Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line
https://www.afl.com.au/news/896733 Story on the forward line changes. The stat that caught my eye was the reduction in Harmes being forward. I have long endured the pure mids that find themselves ‘playing roles’ in the forward line but they don’t know what they are doing and gum up the works so to speak. Been refreshing to have less of that and more of those that actually have some forward craft and instinct in there.

- Jake Lever on 2022 finals injury
This backs up that I heard ALL our stars were under clouds or varying extents in the back half of last year. That’s goes a long way to explain the drop off from the group in games and in the season itself. I will never fully understand why we literally limped into the finals in 2022 and didn’t ‘use’ that 10 game winning streak to get rests for players and blood players. But we move on. Never again tho.- PREGAME: Rd 04 vs West Coast

I am really unsure which way they go this week but keeping McVee, JVR, Chandler, and bringing in Kozzie are locks for me. Maybe JJ goes out, maybe BBB is managed and he should be nursed through the next 2 years (he is more important than many would like to admit), maybe we go with less noted defenders. Dunno. As an aside, I am a simp for Melksham but how good is the ability to bring him in for Brown and upend what we throw Sydney. It seemed to really make the McCartins uneasy.- POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Sydney

Moving the ball quicker from the back half definitely. Brown looks more dangerous than he ever has. But when we went small… gee whiz, golly gee wowee as Brian Taylor would say. Throughout the game we were creating front half turnovers, they still went coat to coast but they are the best in the comp at that. So when they screwed up we made them pay - that’s all you can do to good teams. Petty is as really serviceable but seemed a little lost the closer to goals he was. Spargo, ANB, and Chandler are the fuel that powers that forward movement. Soaking in a win against that arrogant mob.- What they are saying at Moore Park
@Lucifers Hero Luci - this needs an update. You know what to do.- Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line
From a pure ‘list development’ POV, it would be ideal for ‘a JVR’ to come in with ‘a Brown’ still with 2 seasons left so that the younger player can have some ‘protection’ from having the better defender and having too many targets on his head. I don’t think we can simply think that TMac and Brown are to be replaced by JVR and Jefferson EVEN IF those players are the talents we hope them to be. And we can’t squander the 2/3 years we have left with May and Gawn with our younger stars.- Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line

Oh I’m sorry, did I give the impression I gave a flying? Consider my posts in this thread, and specifically about your rudimentary crusade, as similar to the perfunctory discussion one has while reading the morning paper with uninteresting people.- Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
