  1. Did anyone look at this thread and think for a second that we’re potentially looking at him as a support option for Max?
  2. Looked better last year than this year. Struggling to see what point of difference he brings as an AFL player picked in the first round. I can see it with Langford, Windsor and to a lesser extent XL. I just can't with this guy.
  3. Solid response by the CEO. I hope/assume he means a couple of picks in the high teens or low 20's (after NGI/academies/F&S) isn't going to turn our heads.
  4. Josh Rachelle, Bailey Humphries, Jed Walter, Ethan Read or he can come back day 1 pre season with his tail between his legs. I get that we'll be bent over a barrel with McVee because he's uncontracted but we need to be aggressive and almost unrealistic in Trac's asking price, because we're going to be a worse off on field product next year with Trac gone.
  5. I'd love Rachele as he's such a point of difference in front of the sticks. However, he'd be an absolute untouchable from Adelaide's perspective. They would view him as a key to their next premiership. I know that JJ proposed this trade last night on trade radio, but I think he's off the money with this one. Adelaide rate him that highly that they were prepared to roll the dice on him in a semi final after 2 months out. (yes he was omitted in round 24 2024 but that was due to attitude issues not ability)
  6. Had an awful second half of 2024 and a lousy first 9 or so rounds of 2025. However he was back to his best in the second half of 2025 and is a key requirement for next year. I assume he's not on the trade table.
  7. I can’t believe a player of his talent didn’t get one Brownlow vote for the season. He even got a couple last year off the back of a 3 week pre season.
  8. Rachelle is comfortably better and more exciting than McAdam.
  9. That's a great point you make about King perhaps not wanting to deal with disgruntled veteran players whom he has no connection with. If Trac goes, I'd say King has given it the massive green light and damn the consequences if we win 7 games instead of 9 next year.
  10. I know it's annoying that we're actively making another team better next year whilst making out own objectively worse, but at the same time the only club that can make this happen is us.
  11. Sounds like Hipwood's going to have an interrupted pre season at best as he recovers from a knee injury. Might be best to target healthy players.
  12. I'm happy for us to get the highest pick possible and if that's 11 then brilliant. I'm also well aware that he's off contract meaning we lose some bargaining power (not all as Freo can't risk him going into the draft) . Add the fact that he's coming off a poor season both statistically (down from 17 to 14 touches a game) and on the eye test. I'm disappointed that he's departed, but I'm also realistic in my expectations on what we will get for him, and it's not going to be a first rounder.
  13. Pick 11 for McVee is completely unrealistic. He's out of contract so we have little bargaining power. Once again, Bailey Smith was traded for just pick 17 (and a swap of later picks)- a player that won the coaches votes this year and won his side a final in 2021. How can McVee be anywhere near that market value? Caleb Daniel was under contract, so North had to pay above market value. McVee is uncontracted. If you believe McVee is going to be the premier small defender of the comp with an All Australian blazer in 2026, then sure, pick 11 is commensurate.
  14. He obviously doesn't believe in the direction of the club, and I can't blame him. There was always going to be departure repercussions for a dismal 18 months both on and off field. Can people please stop contemplating pick 11 for McVee. The out of contract Bailey Smith, who is a top 3 player in the AFL based on the brownlow and coaches votes, cost Geelong a late first rounder. Based on the market, the out of contract McVee who had poor year and played one of the worst individual defensive performances of the year on Rankine in round 17, would be lucky to fetch pick 38.
  15. Josh Gabelich has Trac at 25% to stay at the Dees (per SEN this morning).
  16. I don’t expect to get a good return at all for McVee given he’s out of contract. If Geelong gave the Dogs pick 17 for this year’s third best player of the year in the out of contract Bailey Smith, how on earth can we expect anything better than pick 35 for a player that largely stunk it up this year (albeit McVee was very good in 2023 and 2024) Looking now like a real step back year (next year) assuming Trac and May also depart.
  17. Chris Scott alluded to some extenuating circumstances as to why they couldn’t run out the game, but would not expand on it in his presser. Anyone know what the circumstances were? I know a former recruit from the GWS at the end of 2022 was missing from their best line up but aside from that they seemed like a settled unit on field.
  18. Got worse as the year went on after a promising pre season game (4 goals) and glimpses in the early part of the season. Is a known goal kicker and yet kicked 0.5 in his last 7 games of the season. Not excited in the slightest going forward for Sharp.
  19. Can see why we had an interest in Holmes at the draft.
  20. GC men’s side should wear today’s clash jumper against us next year if it’s at the MCG or Marvel.
  21. I’d have us at $1.001 that we finish outside of the top 1 next year.
  22. Given the level of surprise around here about his delisting, it might be possible that another club picks him up as a rookie.
  23. I think Sparrow kicked 10 goals for the year rather than the 1 goal as listed. One would have been an awful return for a capable goal kicker such as Sparrow.
