  1. What abuse? H would have to be one of the reasons I and other posters are still here. If this place was filled with YM's I would be over at cynicism and narcissism HQ - Demonology. Getting back to Aussie, I loved the celebrations. I'm not too sure many other players could get away witht that without looking like arrogant gits. 2nd best part of the day, behind Davey's goal. Sh!t that was good.
  2. Didn't mean to post thricely, but it works I think... Kind of a purging of the soul. Davey and Wonna are, or will be, more value than Jeff. Their lack of ego also helps; Wonna grasping every opportunity as he just wants to play footy and Davey doesn't have long form slumps - he bounces back within a couple of weeks.
  3. We should deal with this 'crisi-tunity' a little closer to trade week, not in May.
  4. Adelaide and Hawthorn a flag contenders. We are not. We will most likely lose both... Can people shut up about the next games, I want to enjoy this a little longer.
  5. Obi-Wan said there is no such thing as luck. I certainly believe him when it comes to getting form back. Took alot of hard work from Robbo and Miller and I salute them, as I do my Star Wars segue.
  6. Give credit where it is due Freak. If he continues like that he has a future, pure and simple. To be honest I thought he played a HFF role and Bate played the CHF role straightening us up in the second half. Miller isn't good enought to be a CHF in a push for a flag but he is as a HFF, or what I saw him do yesterday.
  7. When Green and Bruce move into the midfield they are very closely minded. But, you're right, they do play FP and HBF respectively for much of the time. They should be dominating in the centre, but that's another question for a later time. Just want to enjoy the win.
  8. Criticism is always coming and seldom not warranted when a team is zero and six. I think you are very near overreach here and it is a shame. Yes Miller was good, and Green, and Bruce, and Garland, and Robbo. This win should be enjoyed, but it does beg the question... I want to avoid the question for at least a week and enjoy this amazing win. So let us enjoy the 1 but not forget the 6.
  9. Rivers, Frawley, and Carroll usually get the lateral kick when others are too sh!t scared to do anything themselves. No-one was scared in that second half. And Jones had an awful day. Although w/o TJ the tagging duties get shared between Bruce, Jones, McLean and Green. Less of a burden.
  10. I certainly had a go at Robbo, but unlike some, maintained he was capable of what he showed yesterday. Merely questioned his application. Not saying that to illustrate greater knowledge or anything, because I didn't think Miller was capable of what he showed yesterday. I never doubted he could present but he was fantastic; he led sideways, backwards, didn't constantly handball, and had confidence in his kicking. I guess confidence is more than half the battle.
  11. Nah. She's right. Garland looked like a bloke who thinks he's good enough at this level, sometimes that's half the battle. As for Miller, it's frustration station i'm afraid. He was fantastic today, really good, does beg the question... But who gives a sh!t, we won a game of football!!!!!
  12. So the way to avoid being relocated is to relocate... It sounds so stupid and nonsensical it has to make sense... It's all coming together. Phew! I was getting worried there. When I worry about whether I will crash on the freeway, I just turn the wheel suddenly and do it myself before circumstances dictate my crashing... It's just smart thinking.
  13. I don't know where to start. I know where to end it though. Nah, don't think we'll do that. There's thinking outside the box for you... This makes you really appreciate the virtues of 'in-box' thinking.
  14. And we're going to have to have some patience because the way our midfield and forwards let in the inside 50s, Frawley is going to look like he's drowning at stages this season. Just one quick thing - I thought it was great when Frawley had a go at his fellow Demons when Bradshaw marked over him after a boundary throw in and no-one came to help him out. Not great that no-one helped but great that a 19 yr old wouldn't shrink to his peers and let them know when they were shirking their duties. A welcome juxtaposition to Al Nicholson, who was better than some give credit for, but who just seemed to mope when things weren't travelling well.
  15. The club is in dire straits, I realise this. However, this season will bring damage that 6 wins with an old side will not remedy. That is as hopeless as 1 and 21. As I continue to say the media, which colours the views of all footy lovers, will paint the club as futureless and hopeless if we follow the path of a side scraping out a few wins with players who will soon be cast aside. If Yze's form is exceptional (he did some great things last saturday), then by all means bring him in. But his inclusion should be weighted against the needs of a club that is looking past this week, and this year, to the future. When it is all said and done, we should realise the only way out of our malaise is to win a flag. That is not served by playing Holland and Yze and Robertson and Bruce and Green and Neitz and Carroll and Wheatley and McDonald and White and Whelan. Please note the 'ands.' I am not saying get rid of them all (another question at the end of the season) but I am saying we have to take care of our future by not playing all or even a majority of these players as they will not be here as we move for a flag. This is not about NN, or priority picks. I want to win next week, but I want to win with a young team that is showing promise...of a flag.
  16. The narrative is worse if we win 6 games with a team with an average age of 25 or 26, than if we won 1 game with a young team, that has some promise. I don't see how 6 and 16 is such a drawcard to fairwhether supporters over and above 1 and 21. If you do see it, please explain it.
  17. If we trade Davey, it will be after a few others have been traded. He's good enough and young enough to be apart of a tilt for a flag. Keep him.
  18. They'll learn a sh!tload more than playing around Sautner and Liddell for Sandy. And we'll learn something about them.
  19. Depressing but enlightening at the same time. Our backmen need to be given the benefit of the doubt until we get our opponents' Inside 50s down from 62. BTW brisbane had 76 last week against us.
  20. RR is right. As a supporter I believe it amounts to footballing malpractice to not develop the younger players that may or may not have a promising future with the MFC. I don't want to see a team where the average age is 25 or 26 and we still only managed 6 wins. What is the F-ing point of that? Our supporters are not going to suddenly turn around and come to games because Holland kicks 3 and we only lose by 5 goals. The narrative in the media would be worse than if we played our kids and only one 1 or 2 games. Only difference would be if we played all these blokes about to retire, the footy world would say we have no faith in our youth and the future for this club is bleaker than previously thought. Develop a team to win a flag.
  21. Brad Green will be another good player that Melbourne hangs onto so he can get to 250 games and we say 'what a great career, didn't win a flag but hey, that's not important because Brad Green was a one-club player'. Put him in the sale window and see if we can get something decent for him. Top 20 pick otherwise i'll cheer his remaining years with gusto.
