In your defence, you’re a Dees fan

Just a supposition but if King has plans for Petty back then that makes the depth chart pretty stacked.

He’s doing less riddling and that’s good enough for me

Farewell Christian Petracca
Because it’s about value, you are adjusting the value of the pick and rationalising and that is fine but then I would prefer if people stop saying “it’s ND6! It’s ND6!;” you are not getting the 6th shot at talent like 15 years ago. You are getting the 11th best shot at talent. It impacts the value of picks and should be reconciled before executing trades.

What if he hasn’t changed his behaviour? That’s not a rhetorical question

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
She used to be just ‘Jaded’ as rjay would say. That was pre-2021 So there is some definite backsliding

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Are you confusing me with someone else? I am lovely. Someone back me up. … Anyone?

Bailey Humphrey
If Humphrey kicks enough of a stink to Come to us it will be a straight swap, mate. GC think they are getting a distressed asset on the cheap and we want something of value from this deal. That impasse will only be breached if one of their assets suddenly becomes a problem…

I am very nice actually. And as a poster I have a lovely disposition. Perhaps tomorrow you can wake up, find a couple of minutes and actually look at what you are reacting so poorly to. I find you quite excitable and irascible, and why wouldn’t you be - you’re a Dees supporter at the end of the world. But have another read and take a joke.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Well this was immature. Are you hurt? That’s an excuse apparently. Or perhaps you suffer a behavioural affliction. Also an excuse Down a K-hole? Excuses for days…

Farewell Judd McVee
It’s fine. I don’t sweat the small stuff. He was OOC. I hope we keep it as it has inflated value after draft night. We might snag an another 1st round pick for 2026. Hopefully the club can stop being ‘so smart’ and just hold its picks for a bit.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
We aren’t going to have to worry about ‘performance’ or ‘production’ or ‘finals’. That’s not for us to worry about anymore. Don’t worry your tired brain about that… shhh… shhh…

The List Manager Tim Lamb
So you didn’t want to extend him? Doing ‘nothing’ was continuing to have pressure on us to lose him for little. Your posturing with little purpose.
-
The List Manager Tim Lamb
Losing good players for picks that don’t get you good players is how you end up ‘in the doldrums’ not long term deals with the cap nearing $20m. The long term deal is to protect the club from not getting value for the asset. The situation with Clarry is different because the asset is distressed which is why we have to pay half of his salary to make it less distressed for a possible club.

Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
You spelled hearsay as heresay and that’s heresy.
-
The List Manager Tim Lamb
That’s the real balls up. Tieing salary to the cap meant that we never got any relief as that contract aged. The long term deals are fine if you give them to the right players/people. I think we made a mistake on Oliver for reasons none of us want to elaborate on for a variety of reasons. If Lamb sticks around, he needs to be judged internally on how quickly he can realise King’s vision of the playing list.

Farewell Christian Petracca
We cannot get a price we want if we are unwilling to say ‘eff it. Steven - see what you can do’ He had problems with how well the club was run and guess what we did? We got rid of the Prez, the CEO, the head coach, and are trying to get rid of the bloke that was a weight on the culture. Absolute vindication and while he wants a fresh start he can have near that next year. If we are not willing to walk away then we are cooked and we may as well relent to picking up two of Adonski’s favourite teenagers and tank in 2026. When will we rise again? Not certain when you give away 50c on the dollar when you finally have good players.

Farewell Christian Petracca
Perhaps it would but the pressure on the club from fans such as those on here who on the one hand are filthy at Petracca and want him gone and expect the club to not have him on the books in 2026, and on the other hand expect the club to get its pound of flesh and get real value from him. At some point these are antithetical concepts - I am more than willing to let King have a go at making him into a fwd-mid who we try to minimise the times he kicks into the for are half. But there are fans that will not accept him back at all and is the club going to want to weather that?

Will Sam Mitchell and his wife take Bailey and his mum out for dinner? Stay tuned!

Farewell Christian Petracca
May fought openly on the field and off the field with his teammates. Oliver is still doing the things off field that would make Adam Kingsley rethink his interest in him. Petracca is at times insolent based on our terrible efforts of being a footy club. There are degrees and I do not think King wants to just ‘get rid of him’ the way he wants to do with Oliver. CP5 gets us Humphries or he stays.
