  1. Save Neitz for round 6 V Port. We should also have Moloney, TJ and Rivers back for Port. Also by that stage Pickett and Sylvia would have had 2 solid games under their belt. Provided we have a solid crack this week and keep the margin respectable, I really believe we can open our account against Port.
  2. A bit harsh there mate. All he was doing was providing a bit of light entertainment. And at least you could hear his trumpet...unlike the apalling MCG PA system that was on display yesterday.
  3. If ND wants another contract, all he has to do is point to our massive injury list, and the Board will probably fall for it
  4. Anyone reckon Yze will be dropped to the magoos again. He's on the extended interchange so obviously no certainty to play this weekend.
  5. Always nice to welcome back an 'A Grader'. Not expecting too much, but I gurantee Davey will stand a lot taller this week and finally open up his goal kicking account for 2007. Quite appalling that our opportunist goal sneak has been held goal-less in 3 rounds.
  6. Welcome back BYRON!!!!! And Moloney in the team...ducks and drakes me thinks!
  7. The footy gods are not smiling on us, from an MFC point of view. $50 Headland plays the game of his life, kicks 5 goals and is the inspiration behind Freo's win. Carr also plays a blinder. I'm almost over 2007
  8. Furthermore, I'd be surprised if the players can even be bothered running through it...especially these days.
  9. My post was a bit of 'tongue in cheek'. But if ND desperatley wants to eek out another contract, he could claim mitigating circumstances (excessive injuries). You never know the board might accept this defence, if the injury crisis remains all year. I personally want him out.
  10. Daniher will get a 12 month extension on his contract. All he has to do it point out the ridicoulous amount of injuries that we've copped, and the board will be more than understanding. (Or at least thats how I perceive the always forgiving Gardiner and his nice buddys on the board)
  11. MFC website says TJ has been cleared of a broken hand and is expected to play Sunday. Sylvia (thigh) will be tested and could play his first game of the year for the seniors. Suddenly things could be looking a little rosier. Freo have M Johnson, Farmer, Peake, Schammer certainly out while Josh Carr and Headland are fronting the tribunal. Meanwhile Justin Longmuir is playing injured and Antoni Grover is a question mark as well. Surely we'll be more competitive this week than Geelong.
  12. Unfortuently Freo's recent form says otherwise: Round 15 2006 - beat Collingwood Round 7 2006 - Lost to Melbourne Round 19 2005 - beat Collingwood Round 16 2005 -beat Carlton Round 6 2005 - beat Melbourne The actually play the MCG far better then Telstra Dome.
  13. 6) The Hot Dog I eat before the match 5) Green 4) The Lemon/Lime Powerade at half time 3) Bruce 2) Moloney 1) Jones Special mentions to Bell and T Johnstone, but I thought the Hot Dog was far more worthy of votes than 18 other MFC players.
  14. He's kicked 3 goals in 3 rounds this year. Perhaps he's worth a nibble at the TAB for Coleman Medalist
  15. Damn. I was hoping you wouldn't say that, because we all know that Tarrant will rip it up after that comment.
  16. No way in a million years will that team happen. I don't think Weetra's even played a game at Sandringham yet. INS - Pickett, Rivers (if OK), Petterd, Bizzel OUTS - Moloney (if inj), Brown, Bate, Ferguson/Holland
  17. Fair call. Don't have any problems giving him a couple of more games...but you have to draw the line somewhere. Is it just me, or does CJ always play in losing sides. I think the St.Kilda, Collingwood, Essendon and Brisbane games of last year where the only wins he's played in.
  18. Surely you tipped against us when we played Adelaide in 2005 (AAMI) with half the team out and coming off a 6 game losing streak!
  19. Anyone want to guess the final 22 before its released tonight. In - Holland, Bizzell, Yze, P Johnson Out - Robbo (inj), Neitz (inj), Rivers (inj), C Johnson EMERG - C Johnson, Petterd, Ferguson INS: Holland's confirmed in the 22 to heighten our defence. Bizzell should come in to add some versaltility forward or back Yze should come in to add some scoring power (if he's still capable at this level) I had trouble tossing up between P Johnson (a foward option) or Ferguson to add an option in defence. Went with PJ as every man and his dog around here wants him in the side. OUTS: Robbo, Neitz and Rivers are confirmed out. Toss up between CJ and Brown. Went with CJ as he hasn't shown he's capable at AFL level as yet (apart from NAB Cup/regional games) and only averaging 10 possessions. At least with Brown, you can be guranteed 20-25 possessions but hope to god he uses the pill properly. Would love to see Pettard debut this Sunday. Saw the kid V Geelong at Skilled (Mar 17th) and showed he'll be a class act in the future (albeit only had 30% game time). Me thinks he's not ready though.
  20. JB, Gary and Nathan Brown alluded to the fact that Neale has an absolutely fantastic rapport with the players. Could that be the major problem with ND. I doubt some of the more successful coaches like Malthouse, Sheedy, Pagan and Matthews are best buddies with the players.
  21. Good. Thats very Geelong. Celebrate one week. "Sack the coach" next week. If Geelong go in over-confident, I reckon we can get them, as long as all our boys play the game of their lives.
  22. 8. To be honest I love these sort of "back-to-the-wall games", when nobody gives us a shot in hell of winning. It makes these kind of wins so much sweeter.
  23. 5:00 am. The nightclub has just closed and everyone's been asked to leave.
