The Saints should be looking to win by 120 points, hope some results go their way… But seriously, if we play at the SCG - fine, bring it the [censored] on.

Great win. So efficient inside 50. So patient but also brutally quick to space when they could go quick. Melksham is so smart, Kozzie and Fritsch are natural forwards and everyone else did their role well.
-
And he is playing well. Really happy for him.
-
Done all the exit interviews already… really interested to see how they play on Sunday.
-
Good on north. Back to them beating us 17 times in a row I guess.
-
It’s in good hands.

What do they say about ads for super? ’Past performance is not a true indicator of future performance.’ The reps from the club talk about forward connection as something to work on, and it is not a fait accompli that it happens like it did last year. We don’t have TMac, we are not consistently pressuring like we did, we are not getting forward turnover score like we did, we can’t afford to have an abundance of I50s and not make the most of it because when we have those impotent patches it actually gives our opposition a lift. We need to lower our eyes, look more laterally on quick plays, do more to get Fritsch open on slow plays, and when we do go deep, go deep enough to avoid Andrews (and then Stewart/McCartin/Broad et al). There is too much conflation with 2021 on here in my view. Lightning in a bottle was the last month of 2021…

Melksham named on the wing means Gus is there, nothing surer. Jordon looked laboured, despite what his running numbers were - Sparrow the way back in for him I think. Spargo and ANB aren’t in great form but from what I can see, the play roles that are not easily swapped in for someone unless they know where to go and when to go - mainly on defensive structures…

That contracts stuff I started many years back soooooooo @Lucifers Heroonly gets partial credit…
-
Yes, you’re right.
-
Yeah but Eddie sucks…

Faulty, Luci is the lovely person who rounds up the spilled conscious of opposition fans for our benefit every week. Not wanting to read more odious takes on the faces we see on the TV is not an agenda.
-
Essendon are in a horrible place, according to Rohan Connolly (huge bombers man) the flag winning VFLW coaching staff all resigned prior to the first AFLW season due to the toxic culture at the club. ! Careful where you rest your head Clarko… They need a clean out similar to us 9 years ago.
-
Brave coach and FD to pull the trigger on TMac in first week of finals… Not sure who would go out either. My hope is that the sun rule is tweaked for finals and becomes just another sub.
-
I agree we would have wasted that start, but weren’t that good tbh. The losing/loading period does need to be reviewed but selection doesnt need shaking up. They need to go in with what we have and get our confidence and trust going and pressure and move the ball accordingly.
-
It may be Leading Patterns 101 but perhaps they go back to uni on this one… And it doesn’t have to be too lateral - it can be at the footy. The lateral kick is there to mids and Spargo/ANB when we move the footy on quick plays - it’s safer too because we have the numbers from what I can see. Im talking about creation on slow plays to get our best forward to do his thing.

Welcome and you might think that but then we have those that are happiest trolling fans and themselves and then sign off with a saccharine bloviation:

One small wrinkle I would like to see them make is Fritsch being used more to come at the footy or at least come up the middle of the 50. If Melksham/Brown can draw players to the pocket then Bayley should have some room to target. Still allows the safer option but would catch the eye to see Bayley hitting good spots. I am sure many would say ‘of course they would want this’ but I mean actively engineer it with blocking and instruction to get ANB and Spargo and mids from setting up shop there. They clog when we have repeat entries.
-
Wouldn’t have happened without Jake’s deliberate kick to a 3 on 1 in the corridor…
-
Treloar was best on for WB in last years GF. Grundy WAS a top 5 ruck. Who is just gone under the knife again, who they are desperate to trade out. I don’t see what you see.
-
Treloar is an excellent mid. Grundy has been usurped as no 1 ruck and is arguably behind Cox as 2nd ruck. Don’t care what the AFL say; don’t get him then. Let Coll pay him $1m to play VFL. The AFL would probably want to avoid that tbh…
-
The cap is rumoured to go up $600k next year.
-
Yet they want to move him on and will pay a third of his wage to do so… This is a dump, Melbourne (or Geelong) should not be providing anything of value to allow Collingwood to get off $700k of what they see as ‘dead money.’
-
Play his role with the other 21 so we don’t have to win it at the death?

What’s laughable is dropping him after he actually showed elite defensive intent. He is going to have games where he gets smothered. Having Melksham takes pressure of Fritsch. He chased and tackled and if we can slow down and hit him up, Bayley will kick his 3 or 4.
