  1. Wouldn't advertise that locker... I'd mention lockers at Casey Fields, MOPT, and the G. Just saying...
  2. I should have put the emphasis on the "is" on that sentence. I was attempting to say to those who think the stop-start chipping around, that has dominated the last 3 weeks, was because of instruction from Bailey are kidding themselves.
  3. The decision may be between giving Robertson another year or Dunn another chance. List management is tough but Robbo is either in his ultimate or penultimate season. Our forward line will move on sooner (2010) or later (2011).
  4. I, as I have said in other threads, believe that quick movement of the ball and run of the mids is the gameplan. The players want to desperately play this way, but when their confidence is tested by a mistake they shrink into a man-sized shell. They seize up so easily. They can do it, a prime example would be the game against the Dogs. I recall one passage of play where there was about 10 handballs to running players off HB to the FP and Miller missed the goal, but the play had me smiling for 10 mins. I was just thinking about how the players wouldn't have had the skill, the where-with-all, or the confidence to do that last year. This week I would ask our supporters to look at the players that get the ball and play on. I want everyone older than 23 to set the example for the younger players by backing themselves and playing at every opportunity. Time to lead.
  5. E25's right. The poster just above you - BB59 - has cleaned up his grammar significantly since he started and now you can actually understand what he is saying. And he says some good things. We wouldn't know that if he didn't fix the way he posts.
  6. Jack Bauer is a moral buster. I think you meant morale booster. For those that see this game as a win-win regardless of the result, you CAN NOT criticise Bailey for winning only 3 or 4 games this season. If you want picks, and you want to win games - you are a hypocrite who should abstain from discussion of the coach on his win-loss ratio. Because it is that very ratio that will deliver your precious picks.
  7. Incessant flooding would lead to numbers around the footy and a sh!tload of stoppages. Melbourne games have the least amount of stoppages in the AFL. That would mean a free-flowing style, granted - the last three weeks have been flowing in one direction only, but I wouldn't say we flood to the extent that it is 'the gameplan.'
  8. I won't call you a pessimist, I would call you a troll. School holidays, folks. The bolded parts back up my assertion that you have no idea about our list so your opinion is pointless to comment on. Go back to bigfooty.
  9. Ah, school holidays... This place will be awful for the next two weeks.
  10. Not saying this applies to you CD but... "I'm a MFC supporter that regularly posts on Demonology and Demonland and I love my club so much that I want to see them win a flag so I think we should lose 18 games this year so we can get two good kids in the draft. But if Bailey thinks that getting 18 losses involves patience for bad losses, he has got another thing coming. I believe it not only possible, but downright easy, to lose 18 times and not get blown out of the water in games." This contradiction is dominating the minds of approx. a third of the people on this forum and I'm getting sick and tired of it. And I am going to go on record here and say that the last 9 weeks have been against teams not comparable to where we are this year (against the top 8 teams in the league and WC at Subi), and we will come out this week and beat the Coasters on our turf. A big, fat W this week.
  11. This is a fixture loaded with 120m par 3's in the last 9 games. From Rd 5 to Rd 13 we have played Adel, Geel, WCE (Subi), WB, Haw, St K, Coll, Ess, and BL (Gabba). The top 8 IMO with the Coasters in Perth. 9 games that we showed the good, bad, and ugly of the MFC in 2009. Now in the following 9 we play WCE, PA, Rich, Freo at the G, and NM at the worst stadium in the world. We will see in those games where we are compared to our immediate contemporaries. Hopefully we have 3 good wins out of those 5 and that's all... I read through too much bullsh!t (especially over the last month) on this forum not to get Picks 1 & 2 now.
  12. I doubt its the end. I would put faith in our development coaches to get the most out of Cale Morton. He has a raking kick, great vision, a huge engine, and has a good head on his shoulders. He could be one of the greatest wingers in our history. I wouldn't trade this bloke at 19. Mono, I see you as someone to make quick judgements and stick to them relentlessly. If I have learned anything from my 'Garland-delist' debacle of early 2008, sometimes you need to take a deep breath and realise that being wrong is a part of being human. You're very human, is what i'm trying to say.
  13. I think the genius wants us to fire Bailey and bring Buckley in. If Bailey is 'unproven' as many on here criticise him for, I don't know what the [censored] Buckley is.
  14. Deletions - Wheatley, Whelan, Robertson, Bell, McDonald, and Dunn. IN: Picks 1, 2, 19, 36, PSD 1, and Valenti. IF Prendergast says in October that he will go for Scully and another mid in November, then we should look to trade an inside mid with value to get our hands on a tall fwd prospect.
  15. If anything we should be trying to get another pick in the top 15 this year, not trading out of the top 2.
  16. That's your emphasis. I can support the team and argue that Morton has been quiet for a month. He will be a good player, but I believe he would be better off with a rest or a run for Casey. Vulnerable players: Whelan, Robertson, Petterd, Jetta, McLean, Morton, Miller, and PJ (if Jamar is right, Martin can help him). They are vulnerable to differing repects, and Bate, Valenti, Dunn, McDonald, Jamar, Maric, Batram, and Newton will be in the frame in the last two months for some games. Watts should play against WCE, it's the easy game after three tough ones.
  17. Why are you here? Go back to Nick's. I couldn't care less what you have to say.
  18. He's playing injured and up until Sat night averaged 7 clearances over 4 games. He's trying to tough it out, but I think the hard decision to get ready for next year has to come soon.
  19. I find it startling to hear so many MFC supporters hope that we lose 18 games and yet get so precious when we lose some of those games awfully. Listen to me: WE ARE A BAD TEAM. Worst in the league. Our best players are under 22, our senior players are either out of form, playing injured, or coming back from injury. And from these lemons Bailey is asked to make Lemonade. And you know what? Lemonade sucks...
  20. Yeah, tez. You just ruined are chances of finalising this hypothetical trade. Don't be a fool. Haawthorn is not going to go for that trade. Some of you live in the land of make-believe, in a gumdrop house on Lollypop Lane...
  21. They seized up like the Dees do in the third. Felt sorry for German, really. Strauss was good, and Valenti was a lone hand in the midfield in the last. Bell, Batram, Dunn, Maric, and the rest of the midfield went missing when it mattered. I'd be very surprised if Wheatley gets another contract.
  22. He's been shocking? I guess he must have forgotten to tell Moloney, McLean and Jones how to kick into the forward line properly... We are going nowhere? Where were you last year? That was a train-wreck in which we lost 7 games by 10 goals or more. You're delusional if you think we are as bad as last year. We are still the worst team, but that is because we are coming from so far back. Forget the last two weeks, people. Young, crap teams are going to play awfully occasionally.
  23. If we get two mids that early, I think we will trade a first 22 mid for a tall, or better draft position. Watts will need help. Jurrah might show he can be that help, but right now, we do need another tall forward.
  24. That article was pure MFC pornography. Designed to titillate and romanticise us into cutting what little patience we do have with Bailey even shorter. We would have to have a painful end to this year and an awful start to next for this to even be remotely in the realms of plausibility.
