  1. Salem plays if fit. He will be better for the end of the season but he can do things that 30 players on the field can’t and he is hard as nails and will make the opponent think when near the footy. That’s gold for HBF.
  2. Batman and Robin? Hmmm. More like Hulk and Wolverine. Or Iron Man and War Machine. Even Spider-Man and Daredevil. comin in here with that DC kid adopted by a rich bloke nonsense…
  3. I honestly don’t care what the FD does with draft picks especially as we are in our window. BUT In no way should COLLINGWOOD. GET. A. FIRST. ROUND. PICK. FOR. GRUNDY. I DGAF what people think about ‘help for Gawn’ or ‘proven finals player’ he is an injury prone player that a club is trying to ‘salary dump’ - you don’t get a good pick back for that. rp out
  4. Oh I think he will go as he should, but I don’t trust you or that you know ‘anyone’ and will remind people on here of that. Consider it ‘the consequences of your actions.’
  5. Only one way to make King and Lyon look like idiots…
  6. Thought I would bump this with his interview on the Gus & Gawny podcast and his return to form. I think he will be playing AFL next year and it would be great if it was with us but can understand if it isn’t. Let’s hope he can stay and play in 3 more wins in 2022.
  7. Someone will give a pick between 12 and 20 for him.
  8. And I was a bit ambivalent about the pre-finals bye but now I just think it should be before the GF. With Tassie, teams will get a bye or two and teams can rest sore players anyway, and if any team wants to do what Freo did all those years ago - well done to them but I wouldn’t flirt with form by resting 10 players…
  9. Of course dusty is playing. Great point, @binmanaround players getting injured at training in the week off possibly because of the need to do high intensity, sustained training to simulate a game BECAUSE of the week off… And libba out is huge but they keep telling me how good that midfield is and they are about to pay the bloke that wanted to [censored] off to Essendon so let’s see it Bont/Treloar/Dunkley et al.
  10. No offence luci but your table made me MORE confused. The graphic the AFL has is fine or Squiggles is interactive: https://predictor.squiggle.com.au/
  11. Sorry, I don’t read The Matrix. I think he is good, his brother better but he would really be a poor man’s LJ and suit our needs.
  12. They would want a 1st rounder and fair enough.
  13. Yes. So the magnets can just sit there.
  14. Yes, every Demon should stop and appreciate this before Gawn gets over the hill; we have half a dozen generational talents and three all timers. Wow indeed.
  15. It certainly does set us apart. And you can do things like this with great mids - it’s conversations like this that give a good indicator of why we have CP5, CO13 and AB10 signed up for so long. That kind of midfield enables you to play any way you want really. And as you imply - when you look at what we have down back - it makes it easy to know how we should play. Pressure forwards, defender push up the ground to ensure territory, mids get it going for territory, outnumber one in defence to intercept. Swans are late to the contested ball party and if we kick straight and deliver well enough into the forward line on quick plays I expect this to be over by HT.
  16. @binmanyou asked at one point why other teams don’t do the ‘triangle’ extra man in defence that acts as a goalkeeper of sorts. The critical thing is the opponent has to keep their extra in the midfield and not allow 1-1s in our backline so it takes a few things for us to maintain this; 1. Smart, talented defenders who can make this work and organise the team to get the outnumber back. 2. A midfield that can compete with one less at stoppages up the ground. Obviously we have an advantage other teams don’t. 3. Lever and May. Now this is a riff off the first one but these two are so smart that they ensure we pull players from the stoppage to get either Lever if we are pressing up, or May alone into the D50. So a lot of teams can do this but jeez they have to get it right or it will mean easy hit ups all the way up the ground due to the outnumber.
  17. Of course he meant this - he’s a hype man for the finals he is talking up all the teams. Every single team has been talked up this year as a flag chance - it’s a huge final series.
  18. Logue is not going to upgrade ND14 to ND2. Also I just don’t think this FD cares about draft packages per se, they will have players in mind (both to be drafted and exisiting pros) and they will ask enough from Freo to get their targets. Unless they don’t have good enough targets and we punt forward 12 months with future picks.
  19. As DD said - don’t believe GNF. He is simply the worst poster on here. And I include olisik and Dr D in that.
  20. Don’t know about this, if we can afford to keep LJ/take on Grundy we have space… plus the cap goes up $600k next year from a report I heard on Sportsday. Shift Weideman and Tomlinson and you have more.
  21. Both of you - wrong. He is obviously talking about former Pittsburgh Quarterback Terry Bradshaw. But he is turning 74 this year and I just don’t think we want to commit to a short term option at Quarterback especially considering he really plays a different system and also our sport doesn’t have that role within the rules…
