Another goal setup by Matty Bate - and yet he started as the sub today. Why?

Magner, Clark and Matthew Bate BOG for us. Everyone else needs a long hard look in a mirror. 1st gamer, pick-up from another club, and someone clearly so fed up with the Melbourne culture that he was screaming to get out last year. Everyone else is indoctrinated into the zombie-like fluff and chocolate (thanks WYL) outlook endemic to the MFC.

We already look better with Matthew Bate in the midfield. Clarky has kicked 5 goals, none of which have come from marks. That's an intictment on our midfield delivery.

Neeld not changing his positioning may be an attempt to instil his gameplan into the players. But by not moving his players around, he can't see what they can do. Throw Clark into the ruck, put Bate on for a whole game for once, put Garland up forward, put Frawley in the middle, put Jamar at full forward. Do something proactive. It's not all up to the players. They need to see that the coach is still trying things - that he still cares. But there's nothing. We may as well have a cadaver up in the coaches box.

This is Dean Bailey's doing (and the senior players). Mark Neeld has got a huge job ahead of him.

How the HELL is Clint Bartram left to defend Dean Cox? Absolute shite defence from the Dees. The only one who wanted to compete was one of the littlest guys on the ground. And THAT is why Clint Bartram won't be dropped any time soon. Because he does what everyone is capable of doing but too few Demons are willing to do.

It's amazing. You can full-blown shove someone in the side, but you can't feathertouch them in the back.

Nobody's blaming Clark for our poor performance. He's the least of our worries. Our poor disposal is the number one problem across the entire ground, and that's what we need to fix. But instead we spent the entire summer running with not a ball in sight. Compared to last year at the corresponding game, our kicking is just as bad. That means that an entire year has gone by with absolutely no improvement in the most fundamental skill required of a FOOTballer. Not good enough from Bailey, and not good enough from the players.

I don't care what we're paying him. I just care what he's good at. And he's not good at marking the ball in a contested situation. Ruckman are damn important, so we should swap Jamar for Clark. Jamar can mark the ball better, and Clark is of far more use around the ground.

Clark is more of a big bodied midfielder or crumber than a forward. He'd be awesome in the ruck, but for some reason, we're not playing him there.

I've yet to see Mitch Clark take a contested mark. He is not a forward. The only times we look deadly is when we're doing the Dean Bailey run through the middle. I don't know what to make of this.

Frawley's really been terrible today. Given away three goals.

Good passage of play, Melbourne. Good kicking from Magner opened up the field. No leading mark though. I'd like to see one of those before I die.

I thought Kennedy would destroy Rivers, but that has not happened. Out of Bounds count: 3 Head High tackle count: 4 Totally unnecessary and detrimental to our performance. Frustrating as all hell, too. Best that quarter: Rivers, Jones, McDonald, Bennell. Worst: Green, Clark, Macdonald, Frawley (just for his brainfades).
