  1. I think by 2012 Watts would be more solid than Westhoff. I am really looking for a more solid type. And a better ruckman.
  2. I think it would be 'in-name' only if we went in with Jamar as our 'No.2.' Who do you think would be the preferred ruckman in the second half of a close game? I don't think it would work.
  3. I didn't mean that they needed to become AA ruckmen. Jamar took until 2009 to shore up his position on the list, let alone the 22 (or 21). No reason why they cannot come on before then, but they are both speculative nonetheless. I just think that they would have to get to a higher level in a few years due to the fact that we will be much better than we are and much less willing to allow a 21/22 year old ruckman/forward to take someone's position for little effect, or if they take the 21st position on the field whether they would be a burden for the forward line to carry.
  4. You're right. That is still 4 years away. And when it comes to ruckmen I think you should push it out by a year or two. What do we do in the mean time? I still think we will looking for this player in October next year.
  5. It was a very deliberate question because a few on here have intimated that Jamar should be that forward who rucks and I just wanted to get it in 'writing' who thinks it is just a swell idea to turn an AA ruckman into a back-up for a NQR ruckman.
  6. Fine then - 70% of you think the two kids will 'come on' by the end of 2014. If we go by Jamar's standards we should expect them to 'come on' in 2018. They are unrealistic standards from a couple of speculative kids to see one of them get there in half the time it took Jamar.
  7. I think we can all agree that signing Tom Scully past next year is a good idea. What I also think is a good idea is to not stare at our collective navels worrying about losing the best 19 year old in the country simply because we are MFC supporters. I cannot believe the neurosis sometimes, it is stunning, really stunning.

I'll tell you what else came over the radio - The War of the Worlds. It also was BS. Still frightened MFC supporters though... Tards.
  9. What the [censored] are you people still doing here? He's a Hawthorn player now. I made another thread to put your thoughts in. Migrate.
  10. I think it would be less than ideal to have to be in the position to turn an AA ruckman into a forward who rucks just because we don't have a back-up for him. I also think that expecting Gawn or Fitzpatrick to be ready to deliver in any fashion inside of 3 years in a very good team (I assume we are going to be very good?) as two-thirds of you do is incrediably unfair on a couple of speculative kids. We will have a busy monday, or we will be busy again in October 2011.
  11. A sarcasm meter?! Oh, that's a real useful invention...
  12. You can see yourself - it's a public poll. I wanted people to actually think. Evidently, it didn't work...
  13. I couldn't disagree more. It might be forced upon us having PJ a regular, but our own FD has given up on him evidently (in about July) and I have too (in fact a couple years ago). The man cannot ruck, mark overhead and he thinks he is 2 feet and 20 kilos lighter than he is, and you can't get over that. Jamar never had that issue.
  14. I thought we could move the discussion off of a Hawthorn player. I'd just like to know the general thoughts of the people. EDIT: This is a poll from 2011. Current discussion starts here: http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/23209-backing-jamar/?p=854525
  15. BECAUSE HE IS A KID. Jamar took till he was 26. At best Gawn or Fitz will be worthy members of the 22 in 5 years.
  16. Gawn and Fitz are 6 to 8 years away. MArtin and Spencer would be liabilities in the forward line. Jack Watts?! This backup ruck was engineered to protect Watts and Jurrah from being that long target. I DO NOT WANT WATTS PARKED UNDER A PILL 15 METRES OUT WAITING FOR THE KNEES OF DEFENDERS.
  17. * In about 8 years. The reasons why we didn't go after White are because he would be far more expensive in both salary and picks. Hale would have been a good fit. And now we wait for next trade week to see what falls.
  18. Yes, we have drafted well. But a mid recruited in 2009 is not the same as a ruckman/forward recruited in 2009. We will see Scully nearing his potential next year or 2012. We will see Watts nearing his potential in 2012 or 2013. We will see Gawn or Fitzpatrick nearing theirs in (if Jamar is any guide) 2016 at the earliest. We require a back-up in the interim and PJ is it. I would like to see a major play for a ruck/forward this trade week or next. We failed this trade week, after a lot of groundwork. This must still be a priority for next years trade week.
  19. White would command more money, a higher pick, and more attention in the papers. Far superior player. Cannot see Sydney letting him go.
  20. One can only hope so. This thread reminds me of that Simpsons episode where Lisa is explaining to Homer why a rock cannot keep Tigers away even though there were no Tigers in the rock's vicinity. Deeluded thinks he's the rock! I love Melbourne supporters...
  21. That's a three word analysis I think even Joeboy would find hard to swallow.
  22. I told you it wasn't just me. It's everyone at this time of year.
  23. Yes, officials have posted here in the past. And I am sure that when stupid rumours start the best thing to do is get on here and put out the fire. But that is far away from the interaction coming from the opposite direction. Our input on decisions during trade week is non-existant. If it looks like we have input, it it the convergence of coincidence brought about by the fact that, like Harrington, we all want what we each feel is best for the footy club. It is a perceived input. It is what you have perceived. But it is a mirage. It is smoke. My god, I can go on...
  24. Now that is multi-lateral thinking!
  25. Come on, Deeluded. Jeez... I'm pretty arrogant, but not even I think anyone at the MFC is reading my anonymous posting and taking anything from it. I'll believe in extra-terristerial visitors before you can convince me of that...
