We need to lower our eyes, look more laterally on quick plays, do more to get Fritsch open on slow plays, and when we do go deep, go deep enough to avoid Andrews (and then Stewart/McCartin/Broad et al). I agree we would have wasted that start, but weren’t that good tbh. The losing/loading period does need to be reviewed but selection doesnt need shaking up. They need to go in with what we have and get our confidence and trust going and pressure and move the ball accordingly.

The lateral kick is there to mids and Spargo/ANB when we move the footy on quick plays - it’s safer too because we have the numbers from what I can see. Im talking about creation on slow plays to get our best forward to do his thing.

One small wrinkle I would like to see them make is Fritsch being used more to come at the footy or at least come up the middle of the 50. If Melksham/Brown can draw players to the pocket then Bayley should have some room to target. Still allows the safer option but would catch the eye to see Bayley hitting good spots. I am sure many would say ‘of course they would want this’ but I mean actively engineer it with blocking and instruction to get ANB and Spargo and mids from setting up shop there. They clog when we have repeat entries.
