leigh Matthews' comments on League Teams too.
  21. It would be great if the actual logo is just the plane/mouse thing without the big red box. Our Primus logo was great because it was just the name, with no distracting colours around it. Pumped to get a sponsor, and I'm interested to see how the final image will look. Also, Trenners made a pretty big stuff-up mentioning the old sponsor by name. I would imagine that would be the first thing he would have been told not to do before coming onto the show. It doesn't really matter, but I'd like to distance the club from that old mob as much as possible.
  22. That's probably because his fitness is so poor. He's to tired to kick the ball properly.
