Personally, I think Adelaide hitting a patch of awful form and being found out is a good thing for us.

I still believe the Melbourne Football Club brand is incredibly valuable. It has so much untapped potential, and just needs a little bit of sustained success to usher in a new era of supporters and members.

In the current climate, with the power the Players Association has, no club will ever force a player to stay at his club if he expresses his wish to leave. It’s just that simple.

The former, although Gawn is overrated in that people rate him even higher than the rucking awesomeness that he truly represents. The way people talk about him, you'd be forgiven for thinking we've never lost with him in the side.

Aside from the obvious (but possibly overrated) exception of Gawn, this is our best possible team IMO.

Foresight’s even better. I was clamouring to keep Pedersen in the team all late last year and this preseasons.

With the deliberate out of bounds rule, there should be one obvious change: If an opposition player could have gained possession of the ball but elected not to, then it’s not deliberate out of bounds.

Having just been through what Hogan’s been through, I was very ready to get back to my normal routine as soon as I could. Not everyone’s the same though, and I suspect Hoges might have a bit of trouble getting up.

If we had 20 Tom McDonalds, Melksham and JKH would still let us down.

We got into a position to make finals last year in large part because of Pedersen. As soon as he was dropped, our structure fell apart and we wilted. I’m very glad to see him back in the team because his maturity and structural importance is very very valuable.

Pedersen is elite…at sticking to structures. In modern footy, that skill is as good as gold.
