  1. I think the terrible culture, boneheaded appointments, and massive onfield losses got the old guard out of the club. Not that sham of an investigation. We are a better club for the appointment of Bartlett, Jackson, Roos and his coaching staff; but this happened after that investigation was completed and we were found 'Not Guilty', fined half a mil, and the reigns of the club were maintained in the hands of those you claim were removed by the investigation. I agree that the animosity toward OTC and McLean should dissipate but I am not about to applaud the nonsense we had to deal with, nor give it any plaudits for some positive changes that we have seen since.
  2. Which opposition players call him 'Captain Can't Kick'? Who would own up to such an unfunny retort?
  3. Jetta and Georgiou are both on the Primary List due to LTIs for Clark and Hogan. I believe in a week the mid season Rookie upgrade is possible and that will allow both those players to remain in the Primary List even when Hogan comes back off the LTI. Remembering that 8 weeks is the minimum a player is on the LTI, the maximum being 24 (the season).
  4. Same. He's more comfortable with other clubs supporters.
  5. Most on here know my stance but last week was the Indigenous Round as mentioned. All jumpers were not 'traditional.'
  6. He usually wanders over to BigFooty as Trav 20 when he cracks the...sads. Probably there.
  7. He has. We just listen to the nonsense that spouts from everywhere when he gives his "2nd gear efforts" every third game.
  8. Disagree with the first two lines, roll my eyes at the third line and call BS on the last line. If you think Roos is going to cast aside Grimes at the end of the season you have learnt nothing from the first 10 weeks of the season.

I was there. Bulldogs after him too.
  10. I am with wyl. Of course the Emblem is busy. If you'd been through what this club has been through - you couldn't represent yourself in a cereal box caricature. 156 years of inventing the game, dealing with war and depression, borne out of a Cricket Club and a Stadium - there is no simple logo that is going to do this club justice.
  11. Yeah, that was interesting. It makes sense but it is up to him to have the discipline to get off at the right times. The interview? It was a fine, benign discussion on his misguided treatment over the first few years as a Demon. He was honest but not controversial - it was a good end to that period of his career. And as Gerard said - there looks to be a 5 year period coming up that he should find more reward.
  12. Adelaide won't let him leave. After Gunston and Tippett - he is not going anywhere.
  13. I assume you mean 1st round draft picks? Bernie Vince for Pick 24 looks inspired.
  14. Young teams make mistakes. Mistakes are harder to capitalise on in the wet.
  15. I think he is a kid and the season will catch up with him soon. But the promise is so grand if he can continue on his current path.
  16. They didn't post it - it's AFL content tied to us. If it has the emblem exploding or whatever it does before the video it's DeeTV, if it has the AFL logo at the end it is AFL content tied to us because it is a Melbourne round house that doesn't connect. I am sure the club would not want to bother putting that up if it were their decision.
  17. It's an example. He is a part of a defence that has seen the 'Inside 50s allowed' decline slightly but the average points against recede dramatically. He can improve, but saying something as insincere and damning as 'he is not Nathan Jones' bootlace' doesn't help your argument.
  18. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy isn't it? How can the small teams grow and get out of its poor brother state if you don't treat them equally? Is maximising crowds what we want to do? Or is building up lower clubs something worth considering? We all want a fair and equitable league. The draw is apart of why it isn't an even league and it is apart of fixing the inequity.
  19. Yes, or he was in the bests and they wanted to pun a headline so people would click on it...
  20. His right fist has already won a game this season. Fans are ball watchers and concentrate too much on the clangers - I do it myself with my view of Matt Jones. But what MJ brings is a boldness and quickness to a pretty slow set of midfielders. Grimes brings a hard edge and defensive smarts to a backline that is overworked and under appreciated by most outside of this board. And can we just stop the insinuations that the 'best' player has to be the leader? Leadership comes from, and out in, the work you don't see so readily every week when you are watching the footy go back and forth. Our defence this season is lauded but Dunn, McDonald, and Howe seem to be where the reasons for this stop. Jetta beats his bloke for a month and his close to being included, but because Terlich and Grimes turn it over they are not included in the kudos? It's my experience that your backline is only as good as your weakest link and that all 6 (or 7) have to be performing as a well drilled unit. Grimes is apart of that is he not?
  21. I can see us keeping our form and winning many of the next 7 games - I can also see us keeping our form and losing all of the next 7 games. As Roos says - every game is tough for us. We performed well for 100 minutes and got blown away in the other 20 against Port. If we do that again - we will lose all of our games in the two months against good teams (WB at Etihad will be tough). We would be the best 3 and 14 team running around that I can recall but that is our lot if we play 20 mins of footy like we did on the weekend. I hope we are 8 and 9 going into the Lions game at Etihad but it could equally be 4 and 13 or 5 and 12...
  22. Good sides demand and get their inequitable draw because of their following and the AFL's desire to dominate statistically with Gate receipts and TV exposure. I am not advocating giving up QB on a promise [snarky tone]. If we are to give it up it will be when they are all given up and the 'Prime Time' games Friday night, Sat afternoon, Sat night, and Public Holiday games are equally distributed. We have 11 of our 21 games in these slots and 6 of them home games - 2 of which we have had to sell to the NT to make money from (quite a bit btw) so we have two Sat night games against Sydney and WB, one Sat afternoon game against Geelong, and the QB game to sell our product to potential members (and reluctant members) in 'Prime Time' and that's it. Collingwood have 11 'Prime Time' games in Melbourne with 6 of those being home games (7 Friday Night/Public Holiday games). Essendon have 13 'Prime Time' games in Melbourne with 9 being home games (7 Friday Night/Public Holiday games). Melbourne have 8 'Prime Time' games in Melbourne with 4 being home games (1 Friday Night/Public Holiday games).
  23. I hate the build up for this game. Cannot stand it. We all rah-rah and then some Collingwood nuffie says 'they'll be up for this; it's their Grand Final.' Like we play in a different effing league! Well, not anymore. It's just another game, another chance to improve, another chance to get a win. I would gladly throw this game to whoever if we had a fair and equitable draw. So I hope the Bandwagoners see a good show - we need them to jump on board. But it's just another game to me. The Grand Final is our Grand Final.
